  1. So, who's going to go out in the crowds and get some Friday bargains this week? I thought we might start a thread sharing some of the sale items as we find out about them. I was a little un-impressed with BPS's deals, but saw this GREAT deal at Academy: http://www.academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/specials/hotdeals/1127_6hr&start=16&selectedSKU=0112-03053-0221 Feel free to share your deals, but remember that we don't want to get Glenn in trouble by sharing any unauthorized "inside knowlege". Remember that since money's tight for many of us, sharing deals on things other than fishing might help, too (toys, electronics, clothing, etc.). -Fisher
  2. Well, for one I must say that this game shocked me. I expected nearly a 100 points, but to come almost evenly from either team. Oklahoma must be VERY improved since their loss to Texas. IMO, they are the best team in the Big 12 south. Look for some major running up the score against Baylor, OSU, and even us Aggies this week. OUCH!! :'( Maybe a miracle's in store.
  3. Agreed. If I did see him at a show, I'd want to sit close, though. His facial expressions add so much to his routine. Another good clean comic is Thorr Ramsey. I haven't read all the pages of the thread, but I've always enjoyed Jerry Clower and his clean southern humor. I actually got to meet the guy and have a 1/2 hour discussion with him in the lobby of a hotel once. Class act! He passed away about a year later. ;D
  4. Russ, We have been using this program over the past year at our school. We had two girls direct from Mexico learn English using the program. It seemed very effective. I was supposed to use it to learn Spanish, but have to admit I haven't go on-line yet (after one year). I should since it's no cost to me. -Fisher
  5. I had a stint into bow-hunting about 20 years ago (in and out in about a year). Man, bows have really become radical since then!! It's almost like one day they'll evolve into a gun.
  6. this would be the beaver from the 70,s right ..yup i dove into many a beaver some of them was deep as a really deeeep pond too Guys. . . family-friendly site. . . remember. Please? :-[ Muddy, That's a great story. I think I'll share it with some co-workers for a "Friday Funny" tomorrow. ;D
  7. My grandfather has several of his books that were given as gifts over the years. I've picked up a couple while visiting and find him very humorous. Perhaps I will have to pick up a couple more over the holidays when visiting. ;D
  8. I quite honestly don't care for the Kellogs brand pop-tarts. I prefer the Wal-mart brand over them anyday. There's just something about the Kellogs crust that tastes doughy or something. My daughter thought I was crazy until I blind taste tested her the other day and she agreed that Wal-mart's were better. My favorite is cherry (with a glass of cold milk) followed by brown sugar (best with black coffee). I eat mine right out of the wrapper most every morning at my desk. You can't beat it!!! I've also been known to have them anytime of the day as well. Filling and cheap. . . what a way to go!!
  9. Geez...We have been praying that gasoline would drop below $2 for months. Now you have $1.74 and you want it cheaper! Wassup with dat? p.s. If you will go back to the first few pages of this thread I think you'll find it amusing, when I suggested a range of $1.75-$2.25, how many people said you would never see those levels again in your lifetime! Yes, I have to admit I was skeptical too. Anyone know what oil is trading at today?
  10. Funny. . . yet sad. What has our world come to? :
  11. Anyone think Brett the Jet deserves some consideration? He's sure seemed to spark and mediocre Jets team and make them contenders this year. :-/
  12. You weren't being a "little girl". You did the right thing. The line "levitating" indicated charged particles around you and indicated an area tha lightning could likely strike. Some anglers report hearing a buzzing sound from their rod or the hair on their arms standing up. If I touched my door 5 times in a row, it shocked me 5 times in a row. Daniel, I think once would be enough for me. It sounds like there was definitely some extra electricity in the vicinity there. Perhaps a power surge going on or something. I agree that calling the power company might help keep others safe.
  13. Still looks like quite a row to hoe. I see not only the Jets posing a threat, Pittsburgh and at Indy might be problems as well. It'll probably be someone like Detroit or Cleveland though. It always seems the less likely teams are the spoilers. I DO have to admit, the NFL action has been really good this year. Teams that impress me include Tennessee, NY Giants, Arizona, and NY Jets. The late season run is going to be fun!
  14. Gee, it seems like we were celebrating 5,000 members only a few weeks ago. Nothing like expanding that advertising audience, Glenn!! 8-) More members only helps secure us having a free sight. Thanks!!
  15. That kind of reminds me of the "Write your weight on the bathroom stall so we know how much to dip out." comment. ;D
  16. I am a consumer of the Dew as well, but not all the the time. That is, however, really cool, especially with the lights.
  17. I'll bet there are 10% less deer in Virginia, too. Oh, are we picking him a new last name, too. . . How about Burley Bushman?
  18. All in favor, say I. "I" When you finish your schooling some day, young man, you'll learn that the word is "Aye", not "I". : Youth!!!
  19. Your @!#*% right this is a sad, sad thread!!
  20. Around here, when the Cowboys (not a fan) play on NFL, a local (UHF-type) channel is allowed to broadcast it as well. If you don't have cable, you could see it on antenna or a local cable operator that might not have NFL. It still didn't fix the entire problem outside of the DFW area, but was somewhat better for local residents. Still, as big as the NFL is, you'd expect them to get their game shown to a larger audience (surely they'd want to and sell their ads for more $$$).
  21. Back in the day, we called marines "Bullet Magnets" or "Bullet Sponges". I had several buddies who went the National Guard route with the GI bill and don't regret it. Of course this was 20 years ago when the Guard wasn't sent overseas. There have been many Guard troops from Texas sent to Afghanistan and Iraq recently. One thing to consider. As a senior, you DON'T have to sign in for some time now. Take your time and don't let anyone rush you. As a middle school teacher, I have talked to former students who let a $1000 or more signing bonus sway their decision to join up before graduating. Remember that you are committing at least four years of your life to these people. AND, IMO, a little prayer into this matter might not hurt (if you're in the habit of praying). -Fisher
  22. BTW- What does shaving your pits have to do with stopping sweat? Has the man every heard of anti-perspirant?
  23. Wow! $57.50, keep dropping!
  24. What time do they play THIS WEEKEND ? I now see the sarcasm in the response. NEXT WEEKEND, Hookemdown, I think your Sooners are going down. I wasn't aware that Florida was playing the gamecocks in their chicken house this weekend. That looks like an upset waiting to happen. As far as Texas at Kansas, who knows. Kansas has kind of slid downhill for the last few weeks. Maybe they'll see this as redemption for the rest of the season. On top of that, maybe my Aggies will do the same Thanksgiving night. (at least I'm praying they will). Gigem!!
