  1. Geeze, I thought the brand of underwear and cologne threads were bad, but this one takes the cake. If this is any indicator of how bad our winter is, look out. : BTW- No, I will NEVER shave any part of my body except for my face or head. God put that hair there for a reason.

Yeah, the grandparents' remote control was a pipe wrench to turn the pole. ;D The grandkids would always fight over who got to go out and turn it. Grandpa's little game. . . he knew what he was doing. 8-)
  3. It's funny this should come up. I was watching the local news and saw a story about "obese" people. Of course they always show people's butts as they walk up and down the street. I'm just glad I'm not one of those people. Regarding the blacked out face. . . she just doesn't want anyone to know what she looks like when she takes all their money and they don't lose weight. But, hey. . . these people help pay the bills here so that we can talk about them and other stuff. Thanks black and white fat and skinny people, whoever you are!!
  4. Well, that thah's funny, aye dan't cah who yah ahh. We used to have a pastor from Maine. We used to laugh at him when he would announce a church activity. He's say, "There's rum (room) for everyone!" Hard liquor in the church. . . shame, shame. ;D
  5. Absolutely. . . we can NEVER forget!! Salute!!
  6. Well, it finally broke below $2 at $1.99 at Murphy and others as well. The TV news reports $1.83 at Burleson (south of DFW). I hope it keeps going.
  7. Hey 4bizzle I did that with an old CD player and speaker set that worked just fine No takers with the FREE sign. So I put a sign that said FOR SALE 20 BUCKS, SEE OWNER INSIDE. Someone stole it within the hour Darn it. You beat me to it. ;D
  8. I don't know what's worse, but Break Cake (a subsidiary of Earthgrains, Inc.) used to call their knock-off brand "Hoot'n Toots". I used to make them for a month or two before getting my first teaching job.
  9. At least he'd like for you to think that. : I've always felt like he's been surrounded by a greater group of assistants and players, especially when Vince Young was there. It was always like watching a bunch of 7 year olds play with a 14 year old as QB on the local school grounds. Give the ball to the big kid and let him do what he wishes. Either way, he knows how to get it done. You can't argue with that.
  10. Well, when I got up this morning, the house was at 70 and the heat was running (just as programmed to do). It's hard to get used to having lukewarm air coming out of the vents. It was always nice to feel that furnace kick in and give you a warm burst. The temp on the front porch read 36 degrees. I will still check the connections, clipper. Thanks again for everyone's help. -Fisher
  11. Be careful what you wish for friends. I so wanted R.C. Slocum out of Aggieland and we've suffered ever since. There's always somebody worse.
  12. You ever see one of those things up close? Very impressive in size. They just installed six of them on top of the mountain ridge where I grew up. Looks like they are building 2 more right now. A lot of people see them as an eye sore on the landscape. Do I think they are great looking? No. But you know what looks even worse? My electric bill after deregulation of area companies without some form of competitive, alternative energy.... I can put up with the wind turbines, no problem. Does T. Boone Pickens own the factory perhaps? There's a big push to install 100's of them in Texas right now. Problem is that each once costs upward of $2 million a piece. Big investment now = Free energy down the road (Free for someone else, at least) But, you are right, Speed. I can put up with them to get some relief. Imagine how many of these could be put up with the buyout $$$?
  13. Flech, God bless you and your family during this special occasion!! It seems like yesterday I was holding my own little girl in that delivery room (that was 10 years ago). -Fisher
  14. Thanks for the input guys. I got home from work, removed the front panel from the new thermostat to remove the hold and noticed a selector switch on the back of the circuit board. I switched it to "HP", read up a little in the manual to find that my thermostat only works with single stage systems (come to think of it there was no switch or little blue light on the old thermostat), so I put the front panel back on. I switched it to "heat" and both units came on and within five minutes warm air began to flow. So. . . I'm assuming that I have a "single-stage" unit that doesn't have electric/auxillary heat. What am I supposed to do in "cold" weather (below 32 degrees), freeze to death? Should I buy a portable space heater or two?
  15. I saw $2.01 two counties over at Murphy (that's 1.98 with a Wal-mart card). It's still around $2.50 a gallon here in my home county. . . GOUGERS!! > There are rumors of $1.90's elsewhere in the DFW area. Keep dropping!!
  16. I ran it again this morning for about twenty minutes before I left. . . nothing. I did, however feel cold air coming OUT of the return air vent. Glenn, I'll check the new thermostat package when I get home. At this point, I am prepared to put the old one back on and see if it works. We are only planning on being here until the beginning of the new year anyway. I'm just trying to get this all worked out before the really cold stuff hits here (you know, Northern guys, like 32 degrees).
  17. Thanks Fishindaddy. I'm familiar with the burning dust smell as I have a heat pump unit in my classroom at school. We just got another front and the temps are supposed to drop back to lower 40's/mid 30's the next couple of nights. I'll let it run for awhile longer and see if the inside fan kicks on. My plan (as used to be with the gas furnace) was to keep the unit around 70 in the evening and program the temp. down to 65 at night, then back up to 70 (or hold at 65, if my wife works) in the daytime. A tip on one website said not to do this because the auxillary heat would run to catch up those 5 degrees in the morning. Can someone suggest times and settings for my unit (for best efficiency)? We get up around 6:30, I go to work around 7:30 (my wife substitute teaches and is gone some of the time). We get home around 4:00 and go to bed around 10:00. Of course on the weekends we are home most of the time except for church on Sundays (weekends we travel I always just manually turned it down to "hold").
  18. Hey guys. Up until the summer when we sold our house, we've had gas furnace heating in our home. With the recent lows in 30's and 40's, I decided to turn our heat on the other day. The duplex we are currently living in has a heat pump. About a month ago, I installed a programmable thermostat (without the land-lord's permission thinking I'll install the old one when we leave :-[) by the book (wire for wire). I programmed it for heat the other night (before the temps dropped). When the temp reached 69 (set at 70), the outside unit kicked on and began running, but no air came from the vents. I let it run for a few minutes and then turned the fan setting to "on". I could then smell and feel heat coming from the vents. Not being that cold (and having to get to work) I just turned it off. My question is this. Is the outside unit supposed to come on and run for awhile before the inside fan starts blowing? Obviously, now renting, I would need to call the landlord before getting it repaired. If this is the case, I want to make sure I didn't mess something up with the new thermostat. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but HVAC is a weakness of mine. Any help would be appreciated. :-? -Fisher
  19. Great pic Bucketmouth! Thanks for sharing with us. -FOM
  20. Well, if you work at the Dodge dealership, isn't there a mechanic you can talk to? I'm sure if you've got a good relationship with these guys, they would be willling to at least look at your car.
  21. At around $50+ per cat, that might get expensive. Surely, there's something you can feed the little devils to make them sterile. . . like antifreeze? Just kidding, Glenn!! Trap them and take them to a local dairy farm. I'm pretty sure they'll stay around there for awhile. 8-)
  22. Tipp, You've been around enough to know what kind of answers we'll give. At least you have some comic relief to think about while you're replacing those struts. Oh, and BTW, you might need some more plutonium in that thing. . . or wait on a lightning storm. ;D
  23. . . . and all do a GREAT job!! Oh. . . and by the way. . .
