  1. 60's to 80's. Well that would be the same as my list of "All-time Favorites". I've been less than impressed with most artists after 1990. Just a few off the top of my head (in no particular order): Creedence Clearwater Revival (the original CCR) ZZ Top Beatles Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble The Fabulous Thunderbirds Alabama Charlie Daniels Band Van Halen The Who Led Zeppelin
  2. ...You think barbecue is a verb meaning "to cook outside." I'm with you there; anything cooked on the grill without sauce is NOT barbeque. . . I did see something on the food network that the origin of the word does means "to cook outside" though.
  3. I'm with you Mudman. These are the reasons that you can't take something back to Target more than twice a month (even with a receipt) and other crackdowns at many other retail stores. Unfortunately people have been this way for years. I remember around 20 years when I worked at K-mart; people would bring in rods and reels covered with dust and pondscum and demand a refund claiming "I just bought it, but lost the receipt." Yeah, right. We even had one yahoo bring in the wire tip of a cheapy rod wanting an exchange for a new Berkley Series One rod (at $89, the most expensive one we had) because he lost a fish on it as it snapped (and was only able to save the tip?). He also claimed that it had a Shimano Black Magnum (another $89) reel on it. Why can't folks just be honest about breaking it themselves and foot the bill for a repair or just eat the loss? It's way better than passing the costs of replacing their stuff to us through the product manufacturer. Man up folks. You break it, you deal with it. :-X
  4. $1.99 gas anybody?
  5. We arent buying anything you have to sell FOM. Texas trailed the whole game against OU basically. Us fair-weathered fans are like any other fans that see a good team get behind early. By the way, how did the OU linebackers do against that "little boy" Colt McCoy? lol I actually think UT's secondary will be their achilles heel in the end. I still don't know how Texas won that game!!!!!!!!!! I do have to admit, Matt, that "little boy" McCoy seems to have grown up a little. I think I even saw a whisker on his chin in the TV interview the other night. IMO, though, I still feel that OU is a little more talented and gave the game away the other day. AND, as hard as it is to admit it, Texas is better than I thought they would be. :-[ I'm sorry, I just can't like them though. : I still think it's going to be a long row to hoe for your 'Horns.
  6. Get used to it. More's coming!
  7. It'll be a shoot-out, probably more points than Texas/OU. As much as I'd like to see Texas lose, they'll probably have the edge at home. BUT, if Mizzou can jump out early, the "fair-weather" Texas crowd will be less of a factor. It will be a great game to see, however me and the family are going to the state fair all day Saturday. I just hope my Ags don't get whipped too bad at home against Tech. :'(
  8. Maybe you should have blocked her and had a stand-off like George in Seinfeld. ;D No, Muddy is right. People do this to me at Wal-mart all the time. Apparently, being there first and putting your signal on means nothing anymore. Getting worked up over it and seeking revenge isn't the answer. Alot of people are jerks. . . period. Try not to stoop to their level or let them steal your joy! -Fisher
  9. Well, it finally dropped below $3 here in Wise county. I saw 2.71 at Murphy last night while the other stations held firm at 3.19. I noticed oil stabilized at around $80 a barrel yesterday. I wonder how much more of a price drop at the pump we'll see if oil doesn't drop anymore? :-/
  10. What about the Supersonics?
  11. Wow, that's alot of snow. Thanks for sharing those pics. It's not been below 50 degrees here in North Texas yet.
  12. We took a last minute trip to Southeastern OK Friday night (Beaver's Bend State Park north of Broken Bow, OK). Our local gas price was 3.29 a gallon. I got to Gainesville, Texas to see 2.67, then in Antlers, OK for 2.48. Needless to say, I stopped and filled up with the 2.48 on the return trip Saturday night. I still can't figure out why there is a 62 cent price difference by driving into the next county. I can see the differences across state boundaries due to fuel taxes, etc., but all I see in my county is gouging. To my knowlege there is one main supplier to most of our stations, except for Murphy USA, and why would they go any lower than they have to.
  13. I feel you Dom. I put off college Algebra until my senior year. That's been almost 20 years. Now my daughter brings home 4th grade homework (not unlike what Mrs. Matstone posted once) and I struggle with it at times. It looks like you've got a good support system here and some good tutors. Good luck with it! 4pt! 4pt! 4pt!
  14. Youth. Try .59 a gallon when I first got my license. . . and that was only about 22 years ago. I'm sure some of these old timers can remember .30-.40 a gallon when they started to drive. And how long after that did they invent electricity?? Yes I realize that it used to be cheaper haha. What I was trying to get at is that just 3 years ago it was a crisis that gas was over $3, now its considered "cheap." I got it Mase, I was just pokin' fun! You know how we had it so bad back then, to school in the snow, uphill both ways, etc. The cost of living and salaries were ALOT lower then as well. Well, it WASN'T so bad back then. . . I'd go back in a heartbeat. Things were so much simpler then.
  15. That makes you an "old fart". ;D You mean you didn't have to feed Dino a bone to get to work back then?
  16. You ARE right in the eyes of many, but I have family in Oklahoma, so I have to be nice about it. Honestly, the folks in OK aren't much different than most Texans. Troutfisher, Just be thankful you didn't grow up during those times. I caught the tail end of it (some places in Texas were still segregated until the mid-70's). If I'd been alive back in the 50's and 60's I'd have probably been beat down by some of those hipocrites. I believe that color of skin is in NO way the correct to judge a man. The character of a man lies in his heart and his actions, and there are idiots in every race. I understand the pride you have in your state, but racism was everywhere back in those days. You can do NOTHING about it now, except live your life as a responsible young man of character and promote those values of respect and honor that you already do. You are part of our future generation and the generations that follow will look toward you for guidance. Learn from the mistakes of your forefathers and lead on, brother. Keep doing the right thing!! -Fisher

  18. Technically it is... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mason-Dixon_Line ;D Southeast Bass Fishing section includes: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia That the state is south of that line means nothing. Arizona is below that line, as is New Mexico. Are they southern states? VA, TN, LA, MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, FL Hey, show some love for Texas!! Heck, just about everyone here that didn't come from south of the border came from all of those states in the 1800's. Much of my family migrated here from TN.
  19. This one's always a thrill to watch, no matter the rankings. I think we'll see Texas' weaknesses exposed and OU rise to the top in this one. I can't wait to see little boy Colt McCoy getting his bell rung by the hard-hitting OU defenders (heaven knows my Ags won't be able to do it later this year with their "Wrecking Who?" defense) Although close throughout most of the game, I'll take OU by 10. As far as Missouri stealing the show? After watching the K-state and Texas Tech game the other day, you might want to keep an eye out for Tech. A little "D" and they might take it all.
  20. Still around 3.50 a gallon here at our two stations. . . gougers!!
  21. Very bad. . . but good!! Thanks for the Wednesday morning snicker!!
  22. I think the sox will struggle a bit in the first two games. I say sox in 6 (5 in the series against the Dodgers). Tin, you're right. . . October is a whole new season.
  23. That reminds me of that line in "Yours, Mine, and Ours": "You googled another man's wife?" ;D
  24. No thanx...I'm all set. ;D How about this one: "Excuse me, what time is it?" Me: "Why, it's 10 of." "Um...what?" Me: "It's 10 of... as in 10 minutes of 2... or, 1:50" ;D Apparently, in RI we are the only ones that say "of" when referring to the clock. Seems like most everyone else says "til" My daughter got one of these on her 3rd grade homework (telling time) last year. It confused the heck out of me. :-?
  25. You forgot about Ask.com. Of those, I do use google more than others. I seem to get less advertising there.
