Cable Company (rant)
Big T- We've had Direct TV for around 7 years now. In that time, we've probably only been without for a total of 30 minutes or so. I'll lose a signal when some very heavy rain is heading our way from the south, but it is restored within five minutes or so. I used to lose cable for over 30 minutes a month (more than that if you count individual channels). My only gripe about Direct TV now is that they are increasing their costs, but the service has always been reliable. I don't want to jack the thread, so I'm PM'ing you about your surgery.

Need a new digital camera
Burley is dead on. I think Wal-mart has changed the link here, but I purchased the A560 based on his advice (Canon powershot for under $150) back in January. I have been THOROUGHLY impressed with my camera. Even without the image stabilization, mine takes incredibly clear pictures. Although looking for a camera for around $100, the extra 40 I spent was well worth it. Go with a Canon for sure!!

ex-membering yourself...
for you to assume that they are giving everyone on this forum the finger for leaving is just plain weak. . Call it what you will, that's how we take it. If you have another reason why someone would delete as opposed to just fading away and not posting, I'd be curious to hear it. How about entering the witness protection plan? Perhaps if you owe the Guido the Shark some money? Hiding from ex-wife? ;D

Flowmaster
YIKES! Remember the days when we didn't care what kind of gas mileage we got? I had a 1972 Chevy SWB with a 327 and a four barrel back in high school. I'm sure the mileage on that thing wasn't much better, especially with my foot on the floor all the time. Then again, gas was 68 cents a gallon. Ten bucks would fill it up.

FAVORITE SANDWICH ( not to be confused with the other thread
It's hard to beat a good Philly Cheese with fresh sliced roast beef, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and peppers. Then slather some cheese whiz all over it. Yum!!

Crazy Sandwiches...
What is scrapple? Maybe it's a northern thing. When I was a kid, I'd eat mayonnaise and cheeto sandwiches. I still like to put some chips on my sandwich every now and then. I turned my daughter onto grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches awhile back. We now have one two or three nights a week. (with a curled lip) Heeeeeeeeey!! Post edit: OK, perhaps not a Northern thing (after seeing Russ's post) Middle northeast thing?

Official BR.com Movie Review thread
Michael Clayton- I expected so much more from this movie. You are right. It was very slow throughout and did not progress much in the end. I like a little more action in my dramas. Does that make sense?

Selling house by owner. . . need feedback.
Thanks, Kent. The market here in North Texas is said to be better than the nation (according to our local media). My wife is pushing a little to hire another agent, but since we're not real pressured to sell immediately I thought a month by owner might not hurt. Besides, we can ask around $10,000 less going this route.

Fishing Banners?
Just wear a big coat to a bass tourney or outdoor show. Spin around a few times near the wall. I'm sure they'll never notice! :

Selling house by owner. . . need feedback.
Greetings everyone, We are about to put our house up for sale by owner. We made a run last year with a realtor but the last four months fell into a real slow down. We also had issues with our agent in that she didn't provide us with feedback in a timely manner and don't feel she worked hard enough. We've considered the "buyowner.com" service, but haven't seen many houses sell in our area using them. Needing to clear some $$ for debt motivates us to keep that extra 6% in our pockets. Besides the normal tips such as staging the house, etc., what experience have any of you had at selling by owner. Where can we receive help with the paperwork, etc? Should we take out a special ad in the paper? We're purchasing a sign and "infotube" that allows us a spot on the web with pictures. Any advice would be appreciated. -Fisher

Italian Confession......
I can't say this often, but that was the funniest I've heard in a LONG time. I'm still snickering about it. Are you sure the boy in question's name wasn't Dominick? The details might be a little "muddy".

I love squirrels!
Not to jack the thread, but: Hey Burley, That reminds me of my high school FFA days. Back then, each club on campus had the opportunity to sponsor a faculty "coffee" each month throughout the year. Ours was in February during FFA week. Every other club had donuts, danishes, coffee, etc. at their "coffees". Being the future farmer chapter, we always had somewhat better fare than the rest, so the teachers would ALL attend ours. We FFA officers would hang out in the home ec. room serving the teachers (refilling coffee, throwing away trash, etc.) On our table we always had some backstrap and gravy, brains and eggs, head cheese, and calf fries (along with bacon, eggs, biscuits, etc.). On this particular morning the calf fries were in a bowl next to some sausage balls. I was standing behind the table as a frail young lady rookie teacher passed. "I know these are sausage balls," she said, "are these sausage balls, too?" as she pointed at the calf fries. Most of the old veteran teachers knew better. I looked over at my Ag teacher and he winked back at me. "Uh, yes, ma'am they're sausage balls, too," I said with a smile. The whole room erupted in laughter as she put some on her plate. That was one of the funniest times I remember in high school. ;D

I love squirrels!
We ate alot of rabbit and squirrel when I was a boy. We used to walk a creek bottom full of pecan trees below my grandmother's house. There was an abundance of them there. I've not hunted much as an adult. Like Burley, fishing has taken over most of my free time. I liked them grilled, fried, and stewed. I've got a dozen or more running in and out of my back yard. I've got a good mind to peg one with the pellet gun and fry him up! Bucketmouth, Is that a wood burning stove you're cooking on? Man, you guys are "country". From the looks of that, I doubt this is your first squirrel. Thanks for sharing.

callin off work tommorow to fish, need help!
I'm with Sam and Hookem down here. Be responsible and honor your committment to your place of employment. Depending on where you work, plan a day off. If the relationship is good with the mgmt. you should be able to work this rather well. It's fun to kid around about all this, but when you get older and have a family, you will need to set your priorities better. Feeding your family with a paycheck is so much more important than a day fishing. Not to sound like a stiff, but tread lightly with this job excuse thing and your workplace. You may need to cross those bridges again someday. Just my .02, not a scolding!!

Say it aint so MaryJane!
Now, now. Those joints belonged to some hitch-hikers and she was weaving in traffic because she was adjusting the heater in the car. ;D Seriously, although Tina Louise was cast as the beauty queen, I always thought that Dawn Wells was WAY prettier than she was. I guess living in Ginger's shadow finally caught up with her.

vent!
It depends on how the receipt is printed. The newer laser printed receipts will not fade. I've got some 3-4 year old reciepts in my wallet from Wal Mart that have not faded. I've also got a few that were printed with a typewriter-like printer and those fade very quickly. Leave them on your truck dash in the sun awhile. That's always faded mine. I also found out awhile back that some retailers (Target is one) will keep track of your returns and only allow a set amount over time. > I think Target will only allow 2 per month (even with a receipt). IMO if you haven't used the product, you have your receipt, and you want your money back, you SHOULD be allowed to get it back (at least within 90 days or so).
