  1. Rolo, You make good points about decay of brush. I find your method intriguing, but would like a better description of the "4 inch corrugated pipe" at Lowes. Perhaps I have lack of vision this morning, but all I can see is pieces of gutter stuck in cinder blocks. Could you explain or provide a link to this "corrugated pipe"? -Fisher
  2. Upon looking back, I didn't predict, but set a goal to get out and fish more and possibly catch an 8 or 9 pounder. My second wish was for God to grant me the health and well-being to be able to "go and get 'em". Well the first part of that didn't really happen, but I'm still healthy and able to go after them again this year. There were so many activities in my spring and summer along with lots of rain (kept the pond looking like chocolate milk as well preventing me from driving in there) that I didn't get to go as often. I've now got me a trailer for my jonboat and will be able to take it other places. One place in particular had two 10 pounders taken from it within a few days last year. Regardless of success or not, I'd call 2007 a pretty good year.
  3. . . . or better yet, don't change your screen name at all. I can hardly recognize some of you around here anymore! :
  4. Ronnie, Apparently the fact that your wife passed on flew past me, but I truly can't imagine a life without mine (going on 17 years). Your positive attitude and faith in God truly shine through and is a true testimony. My wife is my fishing partner on many fishing trips (1 in 3 probably). I like Bassnajr's statement of "running it by each other" and that's what we do. This proves (not that I doubted) that there are some really classy gentlemen here at Bassresource.com. You all seem committed to your passion and the sport, but your committment to your spouses first is evident. -Fisher <>< P.S. Somewhere in this, I think about the old Hank Jr. song, "Attitude Adjustment". ;D
  5. That's funny. Although I didn't fish with him before we married, my father-in-law and I got along better than he and my wife did (while we were dating). He and I make it a point to go fishing at least once a year (many times on the Little Red River in Ark. trout fishing).
  6. Great to hear the news, Ed. Keep us informed of your success. P.S. Are you delivering the flowers as Teste or any other of your characters? That would be a hoot! You should make a video of that using the flower delivery truck. I can see it now. Teste saying, "I haaav sum flowaz fo U!" ;D
  7. Favre goes out on top. Pack all the way, baby!!!!! Is that what I THINK? No, but I'd like to see them go one more time for Brett. Besides, I got a Favre jersey for Christmas and need to get some extended wear out of it.
  8. Time and Attitude. . . I'm sure that's what you're talking about, right? Seriously, I really enjoy fishing with my wife, although she isn't completely as serious about it as I am. Although I will fish alone much of the time when she's not there, I guess the best fishing partners are those with equal skills (so I'm not having to spoon feed them) and the understanding of the true outdoor experience. I enjoy good conversation, but not too much talk. Humility and sportsmanship are high on my list, too.
  9. Well, my main goal for '08 is to get out and fish more. I'm really thinking about some back surgery in June (as soon as school let's out), so that will limit it some weeks after. Maybe I'll get my Hawg in the spring. My ultimate goal has always been to catch a 10 pounder. I would be very happy with another 7+ which I haven't done since 2006. I've only broke 7 pounds about three or four times in my life, so it's still special to me.
  10. It seems that's been the case about other teams for the last couple of years. Matt, I see your points about scheduling. It's the same in the Big 12. It would only be fair if everyone played everyone else.
  11. Dan, It is a different cord. Like I said before guys. I think it's the card and I'll try and get to it soon. CGH,I may try re-installing the drivers first. Again, you guys have been very accomodating with your suggestions. I'll re-post later if I'm successful. Thanks, Fisher
  12. As much as I hate to admit it, I think you're right. Parcells found out that "old-school" doesn't work anymore and I think Gibbs may be seeing that, too. He will be missed.
  13. A GREAT movie to watch with your family is "The Ultimate Gift", but keep the Kleenexes handy. You've been warned, toughguys!! :'(
  14. Did you check this?? It's sounds exactly like the problem I had. Yes, KU, I turned the volume setting down completely on the mic, and it still continued. To answer another couple of questions. The satellite speakers and subwoofer are all prefabbed with color coded plugs from Dell. As I said earlier, I swabbed the ports out with acetone and a q-tip, and still have static. I even hooked up a set of standard speakers and have the static in both speakers. Muddy, I don't know if I have static in the sub, but I have static in the other four. I'm still thinking that a new card is the answer. You guys have been overly gracious with your input. Let me take some time and try and get a new card installed. I'll let you know how it works out. God bless, Fisher
  15. Dell 5.1 surround sound speakers. I think they plug into the sound card. OK guys, when I got home tonight I turned off the computer, unplugged everything and checked to see about unplugging the sound card. I noticed that the casing to my tower is riveted (thanks Dell). Anyhow, not wanting to cause any further damage (right now) and drill out the rivets, I cleaned the sound plug ports with acetone and a q-tip (with the some of the cotton pulled off). I plugged everything back in and re-booted. After turning the power to the speakers back on, I noticed, "Hey, no crackling!!" Then I went into Windows media player to test the sound. I clicked on Van Halen and cranked it up. Well, you guessed it. The crackling's back. I'm sure there's a lesson in this somewhere. I'm going to check into the soundcard.
  16. Exactly why ALL Big 12 fans ALWAYS root for the "other guys"! So, if OSU wins is Kansas #2 or is it THE University of Missouri Tigers? : 8-) I say Mizzou. They got shafted by the BCS and OU embarassed the Big 12. Give them #2 as a consolation prize.
  17. That's a hoot. I guess in your case, gravy is a food group.
  18. . . . just about any bargain bin tackle that lays around in Walmart sacks in the garage. . . . back pain. . . . hol(e)y underwear (I've got to have something to wear on Sunday) ;D and t-shirts. My wife has to force me to throw them away.
  19. The way college football has been going this year, it's hard to pick, but here you go: LSU- 14 OSU- 10 Am I the only one who see's this game much more lackluster than any other NC's of the past? Is part of it due to scheduling it so far away from the other bowl games? IMO, I would rather see the bowl games done by Jan. 1. I'm not even sure if these are the two best teams in the country. Two words (although it will NEVER happen): Playoff system
  20. ron, I would think that, if the waders are unused and still in the original packaging, BPS should allow you to exchange them for another pair. Most retailers will allow an exhange without a receipt. A refund, on the other hand is a different story. Why don't you just call them up and ask before making the trip?
  21. Finally, a serious post. I switched them out with a new set and it still crackles. I'm think something to do with the computer.
  22. Speed, I've definitely considered that. Sloemoe, my wife leave's her cell phone in there some, but it's not that little beeping kind of static like that. This is loud crackling and popping. Thanks for the replies so far.
  23. I've never fished with a pair, although I've worn our head pastor's a time or two in the baptistry at church. He fly fishes in them and swears by them. The neoprene is alot warmer than rubber. Unless you are wading in some seriously rough terrain, I don't know why you couldn't just wear an old pair of tennis shoes (running shoes would be good to let water out of the sides). Again, I'm not an experienced wade-fisherman, but that's my .02. -Fisher
  24. Hey guys! I've got a problem with my home PC (a Dell Dimension 4600, I believe). For the past two weeks or so, I have severe static (loud crackling sounds) coming out of my PC speakers. This exists as long as the speakers are turned on, even when not listening to music or a site that has sound. I even switched to another set of speakers and they crackle and pop too. What could be wrong? Is there something wrong with the sound card? Any advice would be appreciated. -Fisher
