Santa Clause arrested
I pepper sprayed myself once. I put my wife's keys (with the pepper spray canister attached) in my pocket. Somehow the safety switch got turned and it sprayed me right in the @%*!!. Man, did it hurt! Two showers later and alot of scrubbing it still hurt. I'll never do that again. I can ;D about it now, but it sure wasn't funny then.

Thanks for letting us know. We might have had a problem recognizing you had you not told us.

Quality of NFL football anouncers
Oh, I forgot about Collinsworth. He bugs me as bad as Musberger.

Quality of NFL football anouncers
How does that work when you're watching Dallas vs. Green Bay? : I absolutely love to do that while watching a baseball game. Recently, though, while watching one on TV and listening on the radio, I found that the audio was delayed to the radio. By the time you heard it, it had already happened on the screen.

Quality of NFL football anouncers
I DO like Joe Buck, but I'm sorry, Troy Aikman is boring to me. He's not bad, just boring. And, for the life of me, I can't stand Al Michaels (I still want to know what a "footbull" is), although he has managed to survive with Madden. Madden is OK, but I think he's losing his edge in his years. Don't forget Keith Jackson or Hank Stramm! Classics. Another I can't stand is Brent Musberger. He drives me insane, and I don't know why. As far as women announcing football (and my wife agrees), they have no place there. The only quality female sports announcer I've ever seen who seemed to know what she was talking about was Robin Roberts. Just my .02.

Favorite Steak House
I'm with Sloemoe. Perhaps I haven't been to many "upscale" places for a steak. I kind of like the Saltgrass chain here in Texas. It has been my experience that it's hard to beat my favorite: Abbott's steakhouse, right here on my back porch. I'd just as soon grill my own, and for the most part, it's better than most places I've ever been to.

Favorite Christmas Show(s)
Man, when Linus has the house lights brought down and starts in with his recitation of the scripture, everything that seems wrong with the world seems right again. I think that is one of the highlights in television history. Amen to that. I used this little clip the other night in our children's worship time at church. Some of us need to do the same around Christmas, so we can "get it".

Kelli Pickler, is she for real?
Howdy Reverend. She was a "loser" on American Idol, but her dumb blonde personna and sweet and trashy down home singing style have given her a career in country music. Thanks. Funny I wouldn't know that. My wife and I usually watch American Idol. However, I detest modern country music. Maybe that's why I haven't heard of her since.

Man did I have a bad day!
Great way to keep it positive, Muddy!! In all my 37 years, I can't remember ever having a white Christmas in northeast Texas. My daughter always wishes for one. I tell her not to get her hopes up.

College Bowl Countdown
The bowl has traditionally been called the Sun Bowl (El Paso is on the border of Texas and New Mexico (hot, dry climate). Brut (I'm pretty sure) is a men's cologne company (like Old Spice).

Kelli Pickler, is she for real?
IMO, she is not that attractive. The dumb act completely kills ANY chance at being somewhat attractive. BTW, but maybe I'm living in a bubble, but what is her claim to fame? :-?

Favorite Christmas Show(s)
How about some love for the Peanuts gang? My favorite is the "Charlie Brown Christmas" show. You know these shows are only 30 minutes long, but when we were kids (before video tapes and they were on ONLY once a year) it seemed like we could sit down and it would last for at least two hours. I guess life was alot simpler and slower paced back then.

College Bowl Countdown
Well, four more days. Any picks for the Poinsettia Bowl? I'll take Navy. Sam, I would have to favor your Tigers in Nawleans! I think Ohio State is over-rated. I would have liked to have seen OU play you guys. I think that would have been more of a challenge.

Looks like Gagne is heading to the bewers.
That's more like he used to bring here in Tx. (40+ saves a year)

College Bowl Countdown
Well, it's kind of hard to tell you about our team right now. For most of the season, we (Fran) relied on a triple option run using our QB Stephen McGee (very tough, lots of heart, average arm), RB Mike Goodson (4.3 40 speed, 200 lbs., quick but dances around too much), and our bruiser "J-train" Javorskie Lane (275 lb. Jerome Bettis- type runner). This offense was good at chewing up clock and scoring a modest amount of points. However, after losing three straight, in the Texas game, Fran opened up the offense to include great play from WR's and tight end Martellus Bennet (should go early in the '08 draft) to light up Texas' secondary. But, none of that matters, now. Our DC Gary Darnell has taken the controls of the team until Mike Sherman can come on board after NFL is over. Our defense will remain fair (not anything like the "Wrecking Crews" of yester-year), but better than the last two years. I really hope he keeps the offense opened up and let's it fly. I can assure you it will play like a home game in the Alamodome with 50,000 or so loud Aggie fans there. That place will be rocking. What have the Nitanny Lions been like this year? And do you think Jo Pa will hang it up soon? Gigem' Ags!!

Looks like Gagne is heading to the bewers.
Don't get me wrong. Gagne never really had a chance to prove himself here. He was unhealthy for most of the season, and when he finally got healthy, our GM dealt him off while he still could. Kenny was a good pitcher for the Rangers, but after his camerman stunt, I think our club had no choice but to let him go. As for Cordero, he was a dominant closer with us for two or three years before stinking up the place his last season. You guys used him as a set-up guy, didn't you? Or did he close for ya'll?

College Bowl Countdown
Hey everyone, I'm kind of in college FB withdrawal right now. I am definitely ready to watch some bowl games. With only one week more to wait, I thought I'd post the bowl schedule and offer a place to discuss our favorite bowl matchups. I can't wait to get started. My team's bowl is highlighted in maroon. I haven't watched Penn State much this year. What do any of you PA boys have to say about the matchup with my Aggies? Looks like Gagne is heading to the bewers.
Are you kidding me?!? This deal is a joke Gagne was by far the WORST bullpen pitcher the Red Sox had on their World Series run. I cant believe that your GM signed him to a 1yr deal for 10mil, We barely had him for 7 weeks and he gave up atleast 2-3 leads while he was here. I dont think you guys got a deal more like his agent got a nice fat check. The Brewers front office has been the laughing stock of the New England sports media ever since that story broke that he was signed. He wasn't much better for us with the Rangers. He just might be a "has-been". . . a ten million dollar "has-been". Time will tell. Usually every pitcher we let go or deal off does better somewhere else (see Kenny Rogers, Chris Young, Francisco Cordero, etc.)

What is your drink?
I think I'd rather drink poop. Zel, I take it you would rather drink Salamander poop instead? ;D
-
What is your drink?
Sorry, no drama here. . . I drink good old Coke or Dr. Pepper. However, back when I did, I really liked Strawberry Daquiri's. I just had problems with the volume of drinks I consumed. :-[

This Is What's Wrong With Baseball
I agree. I wonder how it would be if all teams had the same salary structure. I DO find it funny, however that the Yanks (despite spending more $$ than anyone else) haven't been as successful of late. You can't buy "heart".

Petrino to Arkansas
Billy Gillespie is at UK. It was sad to see him leave us, but I think Mark Turgeon will carry the torch pretty well. I'm looking forward to Houston Nutt laying it on the Hogs in a couple of years. That Ole Miss program has been pretty down since Eli left.
