  1. Thanks guys. I'm going to try and replace the thermocouple. Can I get one at Lowe's, etc, or other hardware stores?
  2. Agreed RW. Both of these teams are VERY good at what they do. If I were to pick I'd take Indy at home. Colts-38 Pats- 35
  3. Hey guys, I know that several you around here are HVAC tech's and I need some help. After the recent cold front, I was reminded of a problem that I was encoutering last winter. We have a late 70's model Lennox gas furnace. The pilot light was going out every few days late last winter and I thought nothing of it (wind or something). I lit it last night and it went out before morning. Can any of you guys offer me some advice? I'd rather save some $$ and do this myself if possible. Thanks, Fisher
  4. Hey, we had a kid like that where I grew up, only his name was Little Johnny. Somehow, I believe they might be related. ;D
  5. Yeah, I just hope J-train didn't guarantee a win this week. We saw what that got him last week. Every time he's opened his mouth, we've lost. (Miami and Tech)
  6. "Buy-out Bowl". . . that's funny!! Good luck to your Huskers, RW!! Gigem' Ags. . . in spite of Fran!!
  7. Very funny!! ;D . . . and true in many parts of the U.S.
  8. Sam, Fran was selling "insider information" like injury reports, practice performance, schemes, etc. to big $$$ alumni people for $1200 a year. I think he may have made close to $20,000 from it. AD Bill Byrne and the university were never aware of this until it came to light by a reporter.
  9. You don't understand Texas Aggie football. Its about beating us t-sips, not about what he makes on the side. Winning is the motivating factor at most colleges that have a winning tradition. Matt Matt, Have you got anything concrete on that (i.e. press conference, etc.)? I'm thrilled to hear it, but won't be happy until I see it in writing. "Beating the t-sips". Well, we did that last year and that was probably what saved his job then. I think the newsletter incident combined with a whipping from Miami and a slapping from Tech (we are 1-6 vs. them)was the last straw. I'm sure the big $$$ alums saw fit to send him packing. I hope we get a quality replacement. -Fisher
  10. "caught" - Let me slap my knee!! ;D You should take that act on the road. : Yes, I have to admit that R.C. did have it together with the "D". It bothers me when some of the current Aggie players refer to themselves as the "Wrecking Crew". They don't even come close to the real wrecking crew. When R.C. left, I do admit that I was one who wanted change, but I never wanted Fran. I always thought that Gary Kubiak would have made us a great coach.
  11. I wish someone would fire our head coach. Fran needs to GO!!! >
  12. Well I currently don't have one. ESPN has done their best to basically kill bass fishing shows on Saturday morning. I found out about two weeks ago that we get the outdoor channel now on Direct TV. I'm still in the process of finding them on that channel. I used to watch Hank Parker and Jimmy Houston. One that always made me laugh was "Go Fish" with Fish Fishburne.
  13. Because it's in my front pocket all day. For some reason taking a pee takes precidence over taking my phone out of my pocket. We have four minute passing periods and rowdy junior high kids running into my classroom. I just try to get in there and get out quickly. :-[
  14. Hey guys, tease him all you want, but I've almost done this while flushing the work toilet (leaning over to flush while my phone was in my front pocket). P.S. After reading some of these posts, I see what Russ meant about our "sarcasm" getting out of hand. Let's try and be nice, OK? -Fisher
  15. I've been told that if you have to make a claim on a phone, tell them that you lost it, or it was stolen. Otherwise you are involved in a big hassel trying to get them to fix it. BTW- My wife told me about another way (she saw on GMA) to remove water from a phone that has been immersed. Pour a little rice into a bowl, set the phone in it, and fill it to the top with rice. The rice will supposedly soak out all the moisture.
  16. Devil's advocate or not, it was a puddle of water for crying out loud. That's as about as absurd as the police officer tripping over a child's toy in someone's living room. Would it be the parent's fault for not tidying up the place before the police got there? Please!! > This sorry cop should be ashamed. She should accept that it was an accident that could have happened in her own home and take responsibility for it. Even more pathetic is any attorney who would take this case. Shame on all parties involved!! I hope the judge throws this out.
  17. You guys are all nuts!!! ;D
  18. Yes, Kent. The Unit is a very good show. I didn't watch last night, but after reading the other post on the show, we are watching the DVD's from Season 1. We just finished the first four episodes on Monday night and they were great. I could do without some of the wifey stuff (mostly the extra-marital affairs by the one), but overall its a good show.
  19. Hey man, Don't sweat it. My wife and I hesitated for several years as to whether or not we would be able to afford a child, and received the same comment from everyone: "Well if you wait until you can afford them, you'll never have one." Our decision was affirmed while reading in the Bible this verse: "Psalm 127:3- Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward." We then decided that since a child was a gift from God, that He would provide us with the resources and knowledge to take care of one. I'll never forget that feeling my wifes first positive pregnancy test (especially after confirming it with a doctor). I remember having butterflies in my stomach because this was for real. However, my wife suffered two miscarriages before we had our daughter. I'm not trying to worry you, but if this happens it happens for a reason. Don't give up. Oh, what a blessing having a child is. I remember coming home to the our daughter's nursery and as I held here I looked up and thought, "OK God, this is for real. . . now what?" Throughout the early years, even though we had researched everything and read up, it just seemed that God sort of "let down" any knowledge we needed when we needed it. I wouldn't trade any of the experience for anything in the world. I haven't read all the posts but one book series that we found really helpful were the "What to expect. . . " books (like Matt 5.0 said). It will take two of you to make this baby and there needs to be two of you raising it. Be there for your wife. I don't care how much others kid about it, but help her with the housework, changing diapers, bathing. . . everything! Bottom line is trust God and all will work itself out. People have been having children for thousands of years, and have been very successful at it. Let us know if something develops, and until then, have fun trying!! -Fisher
  20. In no particular order: Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, The Beverly Hillbillies, All in the Family I do have to agree. With the exception of Seinfeld, just about anything that came out after 1990 just doesn't match up with the older ones. Classic TV rocks!!
  21. Mike, I'm glad that you can share those feelings with us. We are here to vent to among other things. I, too went through some tough times at the end of my HS and the onset of college years. However, like every other tough time in my life, those times did pass. I will lift you up in my prayers and pray that God will lead you through this and help you become stronger because of it. God bless, Fisher <><
  22. OB- Some of these still come on on the Hallmark channel, TV Land plays some on Saturday afternoon, and there's another channel called WHT (World Harvest Network, I think) that plays some of the old Lone Rangers, Davey Crockett, etc. on Saturdays as well. Some of them are still around, you just have to search for them. -Fisher
  23. Absolutely prayers sent!! Ed's always provided a ray of light for us. I hope all works out well for both of them. -Fisher
  24. I kept expecting a finger to get in there. Shad master, my daughter figured them out too, but not right away. I remember once when she was three or just turned four when she offered my wife some Tylenol for her headache. She came walking into the living room with a bottle and the lid off. We're like, "How'd you do that?". She said, " I read the instructions. . . it say's push down and turn." Child-proof my rear.
  25. I watched from the middle of the 2nd quarter to within 3 minutes left in the game. Very dissapointing. I just wonder if all the media pressure to the team and Woodson got to them. I still think they are a good team capable of making some noise in the SEC. This game proves exactly how competitive the SEC is. No matter who you play, you'll have to bring it to win. Deb, where are you? We'll go easy on you.
