  1. It sounds like you are left-handed. I once, too fished with a left-handed baitcaster (that you casted right-handed and reeled with your left). I did this untill finding a great deal on a right-hander and after some time now fish well with either hand. Give it some time and you'll be able fish right-handed well.
  2. I had one and wasn't that impressed. I'm sure it makes a difference which Wendy's you go to. Mine was cold and was missing a piece of bacon (my wife didn't want me to embarrass her or I would have complained). We were with her grandmother and I didn't want to cause a scene (like I usually would). A more filling burger that I've eaten of late is the Angus Sirloin Burger at Jack in the Box (the patty on that thing is almost 1" thick), although not the tastiest. The most tasty restaurant burger I've ever had was at Dave and Busters.
  3. I've always kept a pair of Justin ropers to wear to church and wherever, although I wore out some Red Wing pecos boots back in high school (jeans tucked in and sleeveless Panhandle slim western shirts; I looked like a redneck bigtime). Now I have a pair of black bullhide ropers (keepin' it simple) and don't wear them very much at all. The kind that get on my nerves are those flat toed ones that all of our MS and HS boys are wearing. They look flat retarded. (oops, hope none of you guys wear them. . . just thinking outloud) :-[
  4. You win the "Thanks for the advice" smiley!! And, for the battery advice, you win another!! Although, buying anything from Energizer has ALWAYS been difficult for me because of that stupid !@*#% pink bunny.
  5. Burley is the winner!! After reading CFFFF's post, I got to researching the Canon cameras. I really wanted the A570 with image stabilization, but came home and went to Wally world. A former student of mine who works there showed me that exact same camera (the A560) for $127.00 (12.00 cheaper than the website). We played with it for awhile and realized that the pictures were very good (even when my daughter fidgeted quite a bit). After getting it home, I'm pretty confident that I made a good purchase. Thanks guys!!
  6. That USED to be my brand back in the day. My wife gave me an ultimatum when we got married. She said, "You can kiss me or quit chewing." Well, I took the sugar. For awhile after that, I would occasionally bum some off of a friend while fishing. Redman made a product called "Totems" one time that I really liked. For around a buck you could get two or three chews from it. It was good for the recreational chewer (or the chewer who wanted to hide it from his wife) to use on a fishing trip and throw away. Today, I don't know how anyone affords these habits (here in Texas there's an additional $1.00 tax on top of the already expensive $4 can or pack). I'll settle for some sunflower seeds or peppermints now.
  7. Sounds like fun. Did anyone notice the end of the passage where Billy Ray received a "fish bite"? I knew he was a pretty boy, but I figured he surely had caught a bass before. :
  8. Thanks, Muddy. I will!!
  9. I think it's been discussed before, but I can't seem to find a post with the "search" feature. Long story short: I purchased a Kodak 8 mp "special purchase" from WM before Christmas for around $88. There was a problem with the battery terminals. When it DID work, it took great pix. I took it back (they didn't have anymore of them) and was encouraged to trade for a Sony camera (she said it was better than Kodak). Needless to say, the Sony took horrible pix (no image stabilization feature left them blurry). I refunded this camera and we spent the money on other things (like food :). I now have some extra cash to spend on another camera. I'd like to replace it, but I'm lost as to what to buy. I looked at an Olympus camera at Radio Shack yesterday (7 mp I think for $99). It had image stabilization, but used an "XD" card that seemed a little pricy ($29 for 512 mb). I've read numerous reviews on alot of cameras and all are mixed. I trust you guys more than any review elsewhere. What should I get? :-/ -Fisher
  10. Mike, As an educator, I agree with you 100%. We have junior high kids who have no clue how to write an organized essay. The sad fact is that, due to texting, ipods, and chat rooms, we are raising a generation lacking in good grammar and communication skills.
  11. My condolences. . . seriously, Happy Birthday, buddy!!! Enjoy your day!!! God bless, Fisher
  12. I would ***-U-ME that it is because the cable lines and poles belong to the city (at least the right of way that they run on). In most cases (or at least it should be) up to the city counsel members to go with the best service/low bidder. I believe the companies selected are contracted for a set number of years. Have you contacted your local city counsel people/mayor, etc. and inquired of when Charter's contract is up?
  13. I dumped cable over 7 years ago. Direct TV has served us very well since then. Does anyone use any of that fiberoptic "phone company" TV service?
  14. Very cool cake. They have pix of that cake in a catalog in a grocery store up the road here. I'm wishing for one on my b-day (only if it has the cream cheese/shortening icing; I hate that "cool-whip" low-cal stuff) I like to feel like my teeth are rotting away when I take a bite!

Right now, it's the "Aggie War Hymn". In the spring I'll change it to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame".
  16. "I sure wish this old man in the top hat and top coat would leave me the heck alone!!!!" "I was sleeping real good, too!!"
  17. Ceph, Looks like the guitar monkey bit you hard. So much for waiting on some replies. ;D Have fun rockin' with your boy!
  18. Hey, that's Jimzee. It looks like the winter blues finally got to him and he went on to the sky. Well, at least he DID pick a fine looking lake to look down on. ;D
  19. ;D No redneck I've ever known was a snob. . . perhaps overbearing and obnoxious, but never a snob.
  20. Come on guys! This is clearly a hoax. It's a man in a bigfoot suit. Patterson and Gimlin are up to something again. Alright now, it's getting old!! We didn't believe it in 1967 and we don't believe it now!! ;D
  21. NO, I don't believe it The REAL LBH would never be a forum NAZI It must have been some kind of evil clone. dude say it ain't so. Has this message board gotten so heavy handed that a silly joke is seen as a threat to some perceived notion of wholesome family values. Seriously dude. I'm not expecting any mea culpa's. becuase I learned long ago that most people, including very cool ones, would rather argue for their right to be wrong, than admit a mistake. but dude, really...........locking that post was out of line. Suggestion: Since the "everything else forum seems to cause so much controversy, why not just eliminate it? During the winter, I find myself looking at this "Everything Else" area more than the others. What would I do with my day if it were gone? LOL : During the winter. . . dude, my day wouldn't be complete without a visit to the "Everything Else" section. Just talking about taking it away saddens me greatly. I can live with a little supervision from these fine moderators. . . they do a great job. I am NOT a suck-up, Muddy!!
  22. Just another example of how fame is NOT all it's cracked up to be. Sad. Very sad.
  23. Rain guard? Perhaps I'm stupid or there's some kind of dialect barrier, but explain what the "rain guard" is. :-/ Whatever it is, I'd always check the local salvage yard before buying new parts (set or not) Also, you might try J.C. Whitney.
  24. My favorite fishing partner IS my wife. A bad day fishing doesn't have to end that way!!
  25. X2- You gotta tread lightly. I don't think I thought about such things when I was a teen. I was four on the floor everywhere I went. Bud's, I wish I had someone like you to remind me of that back in the day.
