  1. Great pic Wagn!! Thanks for sharing with us. It won't be long before you can take one like this:
  2. Yeah, saw this before on our local news. It was on a feature called "Deal or Dud". I can't remember if it was a deal or a dud.
  3. BTW- Has anyone heard from Ed lately? I haven't seen his ugly mug around in awhile.
  4. Outstanding game. I have no doubt that the best two teams in the country were represented. I knew if anyone could, Kansas could defend Memphis. They're desire to not give up is inspiration to all of us! Congrats KU!!!
  5. There's no need to worry about missing a "Deadliest Catch" episode. The Discovery channel will air each episode about a billion times afterward. The sad thing is that I'll watch one several times over. :-[
  6. 3:03 A.M. ? Don't you ever sleep? :-? It sure took you along time to reply to Muddy's question. Did Gidge bring you dessert, too? ;D
  7. Memphis played Texas last weekend, and won! Don't be fooled. Memphis is really good. I think a well-rounded team like KU or NC can challenge them on their shots. Mark my words, their inability to shoot free-throws will show up again in the finals. It has been stated that a team with a free-throw % under 60 has never won a NC since 1982 or something like that. I think Memphis' was like 58%?
  8. I don't like it either, but it makes money. If people would quit buying such oddities, then the mills would stop "inbreeding" them. Let's not forget about the Chweenie or the Chorkie. I have, however, always wanted a miniature Lab. . . you know, a yellow lab that would stay the size of a puppy, but mature with the intelligence of an adult (OK, don't look at the "Fail Dog" thread)
  9. Note the edit in the title. Therefore I can't be held responsible for what happens.
  10. I'm in no way a supporter of the ACLU but this (although humorous) is a bit too close to reality. . . kind of scary: (turn up your speakers) http://aclu.org/pizza/images/screen.swf -Fisher
  11. KU, I'm with you on UCLA. Heck, my Aggies almost beat them. . . that should say something about them. You've hit the nail right on the head with KU and NC. I'm with KU and the Big XII to win it all. Either way, there are some great games coming up!
  12. Down here in Texas, every sunfish is referred to as a "perch". That's what I've called them all of my life, not knowing any better until becoming an adult. I guess it's just stuck. Even farther south in Texas and in Louisiana they call crappie "white perch". Not dumb, just a dialect thing. :-/ Sorry, didn't want to jack the thread, I just thought I'd defend some of us "dummies" down here. As far as the little boat goes, it looks about as useful as that "rocket" fishing pole. Useless.
  13. I've got a four year old black who still does this. For this reason she has no bed and is a yard dog. Every time I've ever bought her a dog bed, I come home to see cotton fiber scattered all over the yard. Needless to say, she sleeps on cedar shavings. Punk! At least she doesn't shred my daughters sandbox toys into little shreds of plastic anymore (fingers crossed). :
  14. Like I've always said, "If I'm running, you better get a gun and shoot whoever or whatever is after me!" or "If I'm walking, stop and pick me up because my truck's broke down." Seriously, I wish I was the kind of person who could run 2-3 miles a day. I am completely aware of the health benefits, but I just can't get motivated to run for the sake of running. I don't mind running if I'm engaged in some kind of sport/competition. Hopefully, after some back surgery in June, I'll be a little more motivated to get active again.
  15. Hang in there. All things happen for a reason. . . it's all part of character development and faith. Things WILL get better!! God bless, Fisher
  16. I don't like new country music. It all sounds like pop music warmed over.
  17. I'm with you there Burley. Having seen a UFO and having seen a "spaceship" are far from the same. There has been some big deal made of this lately over some unkown lights in the sky not too far from here in Stephenville, Texas. We also live near Aurora, Texas where a "supposed" landing took place in the late 1800's. Just another way to make $$$.
  18. x2- I am completely happy now, educating children and working as a worship leader at church. . . that's where the GREAT ONE has me right now. However, if I had a choice in the matter, I've always been fascinated with meteorology. I wouldn't mind being a TV weatherman. My other choice would be to own and operate a fishing tackle business and build it up enough that I could part-time manage it and field test tackle the rest of the time.
  19. As Chris Rock used to say, "Good laaahhd that's alot of money!" I guess I wouldn't have a problem with the $99 for two, but the fact that it's normally $100 per plate is a little pricey for this small town teacher. :-[ I'll stick to my backyard grill. I'd bet I could compete with them anyway. 8-)
  20. God bless you in your new endeavor!! Having been a public servant in education for the last 16 years, there's nothing like doing something that you are passionate about. Here's my .02 though: Make sure that as much monies as possible goes directly to the people being served!! That's one of my biggest hang-ups about alot of relief organizations. -Fisher
  21. Murray, I don't know where the video you are referencing came from, but I can assure you that most slaughter facilities are using the most ethical practices that they can. Watching such a video probably wouldn't sway me much. The sight of most slaughtered animals makes me hungry! I admire you for voicing your preference here. I have no problem with anyone who chooses not to eat meat, but everyone should have a right to choose without any pressure to do otherwise.
