Walk up song for baseball
Thunderstruck is always played at the Ballpark in Arlington, Texas when the Rangers need to rally. It really gets you on your feet and hollering for the team. Another I've always liked is The Who's "Teenage Wasteland". Don't the Yankees play that one some?

Favorite western movies?
"I got two guns, one fa each of ya!" I like Tombstone, probably followed by The Sacketts/Conagher tied, then Lonesome Dove. Now that I think about it, Open Range might rank second. It was a pretty darn good movie (probably one of the best shoot-outs ever at the end of it). Some of you have listed Wyatt Earp, but I found it a bit drawn out more than Tombstone. Maybe if I had watched Wyatt Earp first.

2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!
Hey guys! Great to hear that everyone arrived safely and are catching something. Be careful out there in the wind. It'll probably be as strong today as yesterday. The good thing is that the storms that were predicted for mid-week have been pushed to the weekend (if even then). I'll be thinking of you all while I stamp out ignorance today. I'm going out to my big pond this evening in the jon boat. I'll just imagine a bit more brush around me and pretend like my two pounders are twelve. It'll be just like I'm right there with you all. . . NOT!! :'( You guys stay safe. God bless, Fisher

Mega-Millions
The fact that he's a "good-hearted blue collar worker" does not make him stupid. He's just a victim of the game. I'm sure some publicity is required of him by the lottery company. I do agree that many bad things will follow. A visiting pastor of ours made reference to a particular former lottery winner who went through alot after he won. His marriage fell apart, he had a grandchild kidnapped and later murdered, and his house was broken into numerous times all because he "fell into money". It's funny how the other megarich people in this world don't have to deal with this type of stuff. I guess it's because they are use to it and have taken necessary actions to prevent these problems.

Oh no, Glenn. She's found you out. I guess she's relieved to know you're not "chatting with babes online all day". Welcome, Keri!! God bless, Fisher

House fire
Logger, Prayers sent. This has never happened to me (almost once, but we caught the fire in time before it got started good), but I can't imagine what it would be like to start over. God bless, Fisher

*Lake Fork Trip* Please Read!!!
Tex, That's a really kind offer. I wish I could drive over, but we're not allowed to take a personal day the day before or after a holiday (i.e. spring break next week). Then again, I could be very ill that day (from your boat). No, I really would like to come, but with TAKS tests coming up and all, I need to be there for my students each and every day after spring break. I know, where are my priorities? Thanks, Fisher

New job= Mo' fishin!!
Russ, Glad to hear of your special blessing! I agree that from this end you seem to possess talents beyond delivering boxes as well. Keep your head toward the stars and a door will open for you someday. Congratulations! -Fisher <><

tragedy strikes alabama...and my family
Murray, My prayers are sent. During our moment of silence this morning I encouraged my kids at school to remember all those affected by this tragedy. Please let us know anything concerning your cousin. God bless, Fisher

rain Rain RAIN!!!
Sure wish we could get some here. My big pond is as low as it's ever been (a total of about 10 feet low). Despite a wet December and January, February didn't give us much. It's as dry as a bone around here.

Hey KU!!
Agreed Hookem! Although I've got plenty of students who argue with me, I think the Ag's experience will definitely help them on a neutral floor. If the horns can get a big man to replace Durant and some depth from the bench, they should be alright. Augustin really has shown some improvement this year and it looks like Abrams has a pretty solid outside jumper. Get another guy or two to pound the boards and you guys will stay competitive.

Hey KU!!
Hawgin, I think it might have been more likely for your Tigers to upset us if the Ags had won last night. I wonder if we may have overlooked Texas a bit for the Mizzou game. Right now, I will predict a home win for the Ags, just because they need to get that bitter taste of defeat out of their mouths. Honestly, I don't think a win or loss will matter much as a #2 seed in the Big 12 tourney should follow, which is OK. In response to Kevin Durant, yes, I think he's really good, but he needs to complete his game a little on defense. I do think Acie plays with more heart, though. How about his shot over Durant last night? He's got ice in his veins! KU- The more I think about it, I'm not dissapointed either. I'd rather have a weakness exposed now (i.e. transition defense) than in the Big Dance. I think Gillespy still has some work to do. Texas just did what Tech did to us by running down the court before we were set. All I can say is that Big 12 basketball is starting to get the respect it deserves, which is win-win for all of us.

Hey KU!!
After the tough loss to Texas last night, I sure hope your rock chalk Jayhawks bring it and BTH outta TU on Saturday! I just don't think I could stomach seeing them steal the Big 12 title out of both our hands. I'm bummed!! :'( Oh, well. Maybe it was a wake-up call for my Ags. Bring on the Big Dance!!

I love this board.
Thank you Robert. The same is true except my other is a sports message board (and I'm here 99% of the time). I echo your sentiments each and every time I log on.

Hey Texans!
I don't know if Avid offered this, but here's a link to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department if anyone wants it: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/ I just thought some of you might want to do some research on the Sharelunker program or maybe utilize any other information here. There's also a link to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens (within an hour's drive). Somewhere in the "Fishing" section is an acrobat file with the state fishing and hunting handbook. Man I wish I could get away that week!! Good luck to all of you!! 8-)

Bummer
Huskertko, Being a teacher, I've been in a situation or two where my contract wasn't renewed because of personality conflicts. My first thoughts each time was "Why is this happening to me?". Each time, as Sam said, God opened a window of opportunity for me and my family. For over six years now, I am in the best job of my life and I am in a part-time ministry position (both un-solicited). I am sure that through prayer and His direction you will find that window. I will hold you in my prayers. God bless, Fisher

Relief in sight
Dang, I hope those geese gain some weight before they get back here!! 44 degrees today, calling for 60 on Saturday!! Snowed the last 3 days. I LOVE New England!! ;D I would have caught more, but I just didn't have the arm strength to cast my crankbait that high more than twice!

Relief in sight
To all you guys up North: I want you to know that I consulted with nature's meteorologists yesterday and they told me that spring is on it's way. I was out wetting a hook at the big pond and heard the lovely sound of Canadian geese honking their way back North. BTW, I caught only two, but they were a couple of nice two pound chunks. It won't be long, now!!

Peoples court-bad decision-tuna charter
;D Where's Judge Wopner when you need him? Even TV courts are corrupt, go figure.

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
You make a good point. Didn't the old TNN (now Spike) network carry the Bassmasters prior to ESPN? I sure miss their old format. (Drag racing, Hank Parker, and Bassmasters)

My first great night of sleep ever.
Live 2 fish- We tried the tempur-pedic, but felt constricted as I lay there. I felt like I was laying in a plaster of paris mold. I'm sure it would be very comfortable, but wasn't for us.

Byron & Mary
I don't know about anyone else, but I could give or take either one. I saw the Hooter's boat as a distraction, both to the anglers and TV viewers. I didn't tune in to look at women. I can go watch some late night cable if I want to do that. As far as Mary (eh, I wasn't impressed). It's kind of like watching Leslie Visser on the sidelines of a football game. The women reporters just don't seem to fit. I'm not big on any women reporters/hosts on outdoors/sports programming unless they are very knowledgeable of the subject (which most don't seem to be). As far as "eye candy" is concerned, there's plenty of other avenues for that. I don't want anyone to think me as sexist (my wife agrees with me on this subject). This is just my opinion. Fisher

My first great night of sleep ever.
Dude, Sleep Number's rock!! They are a little more expensive, but worth every penny. I have three slipped disc's and sciatic pain in my hips. It got until I couldn't sleep. . . not anymore. I'll never go back to an inner-spring mattress.

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
t-man, The reason BASS is in this shape is because they are owned by ESPN. Maybe they should sell the BASS to someone who cares. I agree with everyone else that they did a horrible job with the coverage. It was hard to tell if I was watching the same coverage as the day before because of all the "special interest" stories that were played and replayed. The time slots. . . give me a break. Perhaps not a "live" weigh-in, but play it at 7:00 P.M. instead of 9 (CST). BTW, with all our gripes, how about each one of us e-mail ESPN with complaints. Perhaps send one to Purolator and Toyota as well voicing our concerns.
