Hangover cures?!
That's exactly what I was going to post. It's worked for me for over 12 years. I was not the kind of guy who could have "just a few". I was always having "just a few too many", so I had to give it up. Heck, the only reason I ever started drinking was to get drunk in the first place. Watch the bottle man, it'll mess you up if you let it!! (IMO) God bless, Fisher

Favorite Cologne
Over the years, I have worn different colognes, but of late I don't wear any very often. I guess after marriage, I don't see as much a need as before. I have worn Polo, Drakar (which I really liked), Curve (most recently). I'll use some aftershave lotion (Gilette Cool Blue, I think) occasionally after shaving. The most likely times I'll wear cologne or after shave is when I trim my beard and mustache (before bed ) It kind of sends a subliminal message to my wife. . . BTW, it doesn't always work. ;D

those "as seen on TV" products
Does anyone else just want to choke the bearded guy who does the orange clean commercials? My word, does he have to YELL all the time? I did purchase an "Utrasound Pest Device" one time off of HSN. Believe it or not, the thing worked pretty good for about 4 years. Everything else I've bought off of TV has been junk. Even if it is something I want, I'll wait about six months for it to come out at WM for half the price. If you're really patient, you can wait a year and get it really cheap. At least then, you don't feel so bad if it's junk.

Who's your favorite bass pro,old or young.
1. Jimmy Houston, 2. Hank Parker. I know there are other, more successful anglers out there, but I just like these two guys. They seem like good all-around classy guys, IMO.

Cabelas story... I'm speechless
I got a $10 gift card from them in the mail today, and I really haven't bought much from them since opening in Fort Worth. Go figure. Maybe I need to send more of my business their way.

Take me fishing Daddy....
Those are great pics and a great message JB. Those are some very special times when we get to fish with our kids. I cherish many memories of fishing with my dad and grandma. Those times were very special to me. . . and yes, thanks to our veteran's for allowing us these privileges. God bless, Fisher

definition of a cold front
I agree with what they've said. Before a front can be a great time to catch bass. They can sense a change coming and will often turn on right before the front pushes through. If the front is not real strong, the fishing will get slower, but can still be really good. A couple of years ago, a buddy and I continued to catch good numbers after a wind shift to the north. We caught all of them right up tight in the reeds and grass. Don't pack it in when a front comes, just get in tight with your baits and fish a little slower.

Tips for fishing with kid.
Ditto to most of everyone's comments!! I agree with bait fishing for whatever bites (brem, crappie, etc.) I take my 7 year old daughter with me and she's really good with one of those mini-strike king spinners. A cheaper alternative is an H&H or a Beetlespin (I caught hundreds on those as a boy). I'd stay away from treble hook lures until their really good at casting. A fisher at this stage needs to chunk and wind, so I'd stay away from t-rig worms and jigs for awhile. Provide them with the opportunities that their skill level and interests will allow. If you have sand (white) bass on a nearby lake, try to get in on them when they're surface feeding. That always excited me as a kid (still does).

Some of you guys have no clue!
IMO, No matter who catches it, they will be criticized no matter what. That's just the way we've become as a society. We are skepticle of everything. So many crooked people have committed dishonest acts, we have been pre-programmed to feel that way about anyone who achieves something of World Record status. It is sad that we can't take anyone's word anymore. The pope himself could catch the world record bass while a crowd of thousands watched him and he would still be criticized. That's just the way we are. As far as the opportunity to make $$$ off of this record, there is no doubt that, in the right hands, alot of money could be made. I don't know about a million dollars, but obviously there is no question that thousands could be made from it. This guy knew what he was doing. He would have went after the $$$ had questions not arose regarding snagging the fish. If no-one else would have witnessed this event, he would be applying for the record. In this case, the California tourism industry is going to be the winner. And, it will be just a matter of time before this comes up again.

HELP, I have a hole in my boat!!
Thanks guys!! Yes, I am proud of my aggies. I hope we can hang with LSU later today. From the looks of that Glenn Davis it might be hard to contain him though. It's still a big accomplishment to make the top 32. With Gillespie and a program with some energy, we'll get better. I hope the same for our football program. Guys, thanks for all the tips. The weather is wet here and I won't be able to get back into my fishing hole for a few days due to the mud anyway. I'm considering two or three solutions. I'll get back to you with my results. -Fisher

HELP, I have a hole in my boat!!
:'( I got home from the lake yesterday after having a really fun day with my wife and seven year old daughter to find my needle noses (or corner of seat hinge) poked a small hole (about the size of a BB) in the bottom of my 1 year old jonboat. :'( I know there are several options to take, but what is the BEST and MOST PERMANENT way to repair this hole. If this were my old waterscamp, I'd be trimming Dr. Pepper cans and sealing them on with marine Goop (it was so old and hole-ridden, it didn't matter), but this is what I take my family out in. I have learned to respect and trust the advice of my fellow BR buddies. Could someone offer some sound advice on how to fix the hole? I'm kind of bummed about this because the bass are beginning to spawn. :'(

BOW MOUNTED TROLLING MOTOR ON JON BOAT
Can't agree more Mo tick!! What a piece of junk!! I got mine at Cabela's with a gift card, so it didn't cost me anything. I've modified mine a little and still use it with some Qik-clamps. It looks awful, but works OK. I'm going to go with the 2X4 or something else soon.

Motor Guide trolling motor
I would think that Motorguide probably made that motor just for Wal-mart. I've found alot of other brand-name products at Wal-mart that don't match up with their "regular" line. I think Wal-mart contracts these companies to make products in volume for "special purchases". I run a 43 lb. motor on my 12 ft. jon and I do just fine on the lower speeds. I do enjoy having the higher speed to quickly motor over to different spots though.

BR.com challenges Charlie Moore- 6/7 update
LBH- Just a thought, but they probably don't even consider most of those challenges. I'm sure the producers of the show set up the challenges with "big-name" people. I don't catch the Charlie Moore show alot, but I've yet to see someone who isn't an athlete, singer, or other type of celebrity. I would imagine that the purpose of challenging everyone is to get some sense of viewership by the number of e-mails they receive. I am dissapointed in the fact that you didn't even get a form e-mail sooner. That' s pretty low-class of them. Have you tried contacting ESPN directly?

Two bass, one lure, one cast
I've done this a couple of times. I've caught two little dink bass (less than 8") on a Chug bug once, and I've caught two sand bass on a crankbait (one was real small, the other about 1 pound). T-Mike, did you win the tournament that day?

Help my wife has been bitten
Benzo73: I've had my eye on that Tahoe Q4SF for a year or so too. You don't see many of them on the used market, which I would take as good. My wife loves to fish and she's probably been my #1 fishing partner since we got married. My daughter is 7 and loves to fish, too, but about an hour of casting with few bites will burn her out. I'd like her to have something else to do (like tubing and swimming, when they quit biting). I also like the fuel economy compared to an outboard.

my buddy's record size tackle box
Now, now Raul. You know it's the Red River! We were once Mexico, too!! ;D

weather, pressure, moons
Woah, that was shaky for a moment. :-/ Raul, I just had a thought. When I watch the weather here in the DFW area, it seems like our cold fronts usually stall out about Brownsville. They very seldom penetrate the valley region of Texas, although they have in the past. So, are you ever affected by a front? Also, respecting both of your opinions, Raul, do you think IF moon phases could affect bass, perhaps the bass in Mexico are not affected because of the mild climate there. My opinion is that the full moon does seem to take it's toll on daytime bass fishing (based on my opinion here in North Texas). I'm not sure of new moons or last quarters. Research does show that the full moon will trigger the spawn, which, personally I've never quite got a handle on. -FOM

Just Dreaming - but it could happen
Will, that's pretty cool looking. Where can you buy such a thing? Cody, I've seen that livewell rig before, but for over 200 bucks, I'll stick to a cooler and a portable aerator.

need a picture and your alone
That's the whole point of the phone service companies. They don't want you to be able to download it. I'm sure you can send it on the "cell-web" for a small fee (say $3.00 or so per download). That way they can snooker you into an extra $20 a month for internet service on your phone. That was the thing on my Motorola. The software's available, just not on Cingular's website (wonder why?). You guys are missing the main point. Being by yourself IS the excuse. "I didn't get a picture of that 15 pounder because I was by myself. If you'd of only been there to take the picture. Maybe next time!!" : Honestly though, when I make a point to pack the camera, I don't catch any "photo-worthy" fish. It seems that I only catch them when I don't have it (none of them are REALLY big, but they are "photo-worthy").

Anyone have any pet bass?
The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas has many bass in outdoor ponds with a glass side that can be viewed from inside. On one visit there one time, a couple of guys who worked there told me they would observe the bass inside the tank/pond to watch their behavior (top/bottom, relating to cover, etc.). They fished on Lake Athens which is less than a mile from the hatchery. They claimed watching these bass helped them catch more in the lake.
