  1. Absolutely awesome fish! That's awesome you got to share the experience with your dad. Of course if you're dad can't make the next trip and you need a partner. : ;D Thanks for sharing.
  2. Anyone planning on going down solo? I'm seriously considering but will be going it alone.
  3. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope everryone's holiday is safe and filled with fun.
  4. LOL. Not joking though. Can't wait to see the reactions I get.
  5. Nice fish. Sounds like a win/win!
  6. Welcome to the forum! So to keep the string going. What did the Peacock in your pic weigh?
  7. Awesome fish! Thanks for posting.
  8. Are we fishing here or declaring war on the Largemouth Bass. ;D
  9. Nice fish. Those Senkos really do the trick.
  10. Yes. My stomach drops every time. You know it's a good fish and before you know it, it's gone. I"m in the quick hook set category. I don't like to give em to much time to spit out the bait.
  11. It's Lake Ellis in Athol, MA. I don't know how big but pretty decent size. Not very deep though. I think it maxes out at 15ft with an average of about 5-6. From what I've heard there's some big fish in the lake. Can't wait for next spring.
  12. Great story. I haven't been fishing long and am not that old but big fish we're still being caught before all the high tech equipment. You can have all the equipment in the world but it doesn't do any good if you don't know how to use it.
  13. Actually I caught 2 others off that brush that same day about the same size as the one in the pictures. To the left it comes out to a point which I thought would be good but I haven't caught any there yet. I was sitting in a cove. To the left of the picture is quite a few downed trees. I'm suspecting there's some bigger ones deep but that lake is so weedy it's hard to get to em'. If it stays warm this week I'm going to rig a worm and try to get at em'. All 3 of these were caught on a Rapala shallow shad rap perch.
  14. Pictures are dated. None to big but I'm just happy to still be fishing in northern Mass in mid November. ;D
  15. This may get moved but wasn't real sure where to put it. Some pretty cool videos from Aqua-vues website. http://www.naturevisioninc.com/aquavu/aquavideo2/index.html
  16. I haven't checked it out yet so I don't know how much truth there is to it or if there is a catch but a buddy of mine told me amazon is selling these for $100 on Thanksgiving day. Just an FYI
  17. LOL. Truer words were never spoken. We have 2 brown labs now and have lost a few shoes over the years. They are great dogs though. You'll have lots of fun.
  18. From one newbie to another. Welcome to the boards!
  19. My vote is biased also but I have a 14 foot jon boat and I love it. I would have to say though if you get a jon boat try and get one that's wide. Mine is pretty narrow and can be tricky walking from one end to the other.
  20. I was watching Bill Dance yesterday and I swear wherever he was fishing the fished looked like they were almost blue on top. I know they weren't but they were but they were a weird shade of green. Pretty intersting stuff.
  21. Awesome story! Very moving.
  22. Thanks for all the info guys. I've talked to people that have loved the Clunn and I've talked to and have heard from even more people that like the Shimano and after all it is a Shimano. I'll be going with the Shimano. Unfortunately I'll probably have to wait until spring to use it. :
  23. I'm gonna go 7lbs even.
  24. Nice! That must of been pretty fun to bring in. I don't care what anybody says. I love catching these things. They come out of nowhere and just nail the bait. Any idea what it weighed.
