  1. Congrats on your pb. If you practice catch and release you can catch em again. Nice catch!
  2. Hell why not? I don't understand lol the water is clear. Nearly 15 foot visibility
  3. Feel free to add your whys lol
  4. You can find em used for 100. I think new this one was like 180 or so. The pvc rod rack cost me 25 bucks in material and allows for 3 rod storage. My sonar is a heavy jig. Plenty of storage. Get some flippers! I got this project for less than 100
  5. I've thought about that. Are you fishing in extremely clear water? How about water over 20 feet. Why straight braid? How are your results? Please elaborate.
  6. Braid to leader or straight fluoro for drop shot
  7. I always use a trailer. I vary the trailer to change the weight action or color.
  8. I fish off float tubes and kayaks when I'm not in my boat or want access to better waters lol practice a role cast. I can role cast good enough to quietly present a jig. Punching is tuff and even tuffet after you hook up. On a boat you are way above the fish and can pull her up and out. On a seated platform you are pulling the fish laterally towards you. I use the role cast instead of a pitch when fishing seated. Practice it and you can get your bait to stay low and enter the water fairly soft.
  9. Dobyns 734 fury, savy or Sierra
  10. Expensive is relative. A 109 dollar fury is nor expensive lol To me these are working class utilitarian rods with a great warranty.
  11. 7ft 3 or 7ft 6 medium heavy to heavy fast action depending on bait weight. I personally use a dobyns 734 champion.
  12. Dobyns are pretty much my brand of choice. casting or spinning? I would not recommend a 3 power rod for anything with a weed gaurd or wormin. For versatility I would recommend a 734. I use the 734 for EVERYTHING! Spinner baits, small swimbaits, lighter t rigs and bubba shot to name a few. Back to your original question. For worms and jigs I can't recommend the 735 enough! Dobyns rods are on the soft side so don't be afraid of the mag heavy ratting!
  13. Hmmm I have to disagree with most of these guys. I fish off a 12 ft v hull flat bottom. I built casting decks and storage and have no problems with stability with two grown guys fishing. Sure the space is a bit limited and I don't bring 100 lbs of tackle and 15 rods but it works great! Sorry pics keep posting sideways lol
  14. No problem using braid is all about line diameter
  15. I fish ponds just like lakes. I look for any structure or cover and start there. I usually start big this time of year. 10 inch worms and mattlures gills then move on to drop shot or finesse worms. Maybe a frog. Depends on the pond. Weeds? Rocks? Etc
  16. 10 lb braid is the diameter of 2 lb mono! ? WAY to light of line for a baitcaster! Try 30lb and up!
  17. I have yet to try the ned rig. I was under the impression it was a bottom contact finesse technique? Is it more of a horizontal slow moving retrieve?
  18. How many hours have you fished this body of water without a catch?
  19. Just get the tatula then upgrade the worm gear bushings to bearings and add two bearings to the knobs and bam you are in business!!!! Hedgehog has a bunch of colored duralumin parts for these reels. I have a tatula with lime green screws, worm gear shaft etc it matches my fury perfect lol
  20. And why do you fish g loomis? It doesn't make a difference right?
  21. Ouch didn't say that. I'm sure you could fish a jig with an ugly stick and have some success.
