Mend it vs gorilla glue
FISHNTECH out of Quebec carry Mend-It. Mend-It stays soft when applied, most glues dry hard to the touch.

Nightcrawlers
I am surprised that no one mentioned injecting air .... or maybe they did and i missed it. In my neck of the woods, we call it "Blow Worm Fishing" .... deadly on trout.

Do we hurt our success?
I agree with @Catt When the fishing is tough, lure changes and movement are more frequent. As you dial them in, lure changes and movement are less frequent.

24v Trolling Motor Wiring
At the batteries, if you join the two Reds together at the start of your 24V System and the two Blacks together at the end of your 24 Volt System then do the same at the plug in, it is now straight 24V. Just bring power through two wires instead of one.

Agreed .... at the very least, use the large clips that pass under the gill plate. Glenn (Bass Resource) has a great video on this method.

Did I do thaaaat?
I posted this last year but it is just that stupid I will tell you again. I had left the boat outside last summer hooked to the truck, ready for an early morning drive to a club tournament. About 30 minutes into the trip I asked my brother, "Did you unplug the Battery Charger?" to which he replied, "NOPE!". 45 km of travel, we pull off to the side of the road and unplug the 50ft of Extension Cord we ripped out of the garage socket, tore the plug end off passing under the garage door and had been towing behind the truck since we left my house. Only in Canada Eh!

I have not fished Grand Lake ... been on the bucket list but haven't made it up there yet. It can get rough so make sure you play safe. Your four primary sport fish will be Landlock Salmon, Speckled Trout, Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass. Pickerel will be plentiful as well and will be caught on your smallmouth tackle. Good luck Bryan and don't be afraid to ask questions on any of the above species.

Hi Bryan, Welcome to the forum .... this is a great site and the Guys and Gals will get you on the right track. I see you are a New Brunswick native like myself. I live near St. George. Good luck with your new hobby, take it lightly and enjoy your retirement. And remember, there are no stupid questions ... ask away.

Geese Issues
A goose certainly does not replace your Christmas Turkey. To avoid wasting them, we remove the breast and have the local butcher make jerky. You would be surprised what a lot of spices and dehydration can do! Honestly, still not the greatest but tolerable.
