  1. That bluegill is awesome! I'm going to buy a couple more for spares!
  2. A lot of scammers to from what I saw when mom sold my dad's boat after he passed away.
  3. I love my swim jigs and chatterbaits, you can feel the chatterbait in your bones!
  4. But the swimming fluke is a paddle tail swimbait...
  5. I talked the wife into stopping on our way home from Michigan last Sunday, but we decided to detour and hit the Dundee store.
  6. I use the swimming fluke jr or the Little Dipper, but I find it I leave to luck hanging off the back they will grab the tail and not slam the whole thing. I like it to be about an inch past the skirt, but if you guys are doing good with 4" ones maybe I'm doing something wrong?
  7. "Never argue with an idiot, they'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"
  8. Sorry. In my defense I'd been working for my inlaws (out of state) all day, I was tired, it was late
  9. Go to @Siebert Outdoors and buy fogy. It's an awesome chatterbait, it has a strong vibration and it has caught me several fish and is holding up great, not to mention it's a lot cheaper than the Zman stuff.
  10. I meant just to move it around for parking it, not driving down the road without them I know it was silly, but I'd have a hard time selling that boat because of an issue with parking that can be solved.
  11. Sorry, I'd add 3' onto the back of my garage before I let that one go! It would be a lot of work but pulling the front axle tires off would eliminate the problem with the tandems.
  12. Because we all want our dead body to look cool! Nothings cooler than bluegill picking the flesh off your ribcage while your rotting corpse lays on the bottom of a lake... cool!
  13. I'm in the same proverbial boat. I bought a little bass raider cause everybody spoke so highly of them. With my big butt, my gear, and the battery and trolling motor, it's a pain in the neck to control it. I've only had it out twice but both times were pretty aggravating. I'm hoping that ditching the idea of using the trolling motor for control and just anchoring down will improve my odds a little.
  14. I fish a place like that, I have been killing them on the chatter bait and a bluegill swim bait. There is deeper water, but the majority of it is 3'-4' deep, my biggest so far is just a couple ounces shy of 3 pounds, but I've seen some pretty big ones in there to.
  15. You might check out this thread about the pelican style boats I've got one but unfortunately I've only been able to get it on the water twice, once with the wife and son, the other by myself, neither was a pleasant experience. The wife and boy aren't much into relaxing and fishing quietly, the second time I spent more time fighting the boat than actually fishing. One of these days I'm going to get it out and enjoy myself or die trying!
  16. Mom usually gets "a little annoyed" with his clothes, but I just tell her he's a boy, you should consider yourself lucky you can still see any skin!
  17. Bamabass says he catches a small one and pulls a 5 pound bass out of the water...
  18. No, well, there's nothing specific saying no but it's about 3/4 of a mile walk to get to it. The sign says no swimming, no you just can't fall out it averages about 3' deep so I guess you can walk across most of it. I was amazed at how many nice bass are in there.
  19. that's ok, I don't like intruding on non-secret honey holes... I fish a small quarry in a public park, most people don't know you can fish there so I get the same question anytime somebody sees me fishing, and my answer is always caught a couple, lots of little bluegill, a couple small bass... I never mention the string of 1 1/2-2 pound bass I catch on a regular basis, or the 3 I caught, or the fact I've seen some real bruisers in there, NEVER!
  20. So you're inviting me fishing? You're a heck of a guy!
  21. That bottom one is real nice, did you get a weight on any?
  22. Are you using top water in the morning? Switch to something moving, but lower in the water column, swim jig, chatterbait, or maybe try a senko if they've just shut down on you. I notice they bite good in the morning and evening, but during the height of the day they definitely slow down.
  23. I fished some realistic looking colors the other day in extreme clear water. I got nothing, I threw in a yellow and purple jerkbait (afaik, there's no yellow and purple fish in Indiana waters) and it got hammered. I think action and location is far more important than color.
  24. I had 1 spinning reel that clicked, it used to drive my dad crazy so I'd turn it on when he would aggravate me
  25. My wife works every other weekend so if I want to go fishing without getting the stink eye the boys going with me!
