What reel are you using for flipping?
Was using shimano Curado 200DHSV with 65# Sufix Braid now using Quantum PT Burner. I like the Quantum better. Personally, you shuoldnt be having any trouble with the reel. It doesnt really get that much of a workout. Did you ask REELMECH about your issue?

what octane gas do you run in your outboard?
I run 87 octane in my 200 HO etec. The dealer said DO NOT run anything higher or use any additives. I'll listen to them until someone more reputable says something different.

Let's talk Flipping Sticks
I just bought the Team AllStar BigBoy flippin stick. I liked it for 2 reasons, one it was 7 foot instead of 7'6" so i felt more confident with the shorter length plus it fits in my rod locker and also for the one piece design. Its a great rod. Very light with lots of feeling. i think it cost me $120.

How do you catch 'em?
thanks for the info guys!! i appreciate it!

what is more important...
I agree with MD angler. Buy one new rod and one new reel. This will allow you to cover more water with different techniques and will save you on line ties. They still have to happen, but less often!! And my vote is with the airrus rod, no comment on the reels of choice!!

Jackplate question??
I have a 2006 Stratos 294 with a ETEC 200 HO on a basic jackplate. Its only like 3 or 4 inches. But i noticed that the motor has not been adjusted on the jackplate. it is at the regular height. How do i determine if i need to move it up or down to affect my performance? Thanks for the help!!

How do you catch 'em?
Alright, im sure some of the answers will be long but im interested in how other people approach a piece of water they have never seen before in order to catch fish? Im not saying a limit of 15 inchers or anything, im just saying how do you catch fish on a piece of water you have never seen in your life? Do you take the weather in to concern? What baits do you use? Does the time of year determine your approach? Thanks for your help!!

New or Used Bass Boat
If you have owned a boat before then i would buy used. Even 05 model boats will have some great prices on them. I personally bought new because i had never owned a boat so i wanted the piece of mind of a warranty and knowing that the chances of anything major going wrong are less, and if something bad does happen, you take it in let them look at it and you probably wont have to pay anything out of pocket. thats just me. I looked at used boats as well, but i wanted a particular boat and model and they were hard to find for sale. Good luck!! oh, also, my engine choice would be the evinrude. The etec's are awesome and the few FICHT's that i see are running strong as well.

Sufix anybody have any opinions?
I was a total PowerPro guy until lately. I just bought myself a new flippin rig (Quantum PT Burner, Team All Star Big Boy 7') and decided to try the sufix braid. I love it. It rolls of the spool and guides MUCH better than powerpro. I give it 2 thumbs up!! i have not tried the mono yet, but i will soon!

motor question??
I took the boat out on Sunday. We went to lake yale in Eustis Florida. My motor (ETEC 200) was running pathetic. It would not go into gear up by the doc. I cant figure out what the problem is. This particular doc is at the end of a long tree lined canal. Its only about 2.5 feet deep and the water is very murky and filled with stuff from the trees and such. The motor would idle fine but when i went to put it in gear it would just die. So we trolled on out of the canal and started fishing for a while. Then i decided to try and start again. We are now in open water. It idles fine but died twice before i finally told my buddy to hang on and as soon as i got it in gear i jammed it and got on plane. I felt like if i could just run it it would clean itself out. It ran just fine after that until we got back to the doc. Then it started doing the same darn thing. Any ideas what the problem was? The weather was very humid, very foggy. I did flush the motor when i got home and it seemed to idle just fine. one other question, once i flush the motor how can i check and see if there is any debris that can harm the motor. Also, how can i clean out the pisser on the back of the motor? Thanks for your help folks!!

Citica200D vs. Advantage Super Tuned
Throw my vote in on the 200D. I have 2 Curado 200DHSV's and i just added 2 200D's to my collection as well. I have not done alot of fishing with them but i do like the way they feel in my hand. I feel its a great reel for the price!

spinnerbait rod?
ill agree with alpster. i use a 6 foot shimano clarus rod for my spinnerbaits (60 bucks) but its just a basic all around rod. problem is you lose distance because of the length. I would get a 6'6" med hvy with a fast action rod. this will allow you some more length on your cast and this is also a good rod to fish jerk baits with and also not bad on a topwater lure. good luck.

Best Outboard on the Market
well, this is my first boat so i cant say much except for so far i love the etec. i have driven some late model yammies that are very good motors. when i started shopping for a boat i was shopping for a yammie but the etec felt good under my foot.
