  2. Old timer, Denny Braer New timer, Kelly Jordon
  3. Wecome aboard Mike!! I'll contact you later about Stratos boats!!
  4. Thanks Mr. Hannon for coming aboard. I cant wait to ask some questions. Thanks BassResource.com for adding yet another great feature to this website and forum.
  5. 4 set ups for now. i will probably add atleast 2 more at the end of december, duh! 2 Shimano curado 200DHSV on Shimano rods 1 Shimano cardiff 300A on a shimano rod 1 old Shimano Coriolis on a Shakespeare rod ( i would love if someone could tell me what year this reel is from. I picked it up out of the bottom of my tackle box after not touching it for about 6+ years and it still works great. this is one reason i use Shimano)
  6. Excellent video! I want to show that video to my wife and friends that dont fish and tell them, "That is why i fish!"
  7. Low Budget, wont they have to pay their states sales tax once they go to register their boat?? (after getting no tax in NH)
  8. I know this may be a crazy question but i was wondering if anyone here has ever bought a NEW boat out of state, preferably if you live in Florida. I have found i can save about 4 to 5 grand by buying my boat out of state a little farther north. Has anyone ever done this and if so what did it involve as far as registering, title, taxes, etc.? any help, tips, suggestions, opinions are greatly appreciated! thanks. :-?
  9. Yeah, trailer will definetly have brakes. I guess my main conern is the way single axle trailers tend to bounce when going down the road. I ve just noticed how tandem axles ride better. But i agree, why pay for it if you dont need it. Stratos printed hull weight is 1700 lbs so i figure with some gear and an engine your looking at probably 2300 or 2400 lbs.
  10. I am looking at 19 to 19 and a half foot fishing boat, probably new. Some have tandem axles already and some dont. ( i am pretty much set on a Stratos 294 Pro XL) Most of the manufacturers offer the tandem axle on their 19.5 foot boats as an option. Based on your alls experience and know how do you feel a tandem axle trailer is necessary on a boat of this length? Some things to consider: On a regular basis, i will NOT be traveling more than say, 100 miles to my fishing destination. I will possibly once a year take a road trip out of state to a fishing destination. 90% of my fishing will be done with in 60 miles of my house. I live in Orlando and there are railroad tracks EVERYWHERE!! LOL! Thanks for the info and opinions! :-?
  11. tuff question. Id say 2 stroke. Especially if your doing any tournaments. It will get you to your spot faster. I would also go with the max allowable horsepower.
  12. Ditto on both the C-rig and Drop shot!! >
  13. For ease of use, i would say practice on a skitter walk. I myself just bought my first "spook" bait. And i hope im not the only person left on earth that still watches, but Bill Dance Outdoors just had a show on the versus channel (OLN) about the spook bait and walking the dog. Keep your eye out for it. im sure it will repeat.
  14. I agree with Maltese Falcon on my local Orlando BPS, and also with Hillbilly_Hooker on the state of large corps. However, i do not think you can compare BPS with Wal-Mart. I too will do all i can to NOT go to the mart. But BPS has never been accused of hiring illegal immigrants or providing poor health care and low wages (to my knowledge, anyway). Now, i am not trying to affend anyone who works at the mart or BPS or any other "subject" i have mentioned, its just my opinion. A good example of Hillbillys statements is Plapps Pro Outdoors. Im sure they started out small, and still may be compared to BPS, and there arent any in Florida, BUT, i know about them because they have and elite series boat wrapped with their logos. Just my 2 cents.
  15. Lucky is an understatement! I mean, i have my own room very similar, but not heated and cooled!
  16. I hope this isnt a stupid question. The last couple of reels i bought at BPS i had them spool the reel. (this was with power pro). Today i went and got a new set up and i am gonna try the Yo-Zuri hybrid for the first time. I was not happy with the spools i got from BPS so i am going to spool my own reel this time. I was wondering what knot do you use to spool your reels with (when attaching the line to the reel) and also any tips or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks for your help guys and gals! :-?
  17. good question. i was wondering the same about rods.
  18. I've got a question. I currently keep all my tackle, rods, and reels inside the house. I have a shop area built on to the back of my house that is NOT temperature controlled. It is closed in with a door to it from my garage. I live in Orlando Florida. So if it is 90 degrees outside, its about 92 degrees in my shop. If its 40 outside, its about 40 in my shop. Would it be a bad idea to keep my equipment in this shop of mine or should i stick to keeping it in side at temperature controlled levels? Thanks for your help. :-/
  19. Look at the shimano Cardiff reel. A good all metal bodied reel for 100 bucks. They have 3 different reels to choose from depending on line capacities. I used it when i started fishing salt but use it now as well for bass fishing.
  20. Just trying to get a good discussion going. I was wondering what your alls favorite fishing line is to use. I currently use power pro and have been relatively happy with it. I am thinking of trying fluorocarbon in the future. thanks for your opinions.

Ive got to say i went with the Rapala pliers as well. Have worked great so far. They dont cut worth a darn but hey, i spent about 10 bucks or something on them and then went to Wal mart and bought me a nice pair of titanium bladed scissors to cut my braided line with, about 6 bucks in the crafts dept.
  22. thanks for your 2 pennys billybob. After looking at the 294 Stratos last week that was ready to go, i was pretty much hooked. I am gonna schedule a wet test in the near future to see how it does on the water.
  23. Cart7, thanks for the web address. I will check it out. So, Catt, you are basically saying that you would give your edge to the Stratos overall. Even with the shorter length you feel the stratos will ride better in rough water? I appreciate the info folks this is what im looking for!!
