  1. Same here! Quaker Oats with vanilla extract or strawberry koolaid mixed in. Allen
  2. Have you considered the Owner ones? Allen
  3. You mean that 15 year old kid giving tips out of his parents basement on a crankbait that has been out 2 weeks isn't legit? Allen
  4. Those are my favorite as well but they are not cheap. I have started making some from a modified Do-It mold that look promising. Using a size 1 or 1/0 5318 Owner lite wire hook with 17lb titanium leader wire as the weedguard. Allen
  5. 4.8" worm with either a 1/16 or 3/32oz jighead. Allen
  6. Pro Staff Special is perfect match trailer for bluegill colored swimjigs. Allen
  7. Bands for jigs I don't expect to last beyond one trip and wire for things like swim jigs. Now I have been using those turbo style skirts and there are two bands which hold up a lot better. The amber bands are the worst at dry rotting and falling off. Allen
  8. For crankbaits anything more than 8 FOW SK outfishes everything I have including LC and Megabass. The best lipless baits in my box were bought for $0.99 out of the bargin bin. Allen
  9. There is a sad update to my post from a decade ago. My favorite Lunker Lure buzzbait fell victim to a savage Tiger Musky attack and was destroyed. Allen
  10. That bait I made the hook hangers myself except for the belly weight which is a BPS tube weight. I use the screw in eyes to create the holes then epoxy in the hook hangers with Devcon 2 Ton. Nothing has came apart so far but then again I haven't caught anything of size on them either. Allen
  11. Re-Paint with fingernail polish and you will be fine. Allen
  12. Use the same color jig as you do soft plastics to start then expand from there. Allen
  13. Here is what I have. Allen
  14. If you are bending hooks do not bend back in the same place but bend like the ones in the pic below. Allen
  15. I have some 30 degree Mustad 91762 1/0 BLN hooks that are straight eyed sproat hooks. Let me take a pic of one I get home from work and I will post. Allen
  16. LC Gunfish 95mm. Allen
  17. Hawg Catcher! No seriously I have no idea about this particular bait but I have yet to find a SK bait in the numbered series that doesn't work. Allen
  18. We don't need 99% of what we have to catch bass, it is a hobby. My time on the water is limited so I would rather pay $15 for a topwater that works correctly than $1 for one I spend half the day tuning. The other question is how many topwaters does the average person lose? I figured it out and I have lost 5 since 1987 so the cost isn't that big of a factor. Allen
  19. Zoom and Havoc line of soft plastics are inexpensive and catch plenty of fish. Crankbaits I recommend Sk, Bandit, and Norman as they are great for the cost. Spinnerbaits I would try SK and Booyah as those 2 cover most situations. Allen
  20. Wire drill brush works but I am getting tired of the constant clogging. Right now I am using a small ladle that was like $6 and it pours great. Allen
  21. Does it take straight or flateye hooks? Allen
  22. I am the exact opposite, spinnerbaits work in many different situations but I cannot buy a bite on the chatterbait.
  23. The one in my avatar is what I use for clear water. Like others have said speed is your friend in clear water. Allen
  24. SM are aggressive and will hit larger baits than you think. I have caught 6" SM on a 110mm jerkbait before so go ahead and try them. Allen
  25. Put it in the livewell then take it out after 15 minutes and it will be a different color. They change color based on their environment. Allen
