  1. Last time I tried this when the paint cured it stuck the wire to the weight. When I pulled the wire out it chipped the paint around the point to a sharp edge. Allen
  2. Sure hope it warms up soon! I would be happy with just getting the snow and ice off my boat cover at this point. Allen
  3. Those names mean nothing to me and I just sort them by weight. Allen
  4. This is the best advice you can get for fishing Lake Seneca from the shore. There is a lot of water and it is hard to cover in a boat. Allen
  5. Cunnigham Falls State Park is where I would start personally. There are both bass and trout in the lake and it is easy to fish from shore. Allen
  6. I have been experimenting with bullet weights myself. The ones I have are too shiney but they were so cheap I couldn't pass them up. The BPS GP painted ones are $4 per 10 and I bought these for $0.50 a bag of 12. Tried putting a bags worth in a plastic bottle with some Coke to dull them. It worked but not very well and they were in there for about two weeks. On a saltwater forum a guy mentioned using Drano which I may try? Powder painting is the best option but the hole gets painted shut or the piece of wire that holds the weight fuses to it. If all else fails I will just spray paint them with a can of OD primer like before. Doesn't hold up the best but some days they do not last long enough to lose their paint. Allen
  7. This should be a kept at the top! The only thing I can add is that the amber collars dry rot quicker than any other color. Allen
  8. You can bend the blades back some and they will spin easier. Holding the rod tip high helps as well from what I remember. Allen
  9. Dark gray when the sun is out and amber for low light conditions. I bought a couple pairs of the SK S11 glasses cheap and keep them in the boat glove box. Allen
  10. Looks good and I will have to try some. Do they make one in a smoke color? Allen
  11. When I have 3/8oz custom spinnerbait mold made they just used the weight of the lead itself. Most spinnerbaits weigh twice what the package says. Allen
  12. Do you have anymore of those live pointers in ghost minnow? Allen
  13. They have been clearancing them around here for like $4 each. Allen
  14. http://www.amazon.com/Renegade-TOURNAMENT-CULL-SYSTEM/dp/B00CF11C0E I just bought one of these and replaced the clips with those from a metal stringer. One thing I learned is to sharped the tip of the clips so they are easier to punch through the fishes mouth. Allen
  15. Doesn't the cork get glued to the metal rod? Allen
  16. Maybe anglers but most but businesses buy from GLC Fishing including Charles at Fishingskirts.com. http://www.glcfishing.com/folders.asp Try the link above and see if you recognize any of the names under the link columb. Allen

Try a War Eagle or similar bait with smaller willow blades for clear water. The bait in my Avatar I made to fish clear water and it has worked when I could see the bottom at 20'. As for spinnerbait vs squarebill vs swimjig I find that they just prefer one over the others that day. Generally I try all three and just stick with whatever is working. Last spring I could not buy a bite on a crank but was catching them on a spinnerbait in clear water. Fished the Lower Potomac which is mud colored and a white swim jig outfished the other two 10-1. 18. 6" to 3' depending on the conditions but like others said it is trial and error. If I just need a starting length then 12 - 18" is what I use. Allen
  19. http://www.glcfishing.com/ Here is where most places get their skirts or skirt material from. The last time I checked they had 100's of colors so if they don't have it? Allen
  20. That quit making the flat living rubber material years ago. That stuff they call flat rubber that comes in tabs is the worst stuff I have ever used for jigs. Allen
  21. Mudhole will have blanks that are like $10 each but you have to buy like 3 of them at a time. Allen
  22. This is one of the best videos out there to actually learn something. The other ones I would recommend are the KVD spinnerbait ones as they are great. Most of the videos you just watch someone fishing for two hours. Allen
  23. Gamber fire hall one on I think the 28th of February? Allen
  24. Zip ties is a quick fix, tieing down with thread or wire is harder but they last. That green floro wire works but it will rust so try finding some copper wire. Allen
  25. They have the Yamamoto ones for like $6 http://www.overstockbait.com/gary-yamamoto-senko-7/ Allen
