Depends. I fish 'Lake X' a lot, and since it's private, I usually take a 6 pack with me. I have a tradition of drinking a beer after I catch my first fish, regardless of time. I've never had more than 4 beers in one full day of fishing. That was a couple years ago. Usually, I only have a couple.

I have to hand it to some of these guys, wont fish other's waters and possibly catch a fish that will mess with their chances to win. What other sport has that type of respect?

Not a changable gear ratio. Two different reels. What is changable is the casting control, with 3 modes.

I agree with many of the responses here, your boat is just one of the factors to consider when fishing big water. I fish the Delta here quite a bit, and honestly what concerns me the most is other boaters. There are many, many inexperienced boaters out there as well as boaterts that seemingly just dont give a you know what. You can know your limits, but unfortunately it can be other boaters that can cause you serious problems. Keep your eyes open, and in general the larger the boat you're in the safer you will be.

A couple from Montana were out riding on the range, he with his rifle and she (fortunately) with her camera. Their dogs always followed them, but on this occasion a Mountain Lion decided that he wanted to stalk the dogs (you'll see the dogs in the background watching). Very, very bad decision. The hunter got off the mule with his rifle and decided to shoot in the air to scare away the lion, but before he could get off a shot the lion charged in and decided he wanted a piece of those dogs. With that, the mule took off and decided he wanted a piece of that lion. That's when all hell broke loose for the lion. As the lion approached the dogs, the mule snatched him up by the tail and started whirling him around. Banging its head on the ground on every pass. Then he dropped it, stomped on it and held it to the ground by the throat. The mule then got down on his knees and bit the thing all over a couple of dozen times to make sure it was dead, then whipped it into the air again, walked back over to the couple (who were stunned in silence) and stood there ready to continue his ride as if nothing had just happened. Fortunately, even though the hunter didn't get off a shot, his wife got the pictures.

I travel yearly, out of the country to fish. I've seen my rod tube stepped on, leaned on, taken apart and put back together yet I have never had a rod broken. The Flambeau Bazooka Pro is the only rod tube I will ever use. Even if you aren't taking that many rods, the larger tube is more forgiving and stronger in my opinion than the regular bazooka tube.
