I third the Senko comments. When all else fails, weightless rigging a Senko is tough to beat.

Use what gives you confidence. I switch from $10 Daiwa lipless crankbaits to $4 Speed Traps. Fish don;t care what you spend on your lures.

Are you fishing a lake, river, or reservoir? I normally head for the areas with current. I use a heavy action 7 ft rod, 1.5 oz hair raiser in white with a white tail, and good strong reel with minimum 30 lb braid.

Sounds interesting. I swear by braid because of issues I have had with flouro, I may have to try that line.
