Hey guys, I've been buried up to my neck in work lately and haven't posted a whole lot. I received a nice PM from Muddy asking if I was ok and LBH keeps telling me to stop working. That day will not come for a while. It's nice to know that I have made some good friends on this board that care enough to check up on me and see if I am still alive. You guys are GREAT!

One of the new Stella 2007 shallow spool reels with as long a rod as you can handle. The reel goes for ~ $600. You said price was no object....

I have one of the All Star Zell Rowland spinnerbait rods. It's nice but heavy compared to all my other rods.

I don't know the name of this lake off the Rio *****, but it was FULL of big peacocks and was absolutely beautiful.

I could not agree with you more. We don't NEED Ranger boats, Steez rods, or $300 Abel pliers. But I will tell you what. If I don't catch any fish, it's always fun to tinker with my gear. Sorry I've been absent lately guys, work has been insane.

So I broke down and bought a swimbait rod. I figure that the lures are similar to muskie lures so I bought a GLoomis Muskie rod MUR914CX-MB. It's IMX graphite and fairly light compared to other broomstick rods that are on the market. I've paired it up with a Shimano Calcutta TE 300.

Ronnie, The world record landlocked striper was caght at the O'Neill Forebay here in CA, 67 lbs! That place is 30 minutes away from my front door.
