  1. ok thanks, I wasn't sure if 30lb would be too thin but if it works for you I'm sure I can make it work. Thanks Alright that makes sense, will do. Hopefully I can figure out this baitcaster in time for the spring spawn
  2. my baitcaster tension knob won't click after I took it off to check to make sure it was lubricated. it is an Abu Garcia pro max 3. here are some pics by the way the 2 pics of the gold part are the same part just different angles
  3. pro max 3 is what I have, it's okay for the money. just be warned it has a smaller line capacity, about 145 yards of 12 lb monofilament line.
  4. so I have a cheap-ish baitcaster hoping to learn how to use it. COMPLETE DISASTER!! Backlash after Backlash. I am better at it now but I am switching to braid on my baitcaster. I'm getting a 7 foot Medium action rod. I wanted to use 40 lb braid because I'm fishing in weeds but won't that break the rod because it's only a Medium action??
  5. I mean sure, who doesn't use a jig-treble-creature beat with a bobber too...
  6. I tried the Pflueger President Limited Edition, It wasnt great. Switching to Daiwa. I like the RG-AB
  7. dont want to have inferior technology right...?
  8. I want to thank everyone for helping me get my kayak. Especially the people who said to look in store. I found a perception odyssey 11.5 sit in for 200$ off. thanks everyone who commented on my forum and put up with my repeat "is this kayak good" threads over and over again. Good Luck fishing -largemouth21
  9. Found a perception Odyssey for 200$ off. It's a sit in, not my first choice but it wil work fine. Anybody ever used the Perception Oddesey 11.5ft sit inside kayak?
  10. Yeah i figured I finally learned to tie it... It really wasnt as hard as I thought. Way easier than when I had to learn the Uni-Uni knot. I went ahead and started learning the palomar. I use the single palomar because it's stronger than double palomar. FOR MONO! They found that an improved palomar was stronger for braid though. Read Salt Lifes article here -----> http://tiny.cc/bfanother sitey Never thought about using those as fishing weights before. Good luck that should save you some money
  11. Haha thats a big fly, maybe muskies or something? On a more serious note, thanks for the response.
  12. Yes, its an old post but how is the knot strength on that? Just curious
  13. bass resource only wants us to use certain sized picture of video files. How do we resize these files to make them small enough to post on here. Any suggestions Im sure other people have this question too. Thanks!
  14. Oh ok... Thanks I'm a little slow ? also that only applies for the double Polamar right? Salt Life did a test and the single Polamar was actually better for mono and the double was better for braid... I researched an could not find anything except for people raving about how great this knot is. I will probably only use this knot for dropshots in all honesty. But anyway what are people saying it's not good for. What are the pros and cons, in other words. Thanks for the reply
  15. What do you mean by that I am confused thanks for the reply.
  16. I read somewhere that the polomar knot is only for braid and mono won't work right, is that true?
  17. I suppose I will just learn the polomar. I have all winter... thanks for researching those hooks though. Yep you are right, tried to tie it and hook would lean at very odd angle.
  18. I am hoping to start getting into fishing with artificials and one of the 'tactics' I am going to try is dropshotting, I would rather not learn the Polamar knot because it usually takes me a long time to learn knots. Can you tie a drop shot with the Trilene knot?
  19. I recently was in your shoes trying to decide on a budget kayak. I decided on the Emotion Stealth 11 Angler. Haven't bought it yet, will update later to say if I like it or not. Hope you are able to decide and happy fishing
  20. Ok thanks. I will research those paddles thanks for the response
  21. Thanks for the response That looks like a good paddle, BUT I cant afford that much. Do you know any about 50$ give or take. I just want something durable and semi-light. Im NOT paddling very far so it doesnt have to be super light. Thanks, will do
  22. 50$ give or take a couple. Thanks for the reponse.
  23. X2 I know what you mean. People like that (who litter) give us anglers a bad name.
