What type of line do you prefer to use on your spinning set ups and why? I have one set up that will be used for small jerkbaits and other small harbaits, and one that will be used for all around light soft plastic work. I'm between braid with leader, straight fluoro, or straight Yo-Zuri Hybrid. 

I have one spooled up with Yo-Zuri Hybrid and two with braid and a Tatsu leader.  I think the Yo-Zuri performs better with bottom contact (Senko, Fat Ika and Rage Tail Baby Craw). For weighted baits the braid/ fluoro leader works just fine. A big advantage to the braid/ leader combination is fishing "brand new" line (leader) on every outing.

 

I prefer braid with no leader unless around rocks. If you are fishing rocks then I you could add a leader or just go with flouro/yo-zuri. I also like braid for cranks because you can literally feel everything and Im not too worried about the lack of stretch on a spinning rod with trebles.

I go braid + leader on every one of my setups.

Spinning shines with this given braid's lack of 

management issues.

 

And @roadwarrior is spot on, you can tie a new

and different type of leader on whenever you want.

 

For leaders, I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid from 4-15# and

Gamma Edge fluoro in 6, 8, and 10# test. Also use

P-Line Floroclear, but less these days because I have

so much dang YZH laying around. The Gamma Edge

has actually been my go-to even over YZH lately.

I use braid with leader on all my spinning reels.

Same here....10lb Power pro on my ML outfits, and 15lb on my M power rigs. Leaders very from 6lb to 12lb depending on cover and/or presentation.

Braid + fluoro for longevity alone. I used to change out my fluorocarbon about every 2 to 3 trips (mainly a tournament guy). I can't imagine how much money I saved last year. I think I'm good to start with that same spool of braid this year too. Use mono backing before the braid to decrease costs more. No need for a full spool of braid.

Nanofil straight no leader.

Braid, usually with a leader but sometimes without.

My personal favorite is Berkley Original FireLine in 14 pound test (6 pound diameter) and a 4 foot leader of either P Line CXX in 10 pound test(it breaks around 23 pounds) or 8 pound fluoro. That is my go to setup except for one I use for jerkbaits. Here I like P LIne Halo in 6 or 8 pound test. It is all you need for them. Again the Halo breaks higher than it rates as.

15# & 30# PowerPro usually, with or without a leader

Izorline XXX 6# leader, and sometimes mainline.

Pline CXX 10# leader when I need more abrasion resistance.

I don't use flouro.

I'm in the minority around here but I use 8-10 braid on all my spinning gear and never use a leader. For my fishing, I have yet to find any condition where a leader would have helped me except for maybe a steel leader for pike. The stretchyness of mono and FC lines alone keeps me from using it. 

I like Sunline.

Yes, I use Sunline Super Sniper 7# for finesse spinning soft plastics, no braid. For finesse Slip and split shot I prefer a mono line that tends to float off the bottom to reduce snags and use Sunlines Natural mono 6# or 8# depending on the structure/cover.

Baitcasting I use Defier Armillo Nylon 25# line for swimbaits, 13# for crankbaits. Bottom lures like jigs and worms I use Sunline Shooter 10, 12 and 16# FC depending on structure/cover and size/weight of lure.

Braid I use Fins WindTamer line, 12# for spinning and 65# for baitcasting in cover.

Another vote for braid+fluoro leader and yo-zuri hybrid. 

 

I have 15# Power Pro Super Slick and 10# Seaguar InvizX for leader material. The last 3 years I've used Sunline Sniper fluoro for leaders, but I'm running low and the Seaguar was a killer deal this xmas. Figured I'd try it out. I use this set up for bottom contact stuff like tubes, craws and finesse jigs.

 

For all my other stuff (grubs, aglias, jerkbaits, small cranks and topwaters) I use 8# yo-zuri hybrid. I used it all of last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. It'll probably become a mainstay for me.

that's what i use , 10 lb. SX1 & 6 lb. Sniper , but i'm gonna try a different brand braid , will write a review of it once i use it

If it works well why? I know some people say SX1 is "noisy" going thru the guides but to me that's the sound I associate with fishing braided line.

don't get me wrong , i have SX1 on my casting set ups , just requested a sample of some braid from a company and really like it 

power pro, all colors. all lb. test up to 30 for all my spinning rods. use a mono or a flouro leader on really clear conditions.
