closed loop spinner baits.
I did my own close loop with shrink tube but found it to be more tangle problem (line wrap around) especially with snap attached. No more using snap on spinnerbait and no more close loop for me. BTW I got some close loop spinnerbait but normally on one big Colorado blade type.

Shimano fan boy.
I like the core 50mg color scheme, black with red accent (that why I paid extra for scorpion 70 instead of curado), but Core 50 and chronarch 50e basically the same reel just different frame/side plate/spool? material and 7.1 gear ratio instead of 6.4 ratio, am I right? I love my 50e and I use it hard (my all around reel) if I buy a new reel, I'd do the same. I don't buy reel just to show and collect duct but to use it full efficiency. It is very hard decision and I have to do it quick. Should I add 13Aldebaran 50 to the mix?

Shimano fan boy.
Oh BTW, I have 1 chronarch 50e, 3 curado/scorpion 70 and 1 SV105.

Shimano fan boy.
Okay I have a dilemma here. A few days ago I saw listing for curado 50e on eBay, added to my cart then checked for other things, 5-10 mins later the reel was gone. I wanted to kick my butt real hard. Now I have a chance to buy used but good shape Core 50mg or brand spanking new chronarch 50e (cheaper). Which should I get? I don't really need new reels but just can't find to stop myself thinking about these reels.

How many of you use more than 3 rods consistently on a kayak?
If your kayak have enough room and stable enough to maneuver around go for it "the more the merrier". Me I only carry 3 all the time, one for moving bait (Fluke, chatterbait jerkbait) another one bottoms contact (fat Ika, Senko, Jig) and last top water. I can rig for mores, but I found it is more cumbersome than merrier. I fish only a few hours each trip and found myself going under tree more often. I only have 2-3 Plano boxes in the front storage. one plastic binder and a net.

The sickness got me!

Aldebaran 50 brake setup?
I know it is newer than my curado I (red brake shoe) but I think internal beside brake shoe should be the same? (Red seem to be more brake than white, after that shimano change the whole brake shoe on all newer reels)

Aldebaran 50 brake setup?
To me who love old style centrifugal on 50e and get spoiled by no thumb casting on daiwa magZ(steez ex100, CT type R SV105), hated new SVS system. I get a very good distance on my curado 70 but every few cast I'd get uncomfortable spool spinning in other word backlash LOL. As of now I have 3 of these d**n 70 don't know why?. The set up to be the best I found for this new SVS system is 2 on dial to 2-4 depend on weight, AND spool tension cannot be too loose. I set the lure to medium drop and little to no over run on spool. As for you with those heavy lure, set 4 brakes on, start dial at 3 down to 1 but keep spool tension to medium drop with no over run. Once you got a hang of it not to adjust any more spool tension but only dial and internal brake. Be careful on spool tension just a slight turn and it will ruin every thing. BTW no whipping just lob easy cast is the best.

Spring fishing jerk baits
If you just start, I recommend Rapala Husky Jerk size 08 and 10. They are cheap and available anywhere with lots of color.

Shimano baitcasting reel
Sound good but pretty pricey, the good thing is turn around time if you want them quick. DVT just billed me for my 2 reels and cheaper per reel. The bad part is he is too d**n busy so you'd better plan a head (that why I only send 2-3 reels a time. Just FYI.

Inflatable PFD, auto or manual?
Seem like everyone like AUTO, huh? Why on earth they have those manual or A/M where you can convert from auto to manual only? I got a lot of your guys points some very good and some not even apply in my case. Do you know that a lot of ppl having a hard time re-entry kayak with inflated PFD (not reg type) and it is going to be the same as Jon boat. And I don't have trim switch engine. Jon boat with 15hp I don't think I can speed more than 15mph. if I fell while operating trolling motor(hand control) meaning my boat gonna keep running since there is no such thing as kill switch either. Chance is I have to swim after my boat and to swim I think I can faster without inflated PFD. The water temp here rarely drop under 50 but you never know. We don't have other personal water craft just pleasure boat and water ski boat, ever since I fish here there are only a few time I felt I'm going to fall while fishing. First with wake I can kneel to get low gravity and gain more balance. Second and my main concern when I operate trolling motor and turn 180 or 360 degree on my Jon boat when windy, this cause me to loose balance a lot and there are chances that I would jump off (feet down) to keep my boat float and my belonging safe. Im not trying to convince you or myself it my own safety and my life for god sake and thanks to everyone who posted and concerned. I think I made my decision which one gonna get and if I don't like it, I'll dump that to my wife since we are getting a new pontoon boat soon anyway and I only have 5 life vest (2 stored in my Jon boat).
- K resale value low super low ? Possibly?

Shimano baitcasting reel
I was gonna buy either K or Chronarch but end up with another curado 70 :). This will be the 3rd one and I hated it.

Lots of rods vs. Lots of tackle
Each type of lure should have separate setup that why you hear ppl asking all the time for spinnerbait rod, chatterbait rod, topwater rod, whopper plopper rod, lipless crank rod, shallow crank rod, deep diver rod, Senko rod, jig rod, wacky rig rod Ned rig rod, soft swimbait rod, etc.....

ISO: more time to fish!
I don't have kids, thanks god but do have one needy wife LOL. I work 6 days a week so most of my weekend(Sunday) I'll stay home with the wife. What do I have left? A few hours here and there each day. Another reason I work night shift so I have time to fish during the day. No complain here though since my wife is the one who get us to live in Canyon Lake where I have all the convenient for bass fishing.

Shad Rap Rod
If you have spinning gear and also prefer spinning gear why worry about others? unless you try to find some excuse to spend money for new rod and reel

Inflatable PFD, auto or manual?
Now it is getting out of hand. My question really is manual or auto? Now it goes into how much my life worth? ? to buy expensive PFD doesn't really show how much your life worth. It is all about how much RISK you wanna take. Some don't wanna take risk but some do. @todd2 it is not about charging kit only. Yes I don't want to pay for charging kit if I don't need to but my concern is about to re-entry the boat and to swim after the boat. @NHBullI think my wife would worry more when I'm on the bike than boat. She know how fast I ride and how much I love to ride on canyons. Even got on an accident coming down hill from big bear while she was with me in the back. Yet she bought me a new bike after that accident.

The Struggle
I also saw bass jumped out of water once when they are chasing schools of Shad. I had it on video so I have a chance to confirm if it was in fact bass. But now it might possibly be carp, they are spawning at about this time a big group of male chasing after female and make splash everywhere.

Inflatable PFD, auto or manual?
@Todd2I got your point but my case I don't see chance of me being knock out. I'm not concerned of falling when speeding or collision with other boat my is Jon boat with only 15hp. My worried is only when I'm moving around while fishing with trolling motor running, I only have less than 50" of space at the front and 36" bottom known to not very stable. I see a chance of me jumping aboard more. @lo n slo thanks, I was looking at that one too and saw they do have manual inflatable as well. I think it might work better for me since I have a chance to swim after my Jon boat where I don't want PFD to activate to get to my boat faster. Why do they have manual PFD? Who are their target group? Can anybody give Pros and Cons for manual ones?

Inflatable PFD, auto or manual?
I think I should get myself a PFD, actually a PFD that I will wear. I do have regular PFD plus kayak PFD, but I never wear any of those while fishing in Jon Boat. Now my situation is I alway fish alone but along shoreline. We do have quite a bit traffic of water ski boat. The thing that scared me is wake from those plus wind and unstable of Jon boat. Im thinking of manual inflatable PFD where I can activate if needed. What do you think? Why ppl buy manual versus auto PFD?

Finesse Jig Weight
To me finesse is small profile bait and fish kind of slow not necessary light weight. I agree that ppl sometime mix up Terminology like pitching and flipping, finesse and BFS. Jig and jig head are totally different in my term, the one with skirt and one no skirt. To me finesse is small profile bait and fish kind of slow not necessary light weight.

Blade Bait Love/Hate Relationship
I love dropshot, caught a lot of fish with this technique every time I see or shop I would look for my drop shot rig first. I even got two rods baitcaster and spinning specialized for dropshot. Hate them since it fish so slow and quite often the tag end wrap around plastic and damage it.

Anyone been shutdown by chatterbait?
But even you copy everything to use for your own sake, not selling not advertising, who would know?
-
Whopper plopper. . .why the hype??
Plain and simple because it catch fish. The only time I use buzzbait over WP when weed presents and when bass what something more subtle.
