Indoor Rod Storage
If you don't want any thing fancy but cheap and easy, this how I made my temp rod holder when I came back from any fishing trip. You can make it to hold as many rod according to your length of space.

Reel Technologies
I tottally agree with you, I like set it and forget it on my old shimano reel 50e. I also know that my curado 70 can cast further if set it right. Rately I bumb up my 50e for all around reel/heavier bait so I change to 1 brake on. But both my curado and scorpion 70 I set to 4 brake on dial to 2 and 4 depend on lure weight and still get equal if not more distance. Now one thing about SV mag Z on daiwa, you would appreciate the system when you hear the click between cast that the MagZ is working. I can cast as light as weightless roboworm on 2/0 EWG hook on my alphas 105. I don't even dare try that on my scorpion 70. Still SV is suffering a lot on distance, I can cast 1/4 oz lure a lot further on my 70 compare to SV. Each reel will have their strong point and better use than other if you know how to use/set them. As much as I like shimano centrifugal brake system I can cast 2-5 oz lure further on my Luna 253 compare to Cardiff. And I can bomb 1 oz lure on my CT type R a mile and a half away.

Big swimbaits vs small water
IF you have money and time to spare, I'd say why not. But it might get expensive over time if you happen to loose one or two(I now becuz I just lost 6" and 8" back to back. Even though hudd 6" can catch small size fish but the bites will be a lot less far and between compare to others like drop shot, Texas rig. You are looking for quality instead of number. Now to catch big fish there are other way around without invest in all new set up like chatterbait(trend to catch bigger fish) or 10" worm etc. But I can tell you one thing, I'd get a lot more excite to catch even 3-4lbs on hudd than dropshot any day.

Got a yak
You got a lot of good recommendations there. I'm also new to kayak, got it last year and fish on it a bunch of time. It is also 10' version (pescador pro 100) The first thing I do after got that kayak was go out and try to flip and re-enter the kayak with PFD on. Don't skimp on PFD, the regular PFD might not serve you well and you might skip wearing all together. I got the high back and not too expensive at all. https://www.austinkayak.com/products/7733/Stohlquist-Ebb-Life-Jacket-PFD-Closeout.html I don't have milk crate but I made rod holder from PVC which hold 3 rods and GoPro knock off. The thing I have is back pack with anchor, scale extra plier, bottle of water plus 3 Plano box and one plastic binder. I also have dry bag where I keep car key, cig n lighter and my phone. I always leash my paddle but not my rod and I do have a few more item that tethered to kayak like fish grip, fish net, plastic binder and pliers. what you need might be different than us but try to be minimal, with couple time out you should know what you need and don't need. Another thing try to be visible when you are in water and if you share with those speed boat. One thing I don't see a lot mention is Flag, I don't have one yet but plan to rig my kayak with orange flag.

Indoor Rod Storage
Yup kastking is the way to go, sturdy and easy to install, very light weight too.

Skunked. But, I did go.
You guys still better than me, went out yesterday with hudd 68 weedless. Got a few bite but missed both, got carried away reel in too close to rip rap where they just add a bunch of rock. Lost the d**n hudd.

Recommendation for an Inshore bait caster reel
@Frogliza I think you are confused a little bit here. Any reels made can be use either fresh or salt water, the only exception is the one with magnesium material that not salt corroded resistant and not recommended to use in saltwater. Now the different between using reel in fresh water and saltwater is maintenances. If any reels get in touch with saltwater, those reels should be clean, rinse or service right away to prevent any damage from salt (no material can withstand salt even reel that specific for heavy saltwater used) which reel to choose is up to many factors, targeted fish, line capacity, speed, drag system and such. You don't want to use bass reel if you target big saltwater fish, the line capacity is not enough, you can't control fish and you might get spooled very easily. Mostly the size of reel like 70, 200 300 400 is for Line capacity, bigger number is more Line capacity and bigger size reel and more weight. Now in bass world most of the techniques you won't need a lot of line capacity and some prefer smaller reel so the size 70, 200 would served them just fine, but for those that fish with big swimbait would need bigger line, or more line capacity so they would need bigger reel like 300-400 size reel. Now which reel would fit your need to be able to handle bass and inshore fishing is up to you.

New to BR!!
Welcome to BR. In your area will be very tough as you already know it for any bass fishing. We are in SoCal is pretty screwed when come to bass fishing especially in any of city park lake. I remembered spending more than 10 yrs and only caught a handful of bass around city park lake. Another reason why ppl in SoCal fish for catfish, stock trout and pier fishing. Any way in your area, there are quite a few city park lakes, that you might be able to get a hand on bass, Huntington Park lake, Ceritos Park, Mile square Park. A little bit further would be Yorba regional Park where you pay small fee to get in but at least the most I see a lot of bass action last time I went there. Now if you wanna get into bass fishing here I think you might need some type of floating devices like float tube or kayak for bigger lake like Pudding Stone Lake and Lake Perris where can be really good in spring. There are also Diamond Valley and Lake skinner where can be good but can be overwhelming as well, you might need some friend and rest a boat at those lakes. Let me know if you need any more help, worst come to worst and if you don't mind driving, I'll let you fish here inCanyon Lake let me know.

Removing reel scratches
The first one is tough, second time is still hurt but except able by third time you would feel nothing.

Kayak Rod Setup
I normally bring only 3 setup when on kayak, a fluke, chatterbait and top water. If I were you and had those 4 setup, this would be how I would use them. 1. 7'2 H/F, flipping jig, frog, punch rig. 2. 6'10 MH, this would be all purpose set up, jig rod 3. 7'0 MH/MF, moving bait like chatterbait, spinnerbait lipless crank. 4. 6'6 spinning, this would be for all soft plastic/finesse rig, Senko Fluke wacky rig, lite Texas rig, Ned rig

Jetski vs boat
Luckily I don't have to deal with jet skiers but those wake boat and water skier almost got me a few times, another reason I don't fish at main lake as often.

Making catfish bait from floating fish food
I used to make a dough that mix with all kind of thing like cheese, cat food oak meals. Corn meals peanut butter. Mostly for carp but very often I caught catfish with this dough. The only concern is how to make this dough stick on your hook/treble hook. to make dough a simplest way is to use white bread, tears into small pieces add a little liquid or vanilla extract add whatever ingredient you wanna mix in. Look up how to make a dough for carp.

El Dorado Park Long Beach fishing tips?
I think that might be the best you can get out of city park lake here in SoCal. When I fish there I always dropshot or spit shot with the smallest plastic I can get away with. You can try Cerritos park but the result might be the same. Another place but a little bit further is tri city park are in Irvine or Yorba Regional Patk. BTW, welcome to BR. Don't forget to introduce yourself so others can help you. I used to live in Los Alamitos but now move to riverside area.
