  1. Good time to build bigger bass room.
  2. Mostly the fish I caught and eat would be saltwater fish like halibut, calico, snappers and cods, for fresh water would be striper and white meat trout. Maybe I try that boiled striper next time. here the way my wife cook bass, the last time I killed one. she steamed the whole fish, clean and gutted of course, with all kind of herbs and top with spicy and sour sauce. Don't ask me how it tasted I wouldn't know but she begs for more bass.
  3. I wear water shoe when go on boat or kayak. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071L492L9/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512425999&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=speedo+hybrid+water+shoes&dpPl=1&dpID=417Ohrh8ThL&ref=plSrch and Crocs everywhere elses. Croc shoe is not anti slip, don't ask how I know and sand/dirt can get in super easy.
  4. ^^^ this^^^ Yup not done here just yet. New lure same place this morning lol.
  5. If you have already had the setup you mentioned, go ahead and use it. It won't hurt a d**n thing to use a nice set up. BUT if you are going to buy new then these guys already gave you best comments. I don't use super cheap but sensitive enough rod to feel the bump when fishing around grass. For the lure itself, I use all the mention above without the jack hammer(too expensive for my blood) the original is okay since you can grab it anywhere(walmart) I bought 3 pack pro kit (14 bucks) when I started, come with 3 chatterbaits plus a few turbo craw and few diezel . I also like elite/custom series a little bit expensive but still available anywhere. The projectZ is nice and to me I can fish abit faster. If you are going to stock up now, siebert Fogy is the best way to go, 24/7, green pumpkin, black/blue and white are my color choice.
  6. Yup gotta make the wife happy once in awhile lol.
  7. A lot depend on gears and size of fish. Stiff rod big line I would reel the bass to surface as soon as possible without giving them a chance to turn head.
  8. This year is my second years for serious bass fishing so everything is new and cool to me. Last year I fish mainly on dropshot and Senko. This year I planed on moving bait which I think I success enough on Fluke, Jerkbait and Chatterbait. Next year will be lipless, spinnerbait, swimbait and jigs.
  9. Here more info on Lake Miramar from SD Fishing. https://sdfish.com/lakes/lake-miramar/ This seem to be a very good small lake for fishing with boat and kayak to rent. It is about 1 hr drive from me too bad I never fish there. Maybe @MTPandawould know. If your son wanna drive and fish in Canyon Lake let me know.
  10. I used to use a lot of Hybrid line #6 8 10, but after the last spool of #8 smoke color I was very disappointed with Hybrid. I moved to #10 CXX and this line is stiff as hell and coiled up pretty good. I also have Izor Line XXX #15 for big stuff and this line is pretty tough and still softer than CXX. I like Izor Line a lot and at one time I had #4 for my finesse and pull 23 lbs crap with this setup. I ordered big spool #8(0.11 dia) Izor Line for next season.
  11. Follow this video from Glenn, basic simple and cheap.
  12. That could be a reason why I don't throw jig a lot since I'm a bank-beater even on kayak or boat. Another reason I remembered loosing a pretty good size fish after first jump. I blame my hookset where I used to with fishing drop shot.
  13. I'm sad, ordered even tho I don't know what to do with those. It is your fault LOL. Gotta stop checking this thread I spent way over my budget already. My wife gonna kill me when she sees those packages in a few day.
  14. Yup, I've been eyeing this one for quite awhile at least a few months. My local store still have this hand paint color and white pearl. Caught one tiny bass just half an hour ago.
  15. Check turners outdoor daiwa Lexa 300 on sale for 99 bucks. Don't know if online the same price.
  16. Lobster at work. Can't wait to try this.
  17. Good luck man. I'm like you don't really fish with Jig. I've caught a few fish here and there. I do have a lot of jigs I bought this year and wanna get more serious fish with it next year along with hair jig.
  18. I just started serious bass fishing the last few years so my lures type kind of limited, all caught this year. Zman chatterbait. White 7.7 Rapala Husky Jerk 08 ~5.8 Zoom super Fluke white 5 Jig n craw blake/blue 5 Zman PaddlerZ 4" on 1/10 jig shad 4.7 Siebert fogy bladebait GP 4.3
  19. Maybe he is more hardcore than his grandpa LoL.
  20. I was gonna sell my curado 70 many times for the favor of another daiwa sv105 but end up with another scorpion 70 instead. It one of those love/hate thing. The 70 is not smooth compare to chronarch 50e or sv105 and kind of gearly a little bit but for distance I think I get more with 70 down to 1/4 (compare with sv105 and tatula CT type R). I have no choice but to stay with 70 becuz I like small reel and I don't want to buy another 50e (my favorite of all)
  21. Or we should go back to where we stop at our backyard digging for worm before each fishing trip. Very simple one bait for all the fish. Nah never too much on lures or plastics. The thrill of bass fishing is to get them to bite on something especially the one that you never catch fish before.
  22. Have you ever heard of summer home? LOL
  23. I know hudd bug is not craw warm but if we try to imitation crawdad why don't use one that life like? I've seen some footage video of hudd bug and like the way they move slow over or in between rocks with less snag. I got pretty good idea of how I am gonna rig this things. On the small lake (north ski lake) there are plentiful of crawdad and I think that the main food source for bass. i also heard that they are pretty durable so I pack of 5 for 10 bucks? might worth a try.
  24. I would move next to @A-Jayand become a very good neighbor with him.
  25. Just for you @CattI'm gonna pickup some hudd bug this weekend.
