  1. I've only used it a bit, first fish knocked it straight out of the water and never had it in it's mouth. But the next fish took it down and it hooked up nicely and I landed it no problem. In a different thread I was advised the hook choice is likely not the best, someone pointed out some different ones that are specifically made to replace trebles. If I lose a few with the hooks I put on it I'll switch them out and try again.
  2. Great story, I literally laughed out loud! I remember once on the bass boat with my dad and uncle, I'm a lefty so standing up front by my dad with uncle in the back. They both go to cast at the same time and tangle up horribly on the back-cast. I'm laughing so hard, I go for a cast into a good looking spot and instead end up tangled up about 15' up in a tree. Another one comes to mind, I went bass fishing with a coworker that had a boat but no idea what he was doing but wanted to try it. He's up front, and we make it through the first bay without a bite and he is already losing interest. I'm sitting in the back when a HUGE northern pike, biggest I've ever seen I'm guessing 15lb or more comes up and inhales his lure right in front of me. He's looking off in the distance somewhere and doesn't see it, and when he finally goes to set the hook his pole snaps in half right at the reel. Funny thing is this was only 50' or so down the shoreline from my first story. Oh and the coworker did end up catching a 6lb LM bass that day which really made his day!
  3. Is it different for any team? Seahawks are terrible. Embarrassing to watch sometimes. OK pretty much all the time.
  4. It looks ridiculous with a tandem axle trailer though. Pointless added cost too.

Fishing from a kayak, especially in pressured water, I recommend getting back in the thick stuff. Some of my best fishing this year has come when sitting on top of the pads, dropping a senko into a hole that a bass boat couldn't hit from the edge. Or finding a cut through the junk and bringing a topwater mouse/frog across it parallel, again a presentation your standard bass fisherman isn't going to pull off. Landing the fish gets tricky, you better have gear up to the task of yarding them out instantly and dragging them across the pads, but it can pay off!
  6. Sounds like things are now going OK, and you've received some great advice already. I would add to screenshot and save ANY AND EVERY text the ex sends you regarding parenting intentions. Your first post eluded to the fact that she was going to keep your daughter from you. You need to have any reference to her "threats" of those kinds of things and the context for any future court proceedings, even if they never (hopefully) take place. You have to protect yourself, and for a long time or risk being blindsided and unprepared.
  7. They should be able to beat Jay Cutler and da Bears twice at least. Plus, Marvin Jones is no slouch, they should be alright at WR with him and Tate.
  8. Most of the time I catch them in the upper portion of dammed up rivers/reservoirs. Just when the current starts to slow.
  9. They are good fighters in their own way. They slam inline spinners all day long, makes for fun when I have the wife and kid with me.
  10. Sorry, just never liked the guy. And everything he does to himself is a stereotypical cry for attention. He's the Miley Cyrus of the NFL. I forgot to mention the bicep kissing. The latest National Anthem hi-jinks are another now that he's benched and irrelevant. Look at me!!! It's probably a TV market thing(Seahawks/NFC West), but I've been inundated with Kaepernick for years now. I rooted for him at first, small market college player finally getting his shot. But I didn't like the way he got his job, Alex Smith going out with a concussion and he comes in and the talking heads want to make him out to be a superstar. Not like the 49ers were already good, with a top 5 defense, Frank Gore, Anquan Boldin, a loaded team primed for a super bowl run. Smith is still starting on a playoff caliber team. Kap is a bust. Most of the good players that helped carry him quit or retired early on his watch. The coach got fired after multiple winning seasons. I think he needs to go and let the team move on.
  11. I've had an idea brewing for awhile to secretly install an "ice cream man" song on a loudspeaker on a buddies car with a remote or time delay to activate it as he drives away from a function. Haven't figured out the logistics of how to pull it off, but it's going to happen eventually.
  12. I'm with Josh Smith. It's why I can't stand fishing for Kokanee, yes they are delicious but I don't want to bring them home and deal with them. That said, best fish I ever had was northern pike where the guy really knew what he was doing cleaning them. Two 6.5lbers fed the whole group, 7 guys or so and were amazing!
  13. If you are returning one regardless, I would keep the Abu/Abu combo.
  14. There are some bad QB situations in the NFL, but when you get benched for Gabbert, it's time to give it up. The tattoos, the fro, he needs mental help.
  15. Love it when SEC teams lose games everyone expects them to win. Too bad Tennessee eeked out theirs. Alabama looks incredibly legit though, when is the last time they had a QB like that?!?!? Scary to think what they could do this year. USC isn't what they once were, but yikes.
  16. Hmm, that is tempting. I just bought a new spinning reel in May and am ready to throw it in the trash can. I've been a Shimano guy forever but this Spirex (I'm a lefty and like the trigger casting what can I say) is the worst reel I've ever had, and I just missed the Cabela's refund/replace warranty. My other spinnner is a Trion and I got my wife a "lady" Trion, both are great. So I doubt this one would disappoint.
  17. I've never found any reason to switch from Spiderwire, I do like the Stealth better than the original though. I'm sure the other brands are great, but like I said just never had a reason to switch.
  18. Top waters, most notably prop baits are my favorite in windy conditions. Spinner bait would be tied on also though.
  19. Dang, I like! Sure you give up 60+ mile an hour speed, beautiful gel coats, sexy tandem axle trailers, etc. But for a simple fishing platform, (kind of what my dad and I had with our old 1987 Bayliner Bass "Striker") I definitely see the market. Tiller steering to cut down on cost, wonder what they retail for?
  20. I'll never forget my PB LM bass, although I hope to surpass it eventually. Caught when I was probably 13 years old, my family had rented a cabin on Priest Lake, ID for a summer weekend and I was sitting on the end of the dock with my Shakespeare rod and cheapo Shimano spinning reel spooled with 6lb Stren and a single orange PowerEgg on a #12 hook off the bottom with a slip sinker. Pretty much hoping to catch a trout, bluegill, whatever. I get a bite and set the hook, only to watch my spool start peeling line like I'd never seen. My dad meanders off the deck to see what's going on, we both agree I must have one of the big lake trout on they have in there and wait it out. When I finally get it close to the dock, we see it's a huge bass and another one is swimming with it. My dad jumps down and goes for a lip just as it runs under the dock and our boat on the other side, somehow the Stren holds on for dear life and I'm able to bring it back out. He fishes a net (that we never used, but this dock was pretty far out of the water) out of the boat and nets it, weighs in at 4lb13oz. I've since come within 2oz on standard bass gear, but other than the picture don't remember it at all. Maybe I should fish with kid gear all the time. Still makes me smile to remember. I also recall the entire hook was visible where it was hooked, like it was just inside the membrane of it's mouth. Still no idea how it didn't get off for any number of reasons.
  21. LT field mouse was getting some attention today. This one went 3lb2oz, my best top water fish on the year.
  22. I had a nice day on the water today, only got to test out a single hook modded lure on one fish though. Also my fist time using a Whopper Plopper. Happy to say it hooked up and came right in, only a 2lb11oz but decent enough. I had one other fish knock it clear out of the water, not much you can do about those though. I definitely could be better at lipping fish also. Anyway, I was just curious how many people if any were swapping out trebles for singles especially when kayak fishing. I've never been a huge fan of trebles anyway. Seems like when I used to fish for trout a lot they would often spit out lures with them, but you rarely ever lose one on a fly with a single hook. I'm definitely going to give the singles a fair chance, even if I end up switching to those Owners. Appreciate the tips and advice from everyone!
  23. Those are what I should have bought, darn it. You don't need to use two split rings either with those.
  24. I appreciate the advice, Kind of late for me to switch them out already though, I guess I'll see how it goes. The hooks look so good, I guess they "caught" me.
  25. They get caught in the net, and it's difficult to lip a nice fish from a sitting position in the kayak. I'm also worried about getting one stuck in a finger and being out by myself in some remote location.
