Want to try big game mono
Does this line actually have less memory than trilene xl? I’ve been meaning to try a spool preferably 6 and 8lb on spinning reels

Recommendations for soft body swimbait that works for a very slow retrieve

Line lay
I have the shims was just wondering if I left it like this would it have any effect on performance. I just spoiled brand new line on and don’t want to take it off

Line lay
My Stradic FK has the line more spooled towards the front of the spool versus the rear and being perfectly even, It is not by much but does this have any impact on reel performance or casting?

Braid vs mono casting distance
Interesting the distance with the ball head and keitech on braid was quite a bit shorter than with the mono

Braid vs mono casting distance
So I have been doing some experimenting with 6-8lb mono vs 10-15lb braid on spinning reels. While casting senkos, Ned rig, and keitech on an 1/8oz ball head I’ve found mono to cast further than the braid which is the exact opposite of what you read about casting distances with these two lines. The light mono also appears to just cast smoother overall. Trilene xl and original power pro were used. Just thought I’d share my experience

Looking to replace Shimano Sienna spinning reels ($30-$50)
Never understood the hype with pflueger, especially the president. Every one I bought ohad terrible line lay which caused wind knots. I own the new sienna and for $30 they get the job done just fine. Tackle warehosue runs 20% off on the Black Friday sale

Palomar knot failing
It was the mainline, 20kb power pro that was breaking. It was breaking right above the knot. Haven't had any problem since I changed my line knock on wood

Palomar knot failing
When I make the overhand loop I am tightening it all the way.the few videos I just watched say not to do this as it can cause the line to cut into itself and you are supposed to cinch. everything all at once

Palomar knot failing
Is it possible I'm cinching it down to tight? I am really pulling on it but didn't think it would really be possible for me to break 20lb braid by hand

Palomar knot failing
Breaking Breaking and the knot still looks fine. It's almost like the manline is breaking right above or inside the knot

Palomar knot failing
20lb power pro tied to swivel and my knot keeps failing. Never had an issue before. I had 3 year old braid on and thought it was the line so changed the line and it still continues happening. What am I doing wrong?

Senkos
Thanks for replies guys but I've tried all the knock offs and still prefer the Yamamoto. Was just curious if anyone else experienced some color.senkos were softer than others

Senkos
Anyone else notice that certain color senkos are softer than other colors? The straight black barely last one fish

Braid on casting reel
the bleeding braid doesnt bother me nearly as much as the wet hands! my hands and cork have become much more wet since switching from mono to braid on this combo. does braid absorb more water than mono or fluoro?

Need three rods for casting setups
The medium is great for topwater crankbaits and spinnerbaits. medium action casting rods are way underrated in my opinion. I use them just as much as my medium heavys

Braid on casting reel
I have been fishing braid on my topwater and skinny dipper rod this season. Up until this point I've really only used braid for punching and frogging...one thing I have noticed is my hands, reel, reel seat, and the cork handle become more wet and green from the dye on the braid while casting and retrieving a bait with braid versus mono. This happens most when I am constantly casting and retrieving something like a swimbait or a whopper plopper..is this due to the braid absorbing more water versus mono or fluoro? Does this happen to anyone else? I know this is a silly question but it is annoying. I am fishing 50lb power pro on a cursdo i

Burning line
This happens to me especially when trying leaders with 40-80lb mono. I just deal with it and I haven't broken off a fish because of it.

Trilene XT
15lb big game = 12lb xt diameter 15lb big game = 17lb xl diameter

What's your favorite braid?
Power pro
-
Trilene XT
Trilene xt is very thick diameter for its lb test rating. I prefer big game and its cheaper

Dig in issue with braid on frog rod
When retrieving a frog you're going to be reeling the line loosely back onto the spool so some digging is possible but I've never experienced it so bad that I had to pull out line after catching a fish. Maybe if I hung up my lure and pulled hard I'd have to, but not after catching a fish.

Largemouth spawn
Fortunately I haven't seen any dead bass. I have heard that after a bass spawns if the water temperature drops too cold the eggs and fry could possibly die
