Thoughts on Dobyns Fury 734C
I don't have a 734 but I do own the 704 if that helps. It fishes those jigs just fine

Largemouth spawn
Is it possible for bass to not spawn at all one year? I live in southeast NY and we had one of the worst coldest springs on record. The weather has finally stabilized the last 2-3 weeks or so. One lake I regularly frequent I saw no signs of bass on beds at all this year although I have seen bluegill on beds. The fishing at this lake was considerably poor up until a few weeks ago. every other lake I have fished so far this spring I have seen spawning bass. All the lakes and ponds I fish are small 10-100 acre mudholes that average 3' in depth

Literally ....pulling my hair!!!
Something is wrong if you are breaking off fish on the hookset. Could be a nick in your guide or your knots. Ditch the flouro, hate that stuff

How to spool my small 1000 reel with 20 lb mono
4-6lb mono or 10lb braid on a 1000 series reel. Make sure when you spool mono the line is coming off the spool in a counter clockwise direction and that you dont overfill the spool. As far as your line breaking it sounds like you probably have a cracked rod guide.

Power Pro vs PP Slick 8
i as well have dealt with the strands seperating ive had it happen with sufix 832 too. i have friends who love the stuff but i'll stick to original power pro.

Curado K
i have fished tatula ct and daiwa fuegot ct and shimano curados. id say the daiwas cast smoother but not sure if i am gaining much more distance versus the curado k. overall i prefer the curado k. just a better feeling reel overall

Spinning reel spooling
make sure line is coming off the spool in a counter clockwise direction, that's really all you need to know when spooling a spinning reel.

Trilene XL
i have been using trilene XL for years and never had an issue. while it can have some memory, (especially in cold weather/water) it is by far the best handling mono to use on a spinning reel.

Water Temperature and Topwater Baits
I have caught fish on a spook style bait when the water was 48 degrees, keep in mind this was in a 100 acre pond that averages 3-4'. I believe topwater can work all year as long as your fish are active

Swimbait must haves
So the hudd 68 weedless rof5 does not come with a hook? So far I have narrowed my bait selections down to s few hudd 68s, s waver, Matt lures ultimate gill, and a wake bait. These will be purchased during the black Friday sale tackle warehouse is having. Further down the line I may purchased more baits but for now I want to keep it fairly simple

Swimbait must haves
Massyak, thanks for all your help. As a beginner swimbaiter, i plan on starting with a few hudd 68's in perch and trout patterns, an s waver 168, ms slammer, and maybe a Matt lures gill

Dobyns Fury vs St Croix Premier
Dobyns fury hands down. I own two premiers and while they're good rods the furys are more sensitive and lighter. Also I find the butt ends of the premier casting rods to be too short, for me anyways.

Swimbait must haves
Does anyone fish the weedless hudds? How is the hookup ratio?
-
Swimbait must haves
Rof 5 or 12? I've read the rof 5 sinks very slow but am thinking the 12 may be too much for 3-5' of water I normally fish

Swimbait must haves
Someone talk yo me about huddleston in shallow ponds. Don't want to throw a 30$ bait if it's just going to drag bottom and get caught in grass. So far I've been doing some homework and seems like the 68 special rof5 may work for what I want to do.

Swimbait must haves
What line are you guys throwing? I've always been a big mono fan for everything except frogs and punching but was considering trying it for swimbaits. Right now i have 20lb mono on my swimbait reel

Swimbait must haves
The lakes I fish generally do not

Swimbait must haves
Hey guys i recently purchased a swimbait combo and I want to pick up some swimbaits during the black Friday sale on tackle warehouse. In your opinions what are some must haves? I have done some research and it seems like the megabass, river2sea s waver, and huddleston are defintely a few I would like to purchase. I would loke to kwep the price aroubd $30-$35 for each bait. I mainly fish shallow weedy ponds (average depth 3-4') with bluegill perch, golden shiners and some rainbow trout as primary forage. would the huddleston ROF5 be ineffective at this depth? Thanks

Pond bass in winter
how deep of a pond? most places i fish in southeast NY are no more than 6' deep at max depth with an average depth of 3'. the fish can be anywhere at anytime in ponds like this during the winter but ive found that if you can find any grass that hasnt died from the year before chances are you will find fish.

Your Go to Ned Rig Weight
I use the 1/20 and 1/15 sizes made by zman. Anything heavier defeats the purpose of a ned rig
