Nothing comes close to the baby 1 minus. I tried the egg, didn’t like them. They also didn’t cast nearly as far. Not an issue for most but when you’re wading or fishing a lake where no watercraft allowed and there’s a weed bed far out, casting distance matters

Well I can simplify how I do it. 12-15lb big game for all baitcasting reels. If fishing around grass it’s straight braid. Lb test is personal preference but I prefer 30 for most with the exception of 50 for frogging

That’s exactly what’s happening. You explained it well. It seems to happen after I read lift and drop then reel in to make another cast with some tension the line wraps over looser line Bottom pic you can see a lot of the loop I’m talking about

Is it normal to get a few loops at the bottom of a spinning reel spool when fishing slack line techniques like senkos and Texas rigs? It has not caused any wind knots yet but I noticed it today while fishing. I’m using 10lb sufix 832 braid on an okuma stratus spinning reel . thanks

I bought an okuma stratus a few weeks ago for cheap coin and put 10lb sufix 832 on it. Should I strip the line and go heavier or ahould i I just keep the 10lb on?

After a few years hiatus I’m back in the game. What spinning rod would you recommend for multipurpose use while wading or walking the bank where you can only take one rod? Rod will be used for soft plastics, small swimbaits, small jerk baits, inline spinner etc. budget is $75 the cheaper the better! Also should note the only decent store that sells freshwater tackle near me is dicks sporting goods

Anyone use this reel? Picked on up on sale for $39.99 and had a $10 off coupon so scored the reel for $29.99. Dicks employee says it’s made by okuma specifically for dicks. Felt decent in hand and had decent line lay for a $30 reel. Have yet to to use it but hoping within the next week or two

So how is one supposed to break off from shore? If fishing mono and you pull to break off the line should be changed?

after I spool my mono I tie it to a fixed object and walk about half the spool off and stretch the line to reduce line twist and memory. Never had an issue. Can’t comment on fluoro since I don’t use it

So today I pre set my drags at the house before heading to the lake. After fishing a bit I tested the drags again on both of my spinning rods and the drags were considerably tighter than when i had set them earlier. Does cold weather have an effect on spinning reel drags?

I have been very pleased with daiwa fury series. I own 6 and have been fishing three for 3-4 seasons now

Has anyone else experienced original power pro fraying, particularly towards the end of the line where it runs through guides from the reel to the lure?. I’ve had power pro begin to start looking fuzzy after lots of use and many casts but this seems to be actual fraying I have been using power pro for about 15 years and have never had an issue until this season. This was all new braid purchased this year. this happened on 3 different rods with 15, 20, and 30lb braid. No issues with 50lb on frog rod. And yes I’ve checked my rod guides for cracks

Fluoro has just as much stretch as mono. I use it more than any other line bass fishing.
