  1. Well all mono will look like that after you take it off your reel. I use mono for everything except punching and frogging.6-8lb trilene xl for spinning reels and 12-15lb big game on casting reels. Also make sure you are spooling properly...Good luck
  2. Berkley big game or trilene xl. Hate fluoro

I have found some colors are softer and not as durable as others
  4. I thought the same with my fury 702 and 703 when I first got them. I thought maybe one of the rods were mislabeled but after i fished them I could notice the difference
  5. How would a owner cps hook solve this problem? It's the knot on top of my ewg that's sliding, not the hook I am going to try this next time I am out Thanks for all replies
  6. Yes I peg. This doesn't happen when I don't peg. Happens to my friend as well. We were just discussing this the other day while we were fishing and both couldn't figure out a solution
  7. I flip with ewg hooks, not a fan of straight shank. How do you avoid having the weight slide to the side? The weight causes the knot to slide which makes the weight not lay directly in front of the bait. Not sure if this has any effect on bait action. I use a Palomar or improved clinch

You guys rig along the seam of the bait or it doesn't matter to You? Watched a vid before stating the senko is slightly curved and to rig the curved side of the bait down to get more wiggle. I looked at a few of my senko and don't notice any curves.
  9. Who uses em? Am looking to add a dedicated skipping rod, tried skipping with a casting rod but can't get the hang of it. Will be matches up with a 7' Mh st Croix premier spinning rod and 12lb trilene xl. Anybody use 12lb mono on a 4000? Not sure how it would handle heaviest mono I've used on spinning is 8lb on a 2500 sized reel, not a braid fan
  10. Most of my spinning reels have a few nicks in the spool due to normal wear and tear (bank and kayak fishing) I have never experienced the issue you are having. I would just buy a new spool and be done with it
  11. Trilene xl spinning reel. Power pro for punching and frogging. Big game for everything else
  12. Downside for me is it attracts lots of other species as well
  13. i have been fishing two fuego ct's this whole season, and love em. ive used them for everything. i actually just ordered a third one from tackle warehouse. they also have a promo going on too if you buy a fuego ct, you receive a free spool of 30lb daiwa j braid. best $100 reel in my opinion. i have a tatula ct as well and while its a nice reel the fuego seems to be the same reel as the tatula ct minus the twing system (not a fan of twing) good luck whatever you chose
  14. you cannot go wrong with the ole rebel pop-r. cheap, readily available, and they catch fish
  15. Why would you not want to use backing? I fill spool about 1/3 of cheap mono rest with braid. On my punching/flipping rod I fill about 3/4 mono rest with braid.
  16. I fish the silver max reels a lot. A good starting point would be to adjust the spool tension just enough so there is no side to side play with the spool. And set brakes a little over halfway, works for me with 12-15lb mono or 30-40lb braid
  17. 3/0 ewg. Never had a problem
  18. Thanks guys
  19. what are you guys using for replacement hooks on manns baby minus 1? i was using owner st-36 in a 4 and 6 but the front and back hook, hook one another more than i'd like. i was going to try the KVD mustad short shank ewg trebles. anyone have experience with these?
  20. I would definitely add a medium light spinning rod to fish slider worms, ned rig, dropshot
  21. Berkley big game is good stuff. 12-15 on baitcasters. 6-8lb trilene xl on spinning reels. Braid for frogging and heavy vegeatation
