  1. I have one that in use to flip jigs and Texas rigs. It's a nice reel but doesn't blow me away. I do like how compact it is for flipping and pitching. It has dual braking system both centrifugal and magnetetic. I find the magnetetic brakes pretty much useless, I keep that completely off with 2 centrifugal pins on.
  2. WIND IN A KAYAK!!!!!
  3. Power pro. It's stiff for the first few casts. If you want a smoother braid look at suffix 832 or power pro super slick. I've had fraying issues with both those lines though.
  4. Sounds like it's your braid. I never liked the 8 strand braids
  5. Anyone else have problems with them spinning? I've tried the 110 and 130...some casts they run fine other times they'll spin. This has shyed me away from these baits
  6. Never heard of that l. only problem I've ever encountered was my mono leader broke right below the knot while casting. Sounds like you're not cinching the knot down tight enough
  7. My favorite way to fish. I have taken my share of 6-7lbers doing this
  8. 3/4oz weight pegged with a pit boss ?
  9. I like how soft they are
  10. I have settled on trilene xl or Berkley bug game for everything I do except punching and frog fishing
  11. I have had this issue with a stradic fk and Sahara. It happened while I was throwing a small crankbait like a shad rap or any other small bait that would.cause some resistance to the rod. I would feel a bunch of resistance, almost like it was hard to reel. The reels felt fine with everything else though
  12. Thanks for all the replies. I have settled on a st Croix premier MH spinning rod (ps70mhf) that i had laying around that i have used for inshore fishing. Seems like it's going to work well
  13. Fuego ct is hands down best $99 reel on the market. I have two and plan on purchasing more. Tatula ct is nice but I don't like the twing system
  14. Totally agree that is why I prefer spinning but unfortunately my 8lb test doesn't cut it around this vegetation and I don't wanna lose another monster because of ut
  15. Here's my dilemma, fishing from shore I've been on a good senko bite. Fishing a lot of submerged milfoil in about 4' of water the grass comes about a foot below the surface In this area of the lake. Ive always fished my senkos and weightless plastics on a medium powered spinning rod with 8lb test. Yesterday I came across a big fish that after a few thumps of the rod buried me in grass and and the fish came off (this one's gonna haunt me a while). Ive caught quite a few 5s and 6s on spinning equiptment with 5" senkos but was clearly undergunned yesterday. What are you guys throwing your 5" senkos on around heavy vegetation? Was thinking of using my 7' MH casting rod with 40lb braid to avoid this happening again. Thanks
  16. i'm looking for a tube that will fit a 2/0-3/0 EWG and be thrown on 8lb test that will be fished on an 1/8oz texas rig. most tubes i have found are quite thick which require a beefier bulkier hook. what are you guys using?
  17. Just fish it the way it is
  18. What are the advantages of the dual.braking system? I just purchased two of these reels and have two centrifugal brakes on. The magnetic control seems to do nothing, whether I turn it all the way up or completely off I notice know difference . The reel casts well and smoothly anyways
  19. Trilene xl is the answer, make sure when you spool the reel the line comes off the spool counter clockwise.
  20. Berkley big game on casting reels and trilene xl for spinning reels
  21. I use 1/20 and 1/15 Most but i fish places that average 3' in depth
  22. Thanks, I am always skeptical of buying line at Wal-Mart because I'm not sure how long it's been sitting on the shelf
  23. does anyone know if berkley has changed their big game label. i recently bought a spool from walmart and the label is different from the other spools i have. the second photo was the spool from walmart the first photo is the spool label i always remember. i am worried about a counterfeit spool
