  1. I have a 7'2" Med heavy Cumara and I love it. Used it for shakey head, small jerk baits, weightless plastics, and drop shots. It has a nice tip and enough back bone to drive a hook home in 25-30 ft of water, plus lifetime warranty
  2. Powell's are great rods and they have a liftime warranty which is nice because I tend to break rods
  3. Thanks a ton that is exactly the kind of info I needed.
  4. thanks does anyone got any suggestions for a decent airbrush gun that is not crazy expensive?
  5. Hey guys, want to start painting some reels that I have and have a question. Can you use an airbrush with a full size air compressor? I have a real nice full size air compressor and don't want to have to buy a smaller one, can I just turn down the flow and pressure on my large one? Any advice will help, I just don't want to mess up my reels. Thanks
  6. Powell makes a sick swim jig rod, there is a *** version and a regular version both have lifetime warranties. They have a swim jig video with Jared Lintner and they show the model. Powell 734 is the number and here is the video http://www.***.com/vlogpage.html?ccode=VLOG048

  10. no one has mentioned the Xcal Jimmy- that thing is sick!! Walks easier than the Sammy, but I change the hooks to Owners (don't like the ones on them)
  11. I pour my own, but the best shakey head that I have used other than the ones we pour is Stirke Kings Shakey Head. It has a longer shank hook and a nice eye. Absolutely need fluorocarbon, tried most of them, BPS fluoro is great followed by Segaur (a little Stiff) and Sunline (pricey) get 6-8 lb. Zoom finesse worm in green pumpkin red, 7 ft med heavy spinning rod of your choice ( I love my Cumara, but took me a while to pull the trigger buying that thing) and you are golden!
  12. 1/4 oz tungsten, 4-0 Trokar or Paycheck hook, parasite clip, and bobber stop or Tru tungsten stop
  13. Great Ideas!!! I will be trying these this weekend.
  14. Hey Guys, I tournament fish in the winter and have found ways to keep my hands warm, but I cannot for the life of me keep my feet warm. Any Suggestions? I have tons of wool socks, Under Armour boot socks, everything but heated socks, should I give these a try? Any input would be great, because when my feet get cold I get cold. Thanks
  15. Has anyone changed the lower unit oil on an Optimax 150? About to change my lower unit oil and was just looking for any pointers, or lttle tricks that you typically only know about after doing it hundreds of times? Thanks Paxamus
  16. VERY NICE!!! I am about to start trying to paint some of my Revos, are you sanding or stripping the old paint? I am going to get an airbrush kit and use my big compressor to p[ower it, any tips would be greatly appreciated. (I am going to practice on an old reel first though)
  17. Reaction Innovations is switching the manufacturer of their BMF Hooks and Barbs so they will be out for at least a couple of months. I recently called their main office to ask about buying in bulk (they don't sell in bulk) and asked about their hooks, that news came straight from them.
  18. Thanks, I was going to try the sliding the band back trick, but wanted to ask first.
  19. The Paca chunk Sr has the same size claws as the Paca Craw, only no body.

Hey guys, I have a bunch of jigs that I love however I do not like the rubber band skirt keepers. I am planning on tying them with copper wire then cutting the rubber bands, are there any tips to this? I just don't want to mess up some of my favorite jigs Thanks
  21. I will have to give my vote for Trilene 100% Fluoro. I recently gave Plines Halo a try and did not like it.
  22. Get a good spinning reel that you like, I am an Abu fan. But the rod, I love my 6'8" Cumara with medium action. I use it with 8lb fluoro and a 1/4 oz head all year long. I love that setup and the Cumara is sick.
  23. I love my MC60s I have three of them and caught fish on all three. I mainly use them around cover, I like the way they come through lay downs.
  24. I use Trilene 100% and really like it, but I am about to give P-line Halo a shot. Doing this because all my other line is P-line and thought I would give it a chance.
  25. I've got two Cumaras, one 7'2" MH for big jigs and worms, and the 6'8" M spinning for Shakey heads. I love those rods, I want two more, but haave to wait, they are pricey.
