Line for Cranks
What lb CXX are you using? I use Trilene 100% 12 lb as well, but have a special place in my heart for CXX. I use 10lb mainly, but have gone to 8lb with confidence. The Trilene 100% is great, and definitely has the most abrasion resistance of any fluoro I've tried, but CXX is....CXX . I love the Trilene, but like you said CXX is hard to beat. I need to respool my crankin reel and was wondering about the pound, I just hate loosing a crank bait. I normally use a deeper crank than the depth I am in, so I might try the 10 lb CXX

Where the heck is Bill Dance fishing?????
First, I am glad that there are still sane people out there who recognize and respect what Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, Roland Martin, Hank Parker, and others have done for our sport. Second , it is soap box time. I have had the privledge of meeting Bill Dance twice, once when I was about six and another when I was in my late twentys. He was as nice at six as he was twenty years later. When most kids were looking up to Bo Jackson, I wanted to be Bill Dance (minus the Tennesse hat). He is a great guy and an excellent fisherman. As far as Roland Martin, Bill Dance, and others endorsing various things, They have to!! The money then and the money now are on two ends of the spectrum. Ok off of the soap box, yes most of his fishing is done in private lakes and ponds throughout the sotheast, but it doesn't matter because I just want to be fishing with him.

I just saw Shaw Grigsby on a Lowrance ad...and I'm scared!!!!
The gloves and mask thing is to prevent too much sun exposure while he was fishing for (I believe) Bonefish. Any time you are spending that much time on the deck of a boat in the Keys, Carribean, or any clear shallow flat you not only have to worry about the sun from above, but also the reflection from below. I worked in the Keys for a summer and did not realize that that sun could be that bright. As far as the commercial, I saw it but I believe that was also the first time that I had seen him without a hat. Shaw is one of the nicest guys and best ambassador for fishing.

Quantum vs Abu Garcia
I will admit, this is going to be an Abu biased post. I have always fished Abus, and up until the Revos came out, their low profile stuff wasn't anything to write home about, however the Revo series is SWEEET. I have 2 SX's, 2 S's, and the Revo Inshore. If you like the magnetic brake then definitely the SX or STX or Premiere. However if you are a Centrifugal Brake fan then the S is hard to beat. After all of those years throwing the big 5600's I feel more conformtable casting the S for distance, I mainly use the SX's for my pitching. I use the Inshore for my cranking. Sorry so long, but I just love the Revos, the Quantums are very nice as well, but I did mention, I am a little biased.

whats a good charger?
If you get an onboard charger, then definitely get one that has enough bans for each battery. I let the dealer talk me into getting one that has only two banks (one for each trolling battery) but not one for the cranking battery. Well twice I have put the boat in the water and no crank!!!! Drives me nuts, I am about to get a three banker!!

Shortening a rod handle
Hey guys, I have a rod that i love for jerkbaits, however the handle is about one to one and a half inches too long. I am planning on cutting it down, was just wondering if there are any tips from those of you with more experience in rod building on this? Any certain way I should cut and how should I finish the butt of the rod? Any input or direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks
-
Can you Shorten a Rod handle?
Balance is not a big deal, I will be using it for jerkbaits. It was a rod that I have used for cranking in the past, but the handle is just too long. Does anyone build rods on here, because I would like some tips, I might even try to get fancy with it.

Can you Shorten a Rod handle?
Hey guys, I have a rod that I love for jerkbaits it has the perfect action for me, but the handle is about an inch and a half too long. Does anyone know how to cut the handle down? That extra length catches on everything as I am using it. Thanks

best line for son's pole.
Whatever diameter the reel calls for, be it 6# or 8# use that diameter, but I would spool it up with some P-Line CXX. That stuff is tough and cheap. i have heard good things about Cajun Red Cast, but have no experince with it. That CXX is real tough though.

Revo
I have got 2 S's, 2 SX's, and an Inshore. You can't go wrong with a Revo. Now the SX only has linear magnetic brakes which are great, but they feather the end of the cast while the S, STX, Winch, and Inshore all have centrifugal brakes (the STX has both). The Centrifugal brakes control the initial part of the cast. For me I cast REAL hard and the centrifugal brakes help me more than the mag brakes. Plus the STX, Winch, and Inshore all have the Infinispool which allows for a longer cast (the Premier also has this, but have heard that it is not much difference in performance for the STX at a higher price). But so far I am so happy with all of my Revo's. Sorry for the long post.

Fenwick Elite tech Crankshaft Rod?
Has anyone used the new Fenwich Elite Tech Crankshaft rod? I would love to buy one, but can't find any reviews. If anyone has any input please let me know, or any other crankin rod.

Revo Inshore
I fished my Inshore yesterday for the first time and it ROCKS!!!!! I love that reel. I had thought about getting a Revo Winch for cranks but still wanted the 6.3 gears and this thing is so sweet. I just wish that I would have bought it sooner!! I got it off of Lakeside reels on eby with ver quick shipping.

Catching a bass with a snake.
That just makes my shotgun trigger finger itch!!!

Revo Inshore
I hope that it is s good as you say, I ordered an Inshore off of ebay, I figured I can get HPCR bearings and a high capacity spool for around 160 I think that I just found my new crankin reel (plus I like high speeds on my crankin reels) Thanks for the help

Crankin line
How abrasion resistant is that Ultrasoft Roadwarrior? I have not used it but was worried it would be like the cx, strong tensile strength, but not to abrasion resistant due to its diameter.
-
Crankin line
I was using pline cx, however, it was so thin that I lost too many crankbaits with it. Not lost that many wit the fluoro, but that stuff is expensive to backlash.
-
Crankin line
Hey guys, I am thinking about getting a new line for crankin, I am using Trielen 100% fluoro right know and am decently happy, except t doesn't cast as far as I would like and I am getting too many backlashes with it. I don't think that it is my thumb, but does anyone have any favorites?
-
Revo Inshore
Has anyone had any experience with the Revo inshore? I am thinking about getting one and was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge about it. I love my other Revo's but this one is just calling me. Thanks

P line Fluoro
Like I said earlier, I have been using Trilene 100% fluoro for cranks, jigs/ worms, and shakey heads and been fairly happy. I love pline's other lines, but not tried their fluoro's. i am not happy with the way the Trilene casts, both on spinning and baitcasters, but it is tough. Is the halo or other pline fluoro as tough as the trilene?

P line Fluoro
Hey guys, I am using Trilene 100% fluoro on my spinning, cranks and jigs/worms, was thinking about trying some of the Pline fluoro's. What do yall think of them?

The New Revo Toro
