  1. That thing is wild!!! I think I can see all the lures I’ve lost with it…….

  5. Fun day out on the town with the poor man’s ned rig.
  6. Smallmouth indeed
  7. I’ve been a part of poisoning water to get rid of exotics, it’s pretty tricky on a trout stream 3 meters wide haha
  8. The water in this massive reservoir is the wettest water I’ve ever seen
  9. Thanks man! A BS in wildlife/fisheries management is still ………. BS hahaha. yea from what I’ve seen they love taking comments and emails from the public. Then they just do whatever they were going to do regardless of all the public comments. I can’t blame them, the public isn’t going to agree and are mostly full of bologna anyhow like all of our customers for example. They think bats will eat all the mosquitos in the world and snakes will eat all the mice in the world and that possums will eat all the ticks in the world. Well there’s ten million possums, ten million ticks, ten million bats, and ten million mice. Just like those fishermen that think musky and striper eat up all the bass and crappie. Humans are obsessed with different food items so they think fish and wildlife are the same way, when really they are just surviving and reproducing. They don’t care what they eat as long as they eat moral of the story: POSSUMS EAT MORE GARBAGE THAN TICKS
  10. Hahaha I know that feeling. We already have too much crap, why buy more?
  11. I have no clue, just reading the replies. I don’t buy jack squat on the internet. Maybe one gift per year if my wife sends me a link to what she wants for Christmas. She used to want me to surprise her but I strategically messed that up a few times, now she just tells me exactly what she wants. Even then I can usually walk into REI and grab it haha
  12. They’ve started stocking FL strain in pretty much every pool on the TN river, chickamauga was the first many years ago. After they saw how well it worked, they now stock them in pickwick , watts bar, fort loudoun , (probably nickajack), and I would imagine KY lake. The biologists have taken samples of very large bass at tournament weigh ins and found either 100% of them, or close to 100% of them, to be F1 hybrids. They stock pure Florida strain that can’t compete with native fish so they “join them” (hybridize)
  13. Well it sounds like at least 3 of our members had a problem, must be something to it
  14. I feel like I’ve been to at least a couple such meetings, one was for a proposed slot limit for smallmouth on Norris lake and the other was some movement spearheaded by Larry dahlberg trying to ban live bait. They were a waste of time and gas, about like going to and HOA meeting after studying all kinds of aspects of fisheries management, it’s actually way simpler than any could ever imagine. Therein lies the problem. If you take care of the water the fish will be fine. Only problem is humans can’t handle that simplicity and would rather just argue about it
  15. I think I’ve already told this story on here somewhere but why not do it again. I took two clients fly fishing way up into the mountains and on the ride back into civilization it somehow came up that I do a good Shaw grigsby impression. Well by golly they phoned him up and put me on the spot, I did a Shaw grigsby impression to Shaw grigsby over the phone. “Catchin’ big ole pigs!!!!!”
  16. Possibly true, but I’ve been hearing that my whole life and I still see a few thousand gas Diesel engines all day every day. The people that sell oil aren’t going to go away quietly
  17. As long as you’ve got a job, show up and be thankful . The rest can go all kind of different directions
