  1. Hahaha! All I’ve seen in Ohio was round cow ponds and frozen rivers but Erie looked nice! Chickamauga has been on a downward trend for about 4 years now, a lot of guys that live right next to it travel elsewhere to fish
  2. Great year and neat collage
  3. Those dogs will hunt!! You’d have to stay on plane to keep the smallies off those
  4. That’s typically weather dependent, you could have driven to the Gulf of Mexico and found iced over coves in February last year Smallmouth is one thing we’ve got in surplus, it seems to be the most common game fish around .
  5. hahahahah!!!! Mine is the laziest dog on earth but whenever he takes a notion, he’s wide open full throttle. Like when we couldn’t find him one day but could hear muffled barking and found him way up under my shed and had to drag him out
  6. I always knew you were a philosopher
  7. Good girl!!
  8. Well the monster bass are in southern Georgia…….. NC it seems falls, Jordan, and Sheron Harris are the hot spots. I could write a long novel on what’s available in Tennessee. Some of the best fishing lakes are not what I call fun to fish, like chickamauga, guntersville, Douglas, pickwick. They can be very fun at times but they are mostly always crowded and the waves are big . There are smaller less crowded spots that can offer fishing almost as good. South Carolina I would either fish somewhere with a huge spotted bass population like hartwell in winter. Or maybe a summer time trip fishing the cypress trees of santee cooper. Northern Georgia, I didn’t know they had water.
  9. Depends on where you go. Winter is the time to catch big ones down south
  10. That just cuts down on travel which I’m a big fan of doing!
  11. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it , but it’s been good so far for bombing 1/4 oz bitsy flip and a few nice smallies. It makes short Casts smoother as well. I only experimented because of worn out gears
  12. I’ve only dipped my toes in, and I didn’t necessarily do it on purpose at first but it’s nice to have at least one reel without it . @bulldog1935knows a lot about casting distances and I have seen pics of his distance reels without level winds . I also watch a cat fisherman on YouTube that uses reels without levels winds. I thought why not try it because I have a few reels with worn out worm gears . The cast is much smoother without the friction but only if you remember to spool all the line evenly haha. After an outing or two its second nature
  13. I’ve killed several beaver ponds……..
  14. I think billichick is looking better than Brady this year
  15. Good thing you didn’t bet the over!
  16. I think it can be but being in the middle of nowhere prevents big crowds. I’ll just be camping in a tent and freezing my arse off
  17. Hahahaha! You know what I meant…….. brining bird with this while eating pizza Tuesday
  18. Shoot………. I’ve disproved the big fish don’t taste good theory enough times……… then again I’ve never caught a 10 lb walleye much less an 18. Big fish just have a lot more delicious meat. I think you have to kill the fish for it to be a record anyway but I guarantee I could make a giant walleye taste great as long as people didn’t know how big it was before they tasted it
  19. I’ll try to remember to snap a pic of what my wife bought the other day. Tuesday is brine night with pizza haha
  20. Quite surprising someone wouldn’t realize they are always watched nowadays
  21. I’m hitting dale hollow for a weekend this spring or maybe winter , not sure yet. Hopefully there’s decent camping, I’ve never been
  22. I got out on the water with @galyonjyesterday, i headed downstream in search of striper . That didn’t pan out so we tried a cove and got a couple decent bass in short order. He got his on a wacky rig purple worm and I got mine on the xzone lures whiplash shad, and boy did he eat it! Thanks for great looking baits @Jim Van Ryn
  23. I learned how to reel line onto a baitcaster without a worm gear/level wind. So now I have two reels that I took them out of and I can cast lighter lures much further.
  24. -Holy Bible -The River Why -Sand County Almanac -Four Fish
  25. Don’t lean a ladder against it! My neighbor had a similar setup about 16 feet and was trying to figure out how to change the brass screw top . I think he finally found a tall step ladder but an extension ladder would just spin around the pole
