  1. KISS.......for me, braid with leader or straight braid. Used to use the moss greens, moving to high vis ( old eyes). Uni knot works in most cases. The longer I do this, the simpler I go
  2. They are popular with those living off the grid with big solar systems. My buddy uses them st his camp and swears that because it has a " green" label on them, it cost significantly more.
  3. Especially if enjoyed on a boat!
  4. @slonezp thanks! Is that a 10 footer? Looks like I cut another check
  5. I haven't seen a shallow water anchor on an aluminum boat, but I think I want one. Despite the added weight, is there anything else I should consider? I was thinking about a 10 footer. Thanks
  6. Great point that I did notice thanks consider
  7. Heck, I feel like a kid at Christmas putting the new rig together. I know one does not NEED the self deploy of the Ulterra, but given I plan on this being the last boat I buy, 500.00 over the period of years, doesn't seem that bad, but it does pay for some nice batteries, ect...... In your opinion, is this feature worth 500? Anyone with the terrova wish they went for the Ulterra? Thanks guys....
  8. howdy.....from the Live Free or Die state...
  9. If you are set in your choice, a drop of super-glue might help.....but many complain about knots and micros

I have found that presenting as a wounded fish are better than a live one, unless you are over beds
  11. I have a ci4 on that exact rod. The cronarch mgl is also a great fit
  12. For me, size matters and while the difference in clarity is noticeable, it's not like you are going to miss anything. I am in a similar situation and am considering Hummingbird.......like you said, familiarity with Garmin and Lowrance is holding me back
  13. Everything I have is left hand crank.......I can crank with either, but can set the hook and work bait better with Right
  14. Tom, are you referring to Fin ? I have also been happy with Gamma
  15. Working on it....but may have to start the yr on a generator. ..........but can easily pull the boat if needs be. That's a big reason for going 36 v TM
  16. Black plastics work well, don't see the need for braid, but I do use moss green. For guys that use Hi-Vis braid, it coloring the last ten feet black, I am indifferent. To each his own
  17. I think I tried them all this summer and there's a 50/50 chance of finding the decoy snap on a rod
  18. All good advise, but I use a lot of snaps. There are many good companies producing them and I have yet to loose one this year. I still retie after a couple fish
  19. If your getting Skunked at this time of year, you are probably fishing to fast or staying with a presentation to long. Slow down, relax, and don't be afraid to change it up. Many of my Summer go-to's are now sleeping for the Winter and Fall top waters and buzz baits are on deck.......oh, and big jigs too ?
  20. That is now the plan, thanks
  21. Much appreciated! Are you running the live wells and electronics off the cracker?
  22. Please tell me if my thinking is wrong. I have decided to go to a 36 v system for my TM on my 1775, Thinking about a separate deep-seated for electronics and live wells and 1 cranking battery. Do I need a 4 bank charger, or would a 3 bank and alternator charger for the electronics battery work? I am not a tournament guy, but get out 5 days a week.....usually 1/2 days.. Thanks in advance,Al
  23. The only thing I buy the insurance for is an Apple laptop.........because it's required
  24. I have a dozen and reach for the Columbia evey time now
  25. When your buddy catches 3 fish while your peeing off the back of the boat ?
