  1. Great looking boat and there are a few reviews on youtube.....comgrats
  2. Thanks for sharing! Awesome...
  3. In most cases the actual breaking strength of braid is significantly higher than its rated strength. I have never witnessed the "digging in" that some talk about. I believe line management probably takes care of that. I seldom fish in the sal and also hit the open water for strippers and have never used anything over 20 lb and that is for 40 inch strippers.. Most here will say to go with 30 lb. To each his own. For me, spinning reels, CB and finesse techniques get 10. Everything else gets 20
  4. This is what I have and it is rated for computers so I think it is pure, but will double check. http://powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu2000i
  5. Yup, pulling the boat today. Going to miss the fall fishing, but look forward to a new boat in the Spring......Makes it worth it!
  6. I love this bar!
  7. That's definitely a way to become a drop-off shotter.....nice boat!
  8. Folks, While looking at charging systems for the new boat I stumbled upon http://www.stealth1charging.com/. My problem is simple......I will be keeping the new boat on a dock a lot of the time and am looking at charging the batteries via a Honda generator, so anything that helps gets my attention. I am looking to power a 24 volume system and a separate battery for electronics and wells. Any input is appreciated. Thanks Al
  9. BPS told me today that the scale around the Classic is hard to beat
  10. Wow, it took a few minutes to realize I was reading a 10 yr old thread. ........ Since we are here.....last week my wife and I we on my buddies range. I was taking a break, he was on the bow and the Mrs is peeing off the back. He hooked one near a log, hit the TM and my wife was pants down in the water! Almost ticked my pants. She failed to see the humor
  11. Depending on how deep you plan on going, this could be a big project. One of my students did something similar for his Senior Honors Thesis, and really had to dial it down and get specific. Fist thing I would do is to reach out to some custom rod builders and expand from there. Good luck!
  12. I reel set most and if the line darts for the surface, try and time the jump with a firm pull turning the fish at the last minute. This means that I am not housing the fish in. This is one reason, I have gone to high speed reels........no slack especially when they charge the boat
  13. Makes perfect sense, and thanks. I know bugger is better, but what is the size of your unit at the TM, appreciated!
  14. Gents, the only folks that run electronics at the TM on my lake, is tournament guys, and I don't see myself going down that path. That said, I love my toys and fishing will be my primary retirement activity. This Fall I am reading and watching everything I can and comparing unit. My question...........many say duel or linked units have changed how they fish, spend more time fishing and not looking, and becoming more productive. If this is the case can you please expand in this? Apologies for being a pain in the *ss, but I want to set the new boat up right the first time. Al
  15. I don't think you need a deticated rod for Chatterbait and IMHO a fiberglass or blended rod will end up just taking up space on the boat. I have run chatterbait on M/F, MH/F, MH crankbait rods. It depends on size and techniques
  16. Is it full of water or empty?
  17. They are called "idiot" gagged for a reason
  18. I just went through the process again and it really helped to narrow the search to 2 or 3 boats and decide what is a want and what is a need. This time I got lucky when I stumbled onto a great dealer saving me 10k in the transaction when compared to other dealers. When dealing on CB, expand your search to several stated, and don't be afraid to drive. I have also found that boats presented in prestine conditioned usually check out. Good luck and be patient!
  19. Looking at the new technology, I may have to bump the budget and appreciate the thoughts on the 2 units
  20. What hummingbird are you using and do you use 2?, thanks
  21. You will be fine, but remember that stopping is harder than pulling, plan accordingly
  22. This is an area that I don't know what I don't know and can't miss what I haven't had. Given a lot of my fishing is in less than 20 ft, I would think side imaging would be a good thing but don't know if I would need it in both???
  23. The dealer is going to prop it when we get it in the water.....included Originally it was for one, but rethinking it the benifits ofm2 in which case I would go 1500ish
