  1. My buddy uses dies, colors plastics and has ton of colors. I use black/blue and green pumpkin and seldom get out fished. Since nothing live resembles black/ blue, I don't give great credence to color. I think in our case it is technique........I am slow, he is fast
  2. I have found that dropping Temps until they reach 60 can be a tough time, especially given the amount of Fronts coming through. Top water is just a few weeks away
  3. Not in the sense of uncharted lakes/ponds
  4. I would like to keep electronics under 1k And am looking at the Ulterra
  5. As far as electronics, I would like to keep it under 1k and I am familiar with Garmin and lorange I am also looking at the ulterra for a trolling motor. Don't really care about linking the two Thanks
  6. While I would have preferred the pro v, the misses swayed me to this compromise
  7. What a difference a good dealers makes! Got a great trade and good pricing on a 18, 1775 Impact Sport with a 115 Honda ( 125 max). The only thing I need to decide is what trolling motor and electronics.....and am open to suggestions. I want to thank everyone here for their input! Al
  8. @Delaware Valley Tackle, will be getting 6 reals in in a month. I support those that support me
  9. I am starting to think that baits like the rat, duck, WP and now the bat are all so similar it doesn't matter. This year I caught similar numbers on the 110 As I did last yr on the rat. Admitably, water conditions can change things a bit, but I see these as largely the same. I will be passing in this one.
  10. A simple Google search with" pontoon trolling motors" will show you very specific options. There are a few on my lake, and they are used to navigate rocky areas, then drop an anchor. For this, they are fine! A 24v is all you need, but get the biggest you can. A remote is also useful.
  11. I have a buddy who only throws jigs and poppers. He has great results as he has become very proficient with both, but his numbers are lower than mine as I tend to use a more diverse arsenal
  12. Awesome, I seldom see the browns
  13. http://www.gloomis.com/content/g-loomis/us/en/home/conventional/rods1/bass/e6x-bass/E6X_Swimbait.html Very happy with mine
  14. last night. Just buy the freekin boat! She's a keeper!
  15. One companies fast is another's Xf fast. No standard way of measuring...
  16. Nothing real special about this 3 pounder, but the fact that 8 in the boat this AM, means Fall is kicking in.....
  17. The 110 has far surprised the 90 for me......so much, I no longer throw them
  18. That's silly. If I gave up on a bait because I didn't have luck the first time out, I would only have a 1/3 of my tackle. The 110 has been my best producer for numbers and size, but I too get Skunked from time to time. Stay the course!
  19. Anyone following me around has accrued a nice collection. This weekend, while trying to impress a hot bikini clad chick in another boat, I threw. WP into a tree. Being embarrassed, I told a kid it was his if he wanted to climb. He did!
  20. Love jerk baits, and a reel set works fine. They hook themselves. I seldom have slack in the line. On a pause there may be a gentle bow in the line and I also use a fast speed reel. As close to surface strikes as it gets!
  21. For what you describe the fastest action you can get is good. I think the worm/jig is Xf, but could be wrong. That is what I use. I have it paired with a stradic 2500 and is well balanced. I forget the price of the reel. Good luck, you will be happy
  22. I am a loomis guy for now and the GLX is what got me there. Have not fished a better rod. I am sure others will disagree
  23. To the OP'S original question, I tend to use faster reels for this as I am naturally a slower reeler
  24. I use one, but more for open water. I don't see why a 2500 wouldn't work if you are using quality mono
  25. I have an e6x for CB, SB and jig/worm. Very happy with them, but don't compare to the GLX. If you can discount on a GLX, it is money well spent
