  1. I don't believe that insurance requirements would allow a minor to participate. On the outside possibly, your guardian would have to sign off. Additionally, being a 2nd year bank fisherman, I think your time is better spent having fun and enjoying the sport. Competitions can be very stressful for experienced guys. I also think this would required support from your folks too
  2. Since there are charts and the Navionics app, I would go for the motor
  3. Darkness is your friend!
  4. The spro rat has been the most productive bait st night followed by a black spinner bait
  5. Howdy Folks, The 110 is my favorite jerkbait and was wondering what you think of the +1 and Jr? The plus 1 has my interest.... Also wondering what colors you prefer. All my hits today was on JB and water Temps continue to drop. We are now in the high 60's
  6. Jerk baits ruled this AM.....Getting to be that time of the year again
  7. Aquaholics, bottom feeders, jiggers, hookers braidsmen
  8. When I was using it, I would do between 7 and 10. Regardless of number I think up and back should be the same since you are trying to make Chinese fings
  9. With the exception of some leader material, I have given up on FC, but am still in the braid camp. Perhaps this will change at some point, but I just don't like the feel of mono. If I was convinced my percentage would increase, it would revisit.
  10. A weedless t-rig is the obvious choice, but I would throw a surface bait to see if anything wanted to come up and play
  11. ^^^this. Last Summer my jig rod was getting constant use and brought me my best and biggest fish. This year, CB'S have taken it's place. I hear that many are experiencing the same thing. This makes little sense to me, but I don't care as my averages are up this year. I still have one always tied on, it just hasn't been one of those seasons
  12. In the east, wind direction can have little effect on many lakes do to the size and island placement. Anglers not comfortable on lakes like my home lake (Squam) will waste a lot of time before figuring it out. For these reasons the lake temp doesn't vary much and craw is the meal dejour. Structure is far more important and understanding the reefs are invaluable
  13. Absolutely, talking about bottom contact creating deflection
  14. It can and does if it occurs immediately at the deflection. The bill point down at 90 degrees and exposes the front trebles. It happens more in shallow water as geometry takes over. It happens a lot with me as I have started to use deeper divers in this application, and the bills really expose the hooks
  15. @Way2slow thanks for going the extra mile here. I didn't know what I didn't know.......It is also why I like the site.
  16. Just to add to the above good replies, if I am throwing something other the a GY or bigger than 5", I use a weighted hook.
  17. I catch far more on crankbaits and tend to fall in love with a select few. I did expand my suspended jerk baits and have pleasantly surprised. I really do think more jigs are in order as simply changing the trailer, changes the bait
  18. There are several places in NH where barrels have been removed as state studies show, areas with barrels tended to have more litter. There was no way the state could keep up with emptying them. They went withh the "carry in, carry out" signs and it worked best and have To say it is working at the major train heads.
  19. Grass master has treated me well http://www.cabelas.com/product/All-Terrain-Tackle-Grassmaster-Jig/1222690.uts?productVariantId=3394895&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03617946&rid=20&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz_TMBRD0ARIsADfk7hRI8ZHvB5cuNsgwJyar12HGfJbjgs9_tR-eNhdwHPVtvFl_8pe21rwaAij6EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/All_Terrain_Tackle_Grassmaster_Jig/descpage-ATTGJ.html
  20. Don't misunderstand, there are plenty of bass, you just don't see a lot of 3 and 4 pounder especially at this time of the year.. Secondary points, docks and shade are your friend
  21. @Evan Lip RipperRipper this thread is 7 yrs old so I expect that may of the guys have moved on, but be here is something in my gut that believes it will be "revived"......
  22. If your loosing CB, look to buy more boyant baits, and they are usually cheaper. Also, you may want to choose a deeper diving bait, you real it is slower and often loose less because of the size of the bill and how it passes through the water. Today I used a 15' in 10 ' and it ran like a champ
  23. I have a couple casting reels with 10 lb 832. The backing is old braid and a couple times a day, I really throw it and reel it under pressure. It just works for me.....never had a problem with digging
  24. Welcome to Summer, but rest easy, this GS are starting to change and September will bring the nass closer to the shore for you. You should also try some surface lures during dawn and dusk.
  25. Don't hear of much 3-4 lb bass coming out of there.....Doesn't mean there isn't, but a call to a local quite may help.
