Will my car battery charger work for trolling motor battery?
Good info here......I had always used the rule 10 amps for 10 hrs was the initial charge for the season and let the smart charger do the rest.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Nothing real special about this fish except that it gave no fight and basically committed suicide. I was lifting the CB from the water and it dove on to the rear treble. My partner almost p*ssed his pants.

Path to becoming a better fisherman
It's like real estate...Location, Location,Location It's like skeet shooting.....put the projectile on the target Admitably I too need to work on location, and informed my partner that for the rest of this year his will be my focus for the rest of the year, which means we may get shutout from time to time. Think I will be buying a few book too!

A two-fer ...almost
Wasn't planning on fishing today and was just hanging with the family in a quiet cove. Decided to throw a suspending jerk bait over some grass, the holy *****......things just blew up. Though I had a monster but there was no rhythm!!!!!! Really thought I could have a state record! Got it to the boat and 2 were on separate trebles. I asked for the net and the gal knocked one off then the other threw the bait. I have seen this a couple times on YouTube but never in person. Has this happened to anyone else? I am getting to like the mcstick!

What is the attraction to low test braid?
If you are talking price, you can't tell the cost until the accounting period is over. A 150 yard spool could last 8 yrs. Spool 75 yards over backing Use it 2 years Swap ends and use 2 yrs Repeat with the remainder of the original spool. Assuming the original spool was 8.00 more expensive, it has cost you less than a cup of coffee per year to have the line you desire.

When to use leaders
There is no set rule and I am sure others will chime in I use straight braid for everything that does not touch the bottom......surface, swimmers Anything that touches the bottom gets FC leader Anything on a spinning setup gets a leader also

What is the attraction to low test braid?
Everything up to 2 ounces and yes, on baitcasters. Spinning gear 10 lb Caster with CB. 10 lb Caster with everything else 20 lb.....including 2 ounce surface and swimmers Edit...those concerned about digging in should consider smackdown..

What is the attraction to low test braid?
My first experience with braid was 10 lb on a spinning rod and loved it. I then tried 10 answer 20 on a casting set up. Was then given a 30 lb to use and it felt like rope and I sacrificed casting distance. Truth be told, I seldom am in the weeds and mostly on flats and droppoffs. Last Fall I went for strippers and was bringing in 35 inch strippers on 10 lb Braid had great luck. I believe the biggest bass on my lake this year was just over 6 lbs. I have Never had an issue with it digging in......so simply stated, it is my comfort zone and I can always bump it up if needed. Side note, I have yet to use FC leader bigger than 15, and often times tie directly. Hope this helps

Youth Sponsorship help
Start with writing your resume and think about what you bring to a company/manufacturer i would assume that if you are at this point, you must have a relationship with a shop or two. If not, you need to. Quick question, are you still competition in snowboarding, if so what level? (USASA, USSA, FIS, Rev-tour)?

Youth Sponsorship help
The two worlds are totally different. I have coached dozens of fully sponsored Snowboarders to include athletes on the US team, and can tell you that obtaining support on the snow is much easier than fishing. My brother in law is on the loomis/ shimano program and the requirements are different. In fact his son, who in his own right is a great fisherman is just starting down that road and he is a college senior. I don't mean to squash your hopes, but SB assistance is far easier to come by. Good luck Edit...most SB sponsorships are through local shops and and very few go right to the company and those that do are few and far between. The fishing industry isn't nessessarily the same

Line Suggestion For A Dobyn Extreme 703SF?
I am a braid to leader guy, unless I can go all braid for non-bottom baits. My spinning reels get 10 lb 832 as it does sink well My casters get 10-30 lb depending on purpose.
