  1. Blue is designed to be better on abrasive surfaces. I use it a lot, but not sure I will replace it when I am out since I retie leaders often
  2. Life is finally simple!
  3. Gamma and smackdown are my choice for that reason. I use 832 when I need something to sink faster
  4. Morning dawn, brown Grey, black, in that order for me. I seriously doubt that colors matter when the bite is on. If buying one, flip a coin for MD or Brn The second should be black for night fishing
  5. I tried it and it worked as well as most. I switched to braid and life is better now. I use the FC as leader
  6. The only other thing that crosses my mind is.......do you need a GLX MBR since I can't imagine ultimate sensitivity is a nessessaty........admittedly I could be wrong
  7. This also has me looking at the GLX MBR 782 which is 6'6" Going to see if I can demo one this weekend
  8. Something you don't see every day.....and it was battery operated!
  9. I did when I first started using the FG but jot so much anymore
  10. Thanks for sharing! The good Lord willing, my goal for next Summer is to have 3 generations ( son, grandson) on the water, wetting a worm
  11. Thanks......I probably should have ask what the best loomis rod for jerks..........I suspect the MB 110+1 (.5 ounce) is the biggest I will throw I never thought I would be this much into JB, but I am finding it much more versatile than originally thought
  12. Would the 842c MBR glx be a better choice given my application? And thanks for sharing your thoughts
  13. Folks, have a GLX 853c JWR and totally love each it and planned on buying a second. I have been looking at the GLX 843c MBR and am wondering about the difference and pro's and cons. This second rod will be with the intention of throwing plastics, jigs and jerks. I am also open to other suggestions, but need to stay with loomis Thanks, Al
  14. Please don't misunderstand, I used tatsu, but there are many good options out there and inviszx is a good one
  15. For what you described anything more than 6 would ruin the action. When I was using FC, I used Tatsu
  16. I know guys that do and seldom get good sized ones. Those in the tunes do well around docs, but very few big ones are accessible by sure......at least around me
  17. "On Golden Pond"
  18. I find myself fishing with purpose. After a few good fish, I try to decide the likelihood of a bigger one in the area. If that's the case I change bait. If that doesn't work I move. If I am bring kids with me, numbers trump size, and I stay
  19. 6 for CB 7 for top water and swimmers 8 for jig and worms
  20. Since I carry 99% of the time, there is a great change it's in my bag while on the boat.
  21. I really don't think it matters so I don't pay for fancy paint jobs. Wide wobble or narrow wobble matters more. The main food sorse on my lake is crawl, so when in doubt, I lean towards those colors
  22. @scaleface makes a lot of sense. I fell into this by accident. While reading in a 4# my daughter needed some help with her fish, which really slowed my bass in getting to the boat. By the time I got him in it was easy and never really tried to throw the popper. It was in that moment that I stopped surfing them in and loosen the drag a bit
  23. ^^^^^this Or Email them directly and explain your situation. I received my answer in 12 hrs.
  24. I would not give up on the baits that are jot producing. Things go in waves and forcing yourself to use them will make it better. You can't have to many arrows in the quiver. I change bait offen, until I am catching the size I want or conditions dictate. I throw a surface bait almost 100% of the time when I get to a new spot. My last resort is using a senko. My best fish have come from CB,JB and top waters. Don't limit yourself. PS, I have not caught a fish on a spinner or Chatter bait this year......and they were my go-to's last
  25. Thanks for the replies and I was wondering how long it was going to take @A-Jay to show those monsters. Should just have pulled the trigger on a few of them. Despite the the price, it is hard to find a negative review on them
