The exact reasons I got the impact 1775..... But I can still pee of the boat as long as have one hand on the motor ?- Jerk/ multi purpose help
Gents I am trying to limit myself to just 2 new rods this year. One is going to be a GLX 852c JWR and I am open to suggestions for primarily a jerk rod that may also work for large poppers and smaller swimmers. For this I am thinking GLX 842c MBR (M/F) or the 843c (MH/F). I realize I don't NEED a GLX for this, and any input is appreciated as long as it is Loomis Thanks, Al- Braid backing
I don't see how a straight up question get caught in the weeds. Most use backing. Most use mono to save money. Others don't......like me Life's a choice.- Braid backing
I use old braid for backing.....I just like the way it performs and have never had any digging in. On a side note, if I am off the coast and getting spooled, I do like to see the old color running off and know I still got line 4x stronger and any mono I would have used- Set the hook.....Fast!
Heck, I guess I should just give then.....- Just Bragging
It's clearly stated in the " Rules for Grandparents" that boasting, bragging and continued Chatter about grandchildren is encouraged and failing to do so make you negligent in your responsibilities.........Well done and congratulations, Al- jobs to deal with fishing
I have a buddy that guides and last year he told me ”if you want to make a little money guiding, stat off with a lot of money” The only guy that I know who makes money and fishes is a retired gent who will take 1 person out with him, providing they have their own gear and asked for a 300.00 donation to his grandsons educational fund.- Open cleats are a fishing rod trap
Last summer a few of us were tied up with the kids. my buddy’s boat is a crown something or other with exposed cleats. His boys were sitting on the rail trying knock each other off, when one pushed the other backwards. The kid slid back and almost punctured his scrotum . ER doc said he has seen this more than once. so, don’t slide on the rail with protruding cleats!- Best Net?
In the event you can’t do it correctly frabile conservation series are darn good- Cold hands
Try applying toe warmers to the inside of a glove over the top of the hand starting from the wrist. It is warmer than the palm side and the sticky material holds it in place. Ski coaches have been doing it for decades- Drop Shot With Bobber Stops
Tried it last year.....failed miserably!- Re-spooling: getting the most for your $
I back with old braid. It cast a bit smoother and far less chance of digging in. It goes on super tight. I have never had a dig-in. If you really want to save $$$$$, after 2 yrs reverse the usable braid. No reason it can’t last you 4 to 5 yrs. I never change my backing- Favorite crankbait that dives 10-15 feet
Agree......I tend to replace my old CB with these. I do with the 10 was a tad more buoyant, but you can’t argue with success- Football jigs on the bottom, Swim jigs through the water column, casting jigs...
Once I have established the weight I want and establish how I want to retrieve it, it doesn’t matter. last year a swim and ball jig yielded the best results in most situation and since I only run 2 or 3 colors, this is the simplest bait to chooses..........I did go to thinner wire hooks and my sets did improve- Portable anchor recommendation
Baby box anchor often on sales around this time at Overtons. the great think is that it only require 2/1 rope length- To Winterize or Not?
- Lund fender buttons
Guys, I am anal about fenders and dock protection. I see mixed reviews on fender buttons....... any thoughts besides the price. I have whips on the dock, but tying up with other boats can be a challenge Thanks, Al- Is BR having a loading problem?
Very sporadic and occasionally times out- Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow!
Since annual precipitation levels are usually within a inces, bring it on so we can make it to Spring!- Bucket list; signed up to co-angler BASS Open
- rules to live by
Words I live by not nessessarily for out doors, but covers everything for me A Poem by Tecumseh “So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.” ~ Chief Tecumseh- Were you a country kid, suburban kid, or urban kid.
Born, raised and still life in NH. Everyone had a rod, rifle/shotgun before we were 10 After the service, started moving where people weren’t . I live 5 minutes from Golden Pond ( movie from the 70’s) in a town with no street lights and few stop signs. Plan on teaching my grandson to hunt and fish. Hope to spend my final years, with a good bourbon, Cigar and a 6.5 lb bass in the boat- Optima Battery
Good price, but you may need to add a 3rd battery on that charger. If that’s the case you could use an extra blue top for cranking. - New Boat
