Fluke Setup
If I am using a light wire hook and no weight, I like a medium spinning rod with braid, maybe with leader depending where I want the bait to run. If I up my hook and add a swivel or nail the bait to get it to run deeper,I can throw it on a M baitcaster with soft tip. I use a GLX MBR.

Megabass Destroyer FMJ for Frogging and Jigs?
Mine is for bottom contact jigs, but could be used for frogs, but the tip is faster than I would prefer

I Keep Gut Hooking Fish on the Drop Shot Rig
Do you know how to remove hooks via going through the gills? If not, Learning to will make life much easier. I don't leave slack in the line and instead of dead-sticking, do a very slow retrieve

G loomis conquest
I have a 842,843 and 903 and throw a 1/2 ounce jig +trailer on my 843. The 903 also works, but prefer it for open water, but I suspect I am in the minority.

Alpha Slasher vs Megabass Jerkbait Special
I have both and like both. I like the feel of the alpha for JB more, but the MB is more versatile. Depends on what you want out of it. ....side note, I think the flatside special out performs both...But that is just personal preference based on what I throw

Orochi XX flat side Special
I use that rod and like it for many treble hook techniques.

When all else fails whats your go to?
For those days, the NED is the bait of last resort. If I am covering an area that is not NED friendly, I cast to an area and slowly troll to it with a painfully slow retrieve, that way my angle of retrieve improves and get hung up far less

How do you prefer to rig your keitechs.
It may be me, but I do better with jig or pegged weight. Weighted hooks, not so mucn

Do you ever fish barbless? Why or why not?
My wife "requires" me to crush her barb. Since she is a very part-time angler, she can be slow on the hook set, and often gets guy hooked fish. Barbless helps she going through the bills to remove it

Best rain gear for a Canada fishing trip?
Not to take this further off topic, but Tom raises a great point. I have taught water survival and it is far easier to swim and survive without shoes, but there is a difference between swimming and surviving. The issue is that most accidents are just that, accidents. They are usually unexpected and many panic in the moment. My boating rain boots are lightweight mucks, 1 size to big......On a side note, OK ow how to get back in your boat if you go over. Cold water Temps make everything harder

Casting Shoulder
I have had my right shoulder reconstructed and both of them hurt after a couple days. I video taped myself and found that while fishing I was raising my shoulders instead of dropping them naturally and relaxing the RC. Relaxing you shoulders even while reeling will help. Advil before and after also helps.

I just got my baitcasting reel. What should I know before my 1st cast?
This works for me 90% of the time

Best rain gear for a Canada fishing trip?
Don't overlook Frabill, they, make awesome stuff at a reasonable price. Their jacket and bids serve me well all year and it's nice not have to have Summer and Spring/Fall pairs. That said, fit is everything when the weather is bad and most companies make quality gear
