  1. I'm am looking to get into drop shotting. I will be buying a 6'9" ML/XF St.Croix avid spinning rod. I just need a reel to go with it. $200 is my max. What suggestions do you guys have?
  2. No prob, the chatterbait and senko were the money baits for me yesterday. The guy I was with was killing them on t-rigged worms and jigs. Cranks didn't get any hits.
  3. I have never fished Geist in this kind of weather. 63 degrees and windy. What do you guys recommend I throw today?
  4. I have Winn, cork, and foam in my arsenal. I really don't have a preference.
  5. In Indiana all of our licenses can be bought on line so I'm sure they can look you up too.
  6. I buy senkos, SK rodents, and a lot of zoom soft plactics.
  7. I got snagged in the white river and lost mine. I didn't catch any fish on it but I don't get to use it that long either.i was trying to slow roll it but my retrieve was too slow for the fall rate of the lure. I'm curious to know if anyone has had success as well.
  8. I have used yum dingers and SK shim-e-sticks. I hate dingers, they suck, I couldn't catch a fish with them. I had some success with the shim-e-stick but neither amount to the senko. I exclusively use senkos and SK Ochos now. Neither are durable but that's the trade off for the good action. Walmart sells senkos cheaper than anyone else.
  9. I have thrown my chatterbaits on a medium heavy graphite rod with a moderate fast taper. I just ordered a glass rod to replace it. I like a more moderate taper with chatterbaits. I don't see the need for an aggressive hooks set and the sweeping action works just fine for me.
  10. Most people that guesstimate weights have never used a scale and they never seem to have pictures either. Good ole fisherman lies.
  11. It will work for treble hooks, u have to adjust your hooksets to the gear that you are using.
  12. I'm headed to Raccon Lake tomorrow. I know it's last minute but csn someone give me some insight as to what lures work best out gthere there?
  13. Daiwa CT Type-R 6.3.1 is what I use.
  14. I still got my original carbon fire and it still works like a champion. I have been on my Daiwa tip now so I haven't really went back to Lew's.
  15. I am a Daiwa fan boy so it hurts to say it but get the Shimano Curado I, its on sale now and th highest I have seen it priced as of now is $149.
  16. I only use mono as a backing and as a leader for topwaters. My main lines are either braid or flouro. Flouro definitely stretches but no where close to mono. I have not had any knot failures with flouro. I guess we all have different experiences which is the beauty of bass fishing.
  17. I started out using 3/8 ounce but now I almost exclusively use 1/2 because i like to slow roll my chatterbaits along the bottom.
  18. I do that faithfully with my braid. I'm all about cutting cost. One set up is going on 3 years with the same braid.
  19. My buddy is learning how to use a baitcaster with a Shakespeare Alpha (right handed) and as I was spoiling it for him I had to tighten the drag counter clockwise which I thought was od. I haven't seen that from any other brand.
  20. I don't use it. I use PowerPro and Suffix 832. I don't like the thick diameter of smackdown and I'm sure not paying $40 for 150 yards. Just an observation no knock to anyone that uses it.
  21. Foraging on insects, bugs, frogs, and baitfish could be the cause of the blow ups.
  22. I would recommend that you throw spinnerbaits on your crank/chatterbait set up and use your spinnerbait set up for weighted soft plactics and jigs. Add a flouro leader to the jigs and soft plactics.
