  1. My local Wal Marts don't sell caffeine shad and neither does cabela's but they do sell zoom super flooks.
  2. Make sure and set the rules before u let someone on the boat. The least someone can do is abide by the rules if you are nice enough to let them on.
  3. If I feel anything tugging I will reel up the slack and setting the hook 8 times out of 10. I'll wait to feel the weight of the fish sometimes but I swing when in doubt.
  4. Let's get back on track to all the tall tales and lies about who created the wacky rig.
  5. I usually fish senkos on braid with a leader, but occasionally I will fish with straight braid. I've caught my biggest bass on a senko with straight braid. I have caught fish on straight braid in clear and stained water. The sink rate is slower with straight braid but it still has it purpose.
  6. LxVE = Love & Value Everything
  7. I'm way too scary to be standing on ice lol
  8. I have given up on crankbaits because they barely produce for me. I may need to try and give it another crack.
  9. Well I guess power pro and suffix are crappy at 30# or maybe it's something I am doing. But 40# has been flawless for me.
  10. I buy Seaguar blue label but when it runs out and I use the regular flouro if I have some avialable. Leader flouro is more stiff and heavy duty but I have zero complaints about resgulsr flouro.
  11. I would get either a M/F or a M/XF. What do you use the current set up for?
  12. I agree with everything said here. But I would recommend 40# braid instead of 30#. The digging in gets annoying.
  13. I am a lefty and all of my casting reels have left hand retrieve. I cast with my right so there is no need to switch hands. It stinks sometimes bein lefty with the limited options but I'm optimistic things will change. Shout out to my left hand brothers!!!
  14. I change flouro out once year. I will put new line on if I get a backlash that I can't untangle.
  15. Your best bet would be throwing a bluegill like swinbait. It can be a slippery slope when bass are running baitfish. Sometimes if you throw something resembling what they are chasing they will strike but sometimes no matter what you throw there just won't be anything with enough drawing power to take them off of their forage.
  16. I wouldn't need a foregrip with how I fish. I feel like it would ad weight to the rod. I feel like choking up on your rod take away some leverage on hook sets.
  17. You might of gotten a bad batch of line. Respool it or use a different brand. Some alternatives are Seagaur Invizx and Trilene 100%z
  18. Just looked on Cabela's website and the Arachnid is listed at 143.99 and the Curado is on sale for 129.99. If you are a lefty like me you will have 2 choices, the Arachnid in 8.1.1 or the Curado in 7.2.1 so if it was me I would go with Curado because I don't need another high speed reel with that much IPT at the moment. But if they had more choices I would probably go with the Arachnid because I am familiar with Daiwa and there is a lifetime guarantee on it.
  19. Rod action will play a big part in keeping you from ripping the hook out of the fishes mouth when using braid. Moderate action rods will give you some cushion. If your are ripping the bait out of the fishes mouth it may be too hard if hookset. I have no problems with braid but I adjust accordingly to what equipment I am utilizing.
  20. I have a set up with 40# braid and a 15# flouro leader. I got stuck between some rocked and it broke off right at the hook which was snelled. The connection knot was an Albright knot. I haven't went below 12# flouro on the leader.
  21. Depends on how they would act if the shoe was on the other foot. If he wouldn't rub it in I would help him out. If he would rub it in I would rub it in but still help him out. Sometimes you gotta let a person know they are getting big leagued. I've been on both ends.
  22. Gotta set the hook sooner. The longer you wait the more likely the fish will swallow the the hook. Try using octopus circle or finess wide gap hooks, they usually hook them on the side of the mouth. Never had a problem with them getting gut hooked.
  23. I can guarantee that an ugly stik will never break whether get a big fish or slam your car door on it. Try the Cabelas Tourney Trail casting rod. It cost $59.9, has IM8 graphite, and a lifetime warranty. I have a Cabelas Tourney Trail casting rod and it has been outstanding for me.
  24. I don't think it has anything to do with using straight braid. That reel was a straight dud. I been going to my local gander like 3 times a week to see how much the prices are going down. If I buy any rods or reels it will be brand other than gander because the manufacturing warranty would still apply. I learned my lesson buying cheap baitcasters when I bought a Silver Max. Fishing stuff is up to 20% now but I'm waiting for bigger deals. I find it funny that all of the senkos were cleaned out of my local gander when they were 10% off but priced at $7.99, not really a discount if you ask me.
  25. Save the money and get some pencils and chopsticks. No need to purchase a spooling station.
