  1. I’d say it’s worth it for sure. Quite the upgrade.
  2. Here we are the eighth of February and the ice is thick enough to get out on. At 3-4” it’s not as thick as I’d like but it’s getting thicker by the day. Either way 6poundbass was happy to get out. We didn’t get anything, we didn’t stay out too long. I’m sure we’ll try again tomorrow. My idea of ice fishing is setting tip ups and looking out the window waiting for a flag.
  3. No doubt the grocery store shelves are empty there.
  4. Miller Lite guy here. I don’t venture too far away from that. I did have a Killians last summer at a baseball game and enjoyed that, I’ll have to grab some more. I’ve tried others but not a fan. My brother is a beer snob, my dad likes to try other types. I stick to what works for me.
  5. That’s wild! You come 2-2.5 hours south to me and it was 35* warmer!
  6. There have been several homes in the past year that have gone into Lake Michigan due to erosion. It’s pretty wild, homes that have been there and handed down for generations now gone.
  7. Talk about burning a spot up real quick!
  8. The house might be gone today.
  9. Pretty hard to bet against John Cox. The man is a fishing machine!
  10. Just pull the trigger and order it, spring isn’t too far away.
  11. Nice rig. Where in Michigan are you located?
  12. Our 6” of snow we were supposed to get starting tonight has been reduced to 3” over the course of 36-48 hours. Then the temps will climb up to the upper 30’s next week.
  13. Well that sucks. I’m guessing the console unit is flush mounted? Can you get underneath the console and unplug the transducer and swap them out to try that route?
  14. Swap the head units out. Doing this you’ll be able to narrow it down to either transducer or head unit. That’ll get you started.
  15. It was actually sunny yesterday and today, temps rose to 48 both days.
  16. That’s how it was with Hank. He’s as big as a horse, so naturally I’d act like I was a farrier.
  17. Do the Gen 2 and 3 come with more memory than the Gen 1 or still the same?
  18. If you don’t have a Humminbird Zero lines card then you can only record about 8 hours of AutoChart Live recording on the unit (at least that’s how it was with the Gen1 units). Either way your internal memory is limited and you’ll need a zero line card if you’re doing a lot of mapping.
  19. I don’t miss mud season and walking Hank down out dirt road every night. Our yard isn’t terrible in the spring, just throw a towel down and wipe the paws when they come in and they’re good to go.
  20. Interesting tid bit I saw this morning while watching the weather. Last year at this time the Great Lakes were 56% covered with ice. This year they are 9% covered. The Great Lakes and our inland lakes are apples and oranges but goes to show you how mild our winter has been. I still don’t trust the ice we have on our local lakes here because it’s been so mild and today and tomorrow are sunny warm and windy so that won’t help the ice building.
  21. If you have a zero lines card, I’d record at the helm and then put the zero lines card on the bow when fishing up there.
  22. He predicted an early spring last year and we got a snow storm in April. ?
