  1. I wouldn't think a plastic grocery bag would be very harmful. Like @WRB said it wouldn't be much different than the weigh-in bags they use. Think about it the bag is very slippery especially when wet so I'd guess it wouldn't removed barely any slime. A plastic bag I'd would guess would be similar to what @A-Jay uses to lay his bass down. Same concept it's slippery when wet reducing friction thus reducing if not eliminating harm to the slime coat. Personally the only time a bass touches the floor of my boat is if it throws the hook before I get a chance to grab it. Since learning of the harm carpet and the ground is to their slime I'm very mindful to quickly grab them. I don't even use a net, although I don't think a rubber net wouldn't be bad, I just don't have one. I've gotten by just fine landing them by hand.
  2. Hopefully she'll never have a burning desire to have a play date with Mr. Porcupine.
  3. Regret selling the crabkbait lot? LOL buy a lotto ticket since you got the net back. Good catch!
  4. It's so hot I'm sweating thru shirts hanging in my closet. Actually it's 72 and no humidity, but I wanted to play along. ?
  5. Pic 1: in my world any day the sun comes up and I'm vertical is a good day. Pic 2: waiting for his brother to make his entrance....don't you mean exit? ?
  6. Two yakers rescued last week by the Coast Guard on the east shore of lake Michigan. They had their PFD's but not on. Waves kicked up and swamped both of them. From the news report they almost didn't survive.
  7. Hopefully he gets a discount on the doctors bill for using your tools and muscle. LOL
  8. How often do you video tape things using your phone? Some things are hard wired in our heads. I've heard my 15 yr old niece say she video taped something.
  9. I'm just getting started bottom fishing so my input is worthless. @J Francho and others are better suited to answer.
  10. Whatever he does tell him not to sneeze! My step-dad had a triple biomass about 2 decades ago. He was at home recuperating and sneezed. That was the most God awful blood curdling sound I've ever heard.
  11. My thumb rarely touches the spool while my lure is mid-flight unless I'm casting into the wind. Just before touchdown I'll stop the spool.
  12. Look it what I stumbled across today. Nobody in the driver's seat to interrogate. @A-Jay coming to a Pro-V Bass near you.....
  13. They are in the business to make money. The fishing rabbit hole! You're stuck here for good. Look at profiles some of these guys on here have been stuck here 15 plus years! Seriously though sit back and enjoy the ride, it ain't all that bad. ?
  14. You aren't kidding about the sound a rabbit makes! I was 8 or 9 and got a 410 for Christmas. Later that winter my step-dad took me out rabbit hunting, one of the guys we were with wounded one with a .22 and man did that thing make one heck of a noise! As you know a sound that you'll never mistake if ever heard again. I got a predator call a few years ago because like you we have a very healthy coyote population. My wife was outside at dusk getting her suet cakes before the coons got them after dark. I quietly opened our bedroom window and hit the wounded rabbit call! LOL the depressing look she had on her face when she came in was priceless! The names I was called after she found out it was me were quite hilarious too!
  15. Every lake is different. The lake you were on 16 pounds might be top 5. Then you go to the Mississippi and 16 pounds might put you in dead last.
  16. You're going south in Oct Correct? Jeez this summer has flown by!
  17. Yup. They have or used to have a hunting show on one of the outdoor channels and they were hunting bigger animals like dyker (I'm sure I spelled it wrong) in Africa and other animals you'd never think a 'pellet gun' would take down.
  18. To quote a country song "I've never seen a hurst with a trailer hitch". Seriously though from watching @A-Jay's reviews it looks like one sweet ride! I know a guy who lives a couple hours north of me and hopefully when the ferns start to die off in the fall I can find that boat and stick my thumb out and see if his offer still stands. ?
  19. I'm going to echo what @J Francho said but add to it. If you're in the city limits and have to use a pellet gun get the highest fps gun you can get. You want to kill them not wound them and make them suffer. If you're outside the city limits I'd get a .22, also check and see how far away from a dwelling you have to be to discharge a firearm (this is only if you go the .22 route). Air rifles have gotten very popular over the past couple years and have become very powerful. If you get a couple cook them up they're pretty darn good to eat. And yes it is similar to chicken. ?
  20. If you don't mind taking the time to make your own maps then I'd say the Plus unit is the way to go. Turn Quickdraw on and have it map the whole time you're on the lake and before you know it you'll have a pretty good map.
  21. No matter what kind of fish it is (I'm guessing they're bass) a top water at dusk especially this time of the year is always a good idea. Most of the lakes I fish I know for a fact don't have carp. Every time I go out there, there are fish boiling the water before and during dusk. I'm almost certain they're bass.
  22. I wonder how the no info. Rule works for the college boys?
  23. Nightcrawlers have ears....don't they? LOL I do remember doing this as a kid! Brings back some good memories.
  24. Play this and you'll have more than you know what to do.
