  2. Must be nice! ?
  3. I'm screwed. 1 effing guy made the cut!!!!! ?????
  4. Don't ever do it in the house either
  5. If I could get my guys to catch a limit or get a major upgrade for those who didn't limit yesterday I could have everyone inside the cut....tomorrow would be a different story though. I have 3 right on the bubble!
  6. I think what A-Jay meant about new to me tunnel vision is....don't look at a boat and say "hey its better than I have now" or something to that effect. You can easily get that tunnel vision and over look a lot of future headaches.
  7. You have the highest score out of the group?
  8. I was wondering. We usually hear from you the day before or morning of. You working towards Mr. Universe?
  9. Talk about a coincidence!
  10. I officially suck! By the way where's Kyle? Haven't heard from him in a while.
  11. Sounds like you've done research so I'm assuming you know the GPS is basically a white screen with you're route on it. I've also read that if you change settings they go back to default once you turn it off. I've read it does this and read it doesn't so it might be something to check into. It's just on the striker units from what I've read. If a couple missing things are no big deal to people, these are great units with a great price!
  12. After reading them it sure sounds like you got exactly what you need. Disclaimer: I'm no expert so if you croak it's not my fault.
  13. Wheeler Ike J Pow Crochet Morganthaler 3 aren't doing horrible the other 2 are sucking
  14. Throw out some plainer boards, down riggers, and troll and you'll slam the smallies! ?
  15. It's like burger joints.... Double quarter pounder (weight before cooking) fine print. Xxx brand jig weight before add ons. Lol didn't know but makes sense everything is fine print now!!! Thanks for the info!
  16. Man I'd love to catch a muskie! I've been pondering the idea quite a bit lately. Nice catch!!!!
  17. Thanks for the reminder. I've gotten 2 e-mails and ignored them both. After setting my team I'm left scratching my head and biting my nails. After a little research the average bass weighs 2lbs which I found surprising. And its pretty shallow.
  18. I you're looking for all things that hold fish than wouldn't SI be a better choice? With SI you can see a long ways on either side of the boat. Unless I'm missing something (again I'm no expert) I'd like to see off to the side say 50-70 where I'm going to cast rather than see a tiny portion of what's directly underneath my boat. I could see finding say a brush pile with SI then picking it apart with DI. I think using DI in shallow water to find fish spots you're really limiting your potential to find it in a decent amount of time. Wayne at anytime jump in a give us your input.
  19. You're doing better than I did too. Don't worry about how much it was, if it works then its perfect. You don't know the difference between the cheaper and expensive reels so you're good. I have one reel I spent $100 on so I don't know the difference either and guess what? I have no problems catching fish. Just take your time and enjoy fishing!
  20. At those depths I don't think your coverage area is going to be very much at all. If you want to know the composition in places other than right underneath you side seeing is the way to go. Side note: I'm no expert I'm sure one will chime in. ?
  21. I wouldn't do it. Your boat is nice and its new! That other one is getting up there in age. You could sell yours and have a down payment, save money and sell yours for a bigger down payment. If you're ok with getting a loan, have you looked into terms of boat loans? Some are ok with loans and some aren't. If you are you might be surprised how cheap the payment. You'll pay for it for several years but it'll be cheap. So its a trade off.
  22. After seeing Andy Montgomery work his magic and watching Zona's show last week, this is my goal this year to learn to skip a caster under docks. My list keeps growing. I think I might need to move south where the fishing season is longer than 6-7 months. Zona if you're reading this, I might make the 2 hour drive south so if a weird looking guy knocks on your door, he just wants to learn to skip docks.
  23. Just a 6-7 pounder in Michigan? That's a monster in Michigan buddy! I'd keep fishing Houghton Lake if I were you, especially when the water temp. gets to that magical number.
  24. Considering it was Houghton Lake a few years ago I'd say it was probably 12 pounds even, which means if it wouldn't have went under the boat your line probably wouldn't have broke and you would've broke the 84 year old record by 1oz! How's that for a kick in the nuts?! Edit: just read again that it threw the spinner bait, my bad! You still were so close to breaking the record some think will never be broke. ?
  25. It's always fun to see them light up. Last year we were fishing off a bridge into a "river" and my wife broke off so I was at the truck tying a new hook on. My 6 year old son grabbed my bait caster and made a cast without me knowing. Then all I hear is "I got one I got one"! To my surprise here he is with my rod reeling in a smallmouth! He managed the bait caster pretty well a little nest but not too bad. The rest of the night he was strutting around thinking he was cool.
